TRIP REPORT STARTS ON PAGE EIGHT! :)

Well, I promised myself I wouldn’t start writing one of these suckers until I was at least 60 days and counting. OOPS. I just cant contain myself! :yay: Here I am , DIS.

WARNING : This trip report will be probably be not very educated, tend to ramble on about whatever pops into my mind, long, give “too much information”, overly use quotation marks, sometimes offensive, maybe..shall we say, boring?

Ah. There we go. On with the show.

Who am I, you ask?
Well
I
Am
Shanna. (noun) - not very easy to define. Not black or white. Not left or right. A movie star in the making. Lover of all things art. She prefers the word “eclectic.” Loves the earth, hugs a few trees. But would she pour out her pitiful little piggy bank to spend a lot on a trip to one of the most commercialized places in the world? YES. It all starts when she was young, see…

My love for Disney goes back to my childhood and runs deeper than rides or resorts. During most of my childhood, my family had its share of dysfunctional-ness, and to make a long story short, me and my younger brother ended up in my grandparents care by the time I was 8. (Remember the movie/musical Annie? Kinda like that…)Our first week of being put in my grandparents care, my grandma began telling us that we were going to the lake house in Disney, Oklahoma. (It’s a real place! Seriously! My grandparents are geniuses!) The night before we were leaving to go to the “lake”, my grandparents had me and my brother sleep in the same room. The following morning, our grandparents flipped on the lights and at the end of our bed was a big Disney gift basket full of autograph books, etc that our travel agent so kindly put together. And then they said it, “We’re going to Disney World!” My little stubborn eight year old head didn’t believe it until we were on the plane. What I am trying to say (in a very long way) is that Disney will always be the first really happy childhood memory I had, it will always have some kind of mystery and suspense to me, and will always be the place that I feel safe and “at home.”:cloud9:

And I’m at it again! I’m going home June 26-July 2, 2007. It was my first happy memory as a child and it will be my first happy memory as an “adult.” (Legal adult, anyway. I mean you can go to jail at 18, doesn’t that give you some kind of adult title? )

ADR’s are made! :thumbsup2
Trip is being paid off at the end of this week….:thumbsup2

Now on to those dang crocs and baggallenis....

Last night I bought a backpack. Not a baggalleni or anything, but I happen to think it is functional and oh so adorable! Not to mention only $20 (including shipping!) :woohoo:

While reading over this, I failed to mention the details of a you know, TRIP REPORT!..

We're going down at the end of June to celebrate my birthday/gradution. Who's we?

Me - See above post.
DBF - John. 18. Pretty Neat Guy. We've been together for 2.5 years. NEVER been to Disney. I happen to think he's the cats meow.

We're trying Carribean Beach. I'm pretty stoked. I havent been since 2000, so I'm in for a bunch of new experiences.

Here's our list of ADR's. Any comments or suggestions are greatly appreciated!

June 27 - California Grill. 8pm.
June 28 - 50's Prime Time Cafe. 1pm.
Le Cellier. 8pm.
June 29 - ohana's. 7pm.
July 1 - 1900 Park Fare. 10am.
July 2 - Planet Hollywood. 3pm. (We're planning on using those voucher things --- any experiences with those?)

Great start! I love the bag. But since I expect my dh to haul the thing around I'm stuck with a sensible black & red.

Haha. I asked him first, I was thinking to go with the solid colors too, but he said pick whatever you want. I'll carry whatever. I was like Ooookkkaaay. :rotfl:

Hey Dissers, be proud of me! I got my lime green mickey heads today!:tiptoe: Excuse me as I rush to my laminate...if I only already had my backpack...

Not that anyone reads this or anything:rolleyes1 ...BUT today we made our final payment! Do you know how bittersweet it is to hold $1200 cash and hand it over? It was amazing! We went into the travel agent when it was raining and when we came out the sun had as well! I called it an omen. :rotfl:

Our only real worry now is our flight. We cant seem to find any good deals on SW (YET!..Im still crossing my fingers! :scared: ). $800 for the both of us! Southwest?:scared1: ! NO WAY!...:sad2: But Im hoping for some good DING fares or else its booking through another airline. I havent flown the "majors" in a long time...and I've found SW to be so much more reliable. I just hope we can get some good fares...

On a better note, our digital camera started working again! YAY! That alleviates the stress of having to buy a new digital. We're going to take it by a camera repair shop just to make sure our cheap minds arent hallucinating. :rotfl2:

Oh, I almost forgot. I got my backpack in LAST WEEK! I was supposed to get it in another week, but surprise surprise I got it early. It is a bit small, but DBF and I both agreed that will help us bring only what we NEED.

