TRIP REPORT STARTS ON PAGE EIGHT!
Well, I promised myself I wouldn’t start writing one of these suckers until I was at least 60 days and counting. OOPS. I just cant contain myself!
Here I am , DIS.
WARNING : This trip report will be probably be not very educated, tend to ramble on about whatever pops into my mind, long, give “too much information”, overly use quotation marks, sometimes offensive, maybe..shall we say, boring?
Ah. There we go. On with the show.
Who am I, you ask?
Well
I
Am
Shanna. (noun) - not very easy to define. Not black or white. Not left or right. A movie star in the making. Lover of all things art. She prefers the word “eclectic.” Loves the earth, hugs a few trees. But would she pour out her pitiful little piggy bank to spend a lot on a trip to one of the most commercialized places in the world? YES. It all starts when she was young, see…
My love for Disney goes back to my childhood and runs deeper than rides or resorts. During most of my childhood, my family had its share of dysfunctional-ness, and to make a long story short, me and my younger brother ended up in my grandparents care by the time I was 8. (Remember the movie/musical Annie? Kinda like that…)Our first week of being put in my grandparents care, my grandma began telling us that we were going to the lake house in Disney, Oklahoma. (It’s a real place! Seriously! My grandparents are geniuses!) The night before we were leaving to go to the “lake”, my grandparents had me and my brother sleep in the same room. The following morning, our grandparents flipped on the lights and at the end of our bed was a big Disney gift basket full of autograph books, etc that our travel agent so kindly put together. And then they said it, “We’re going to Disney World!”
My little stubborn eight year old head didn’t believe it until we were on the plane. What I am trying to say (in a very long way) is that Disney will always be the first really happy childhood memory I had, it will always have some kind of mystery and suspense to me, and will always be the place that I feel safe and “at home.”
And I’m at it again! I’m going home June 26-July 2, 2007. It was my first happy memory as a child and it will be my first happy memory as an “adult.” (Legal adult, anyway. I mean you can go to jail at 18, doesn’t that give you some kind of adult title?
)
ADR’s are made!
Trip is being paid off at the end of this week….
Now on to those dang crocs and baggallenis....