BTW.
Here's a better and more updated picture than the one I had posted.

You're so pretty!! I know what you mean about handing over that much money! When we payed off our trip I had a hard time but it felt great to have it all payed for!

Just to let you know... We thought we had found the absolute best deal on Southwest- $88 one way from Dallas, but that would mean we had to drive about six hours to get there. So, we booked our flights and not one week later, they were offering a new flight fare from our hometown, which would mean no driving!!!! (for only $4 more pp) They didn't offer this price until a new flight came available, and from what I know, they wait until all flights are booked, then add a new one. This allows them to offer the "promotional fares" that are super cheap. There are only a few of these offered, so my suggestion is to check the southwest website DAILY!!!! Once the promotional fares are booked, the prices go up and up. Don't give up just yet, they add new flights all the time! We only had to pay the security fee and it totaled $67 and we got to change our flight! This is going to make it so much easier for us, so don't give up hope!

Awwh, thanks! This really does give me hope! I keep checking SW and I roo have also considered driving to Dallas to get the cheaper fares ( its about 5 hrs and I have family there)..but I will definently keep checking SW now! :surfweb:

The waiting paid off! :cool1: Got $99 fares on SW today! It wasnt the exact times that I wanted, but for $99 I'll take it! :dance3: It finally feels real. The trip is paid off, we have our flights. I feel like everythings happening at once and I like it! Now I hope I dont get blown away, theres tornado warnings all around my county today..

We had a garage sale last weekend to help alleviate some of the minor costs of the trip and I think I'll go into the garage sale business! Just Kidding, of course, it really was hard work but the money was grrrreeaaat! Since we made over $400 (still have "junk" left over:sad2: ) and scored cheap fares with SW I indulged in a little retail therapy and bought the Primas I've been salivating over! I couldnt find the Pearl White Primas anywhere but Zappos, and LUCKY ME they are doing FREE OVERNIGHT SHIPPING! I noticed the shoe price was a bit higher, but I'm the bargain sucker. If its just a couple dollars off, I'll take it! Plus, I'm an American and when I buy something, I want it now! :rotfl:

But anywho, I also set up our towncar transfer last night after almost too much research! :surfweb: I stumbled upon Murray Hill Transportation and I'm stoked! Once again, the "free" things enticed my bargain heart, especially when I saw the Free Entrance Picture. Can I say ADORABLE? I didnt seem to really see that anywhere else and I figured they all cost about the same...OOPS, I booked it. No going back now! :rotfl2:

There's really nothing left to be done, we are waiting to book our return flight because its still too high and well...we're just kinda lazy. And I think subconsciously, we want to get "stuck" in Orlando...

I scored a job at Payless which will serve as a great way to stash some money to spend. (If I can leave the store with my paycheck...!)

We're getting more excited everyday, we even started our "60 days and counting" mickey head board today! I'll try to get some pictures on here soon, I dont really have alot of time --- They actually expect Seniors to do WORK their last month in school? Psssh. Bad case of senioritis, my friends. :cool2:

YAY! I got my primas during my lunch break today! Gotta love overnight shipping!:woohoo: They feel a bit tight, but I heard they form to your feet?:confused3 I think I'll give them a try...

Oh, and that soon to be clever title just got clever. Meet John and Shanna AKA Jack and Sally. I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE NMBC. Maybe I can only wish I was as tiny as Sally, but John sure is Jack to the T. We were watching it this afternoon when the DIS popped in my head and the title was born. aaahh.

Loving your TR so far. What an awesome graduation present to yourself. Make sure to visit MGM they have an excellent store for NMBC stuff. ;)

No wonder they call em CROCS. The primas SUCK!...I was sooo excited too. They tore up my feet bad. My 4 inch Steve Madden wedges felt better on my feet than the primas. I normally wear a size eight, but ordered a size seven based on the reviews I read (they shrink or something?:confused3 ugh.) And I dont think I can return them to Zappos, so I am DONE with crocs. Huhuhh. No MJ's, no CAYMANS, nothing. Okay. Well. Maybe I just need time to heal, but man I am not a happy cookie. The search for the perfect shoe has begun. :sail:

Awww I'm sad to hear your Primas didn't work out. I've become a Croc convert. I ordered the flip flops though (athens) and they were wonderful. I usually did half days though with the crocs. I usually wore my Nike Shox and then when my feet started getting hot and changed into my crocs or one time I had my crocs on but it was abnormally cold and I changed into my Nike's. Flip Flop crocs are very comfy though. I just don't see myself in the regular crocs though.:sad2:

Love your pre trip report, you guys are gonna have an awesome time!!!!!
