Thank you!

Children are definitely allowed, as a matter of fact, take them when Bob Jackson is performing and they'll love it! :surfweb:

I was wondering say like at MK, what number bus stop POR is?

Sounds like the arcade card is the same as PC, thank you!

Here's the map of the resort: http://www.wdwinfo.com/resortmaps/port-riverside.htm The bus stops are labelled West Depot, North Depot, East Depot and Blue Bayou Platform and River Delta Platform. The last two are collectively known as South Depot.

As far as the arcade goes, I do know that you purchase points on a rechargeable card but I don't know the cost, sorry. :confused3

It can vary a bit, specially when they switch between the dual POR/POFQ service and the direct service. However it always seems to be the furthest one away from wherever you are.

The arcade card can be used at any of the Disney games arcades, so yes it'll be the same as PC.

The bus stop for Mk I believe is either 5 or 6, it was the last one.. Mk is the only park that has seperate buses for POR and FQ, the rest all share.

As far as the aracade goes you get 50 points for $1 and I think for $5 it was like 275 points, the more $ you spent the more points you got. They gave you a plastic card that you swipe at the machines.

Thank you both! I will be staying here for the 1st time in Aug. with my boys. I switched resorts when AP rates came out :thumbsup2 I have not told my boys, they think we are staying at PC. I hope to keep it a secret as long as possible to surprise them.

I will be staying here again in Dec. with friends :yay:

Mommykds,
Towels are not at the quiet pools, but you can ask any of the mousekeeping staff you see on your way for a couple with no problems.

From what I understand, there are towels at the main pool though.

Hey partner, fancy bumping into you here :)

Ok one more pool question. If you are staying at Riverside can you use the pool at FQ? If so whats the best way to get there? Can you walk or take the boat?

yes you can use the FQ pool, you could walk the path but if you are with little ones and all your pool gear don't think you would want to do that, it looked like a long walk....

You can also take a boat over to FQ... We really wanted to get over there and check it out, but never made it :(

the bus service left something to be desired, but we got used to it in about 2 days... it was totally hit or miss no consistence at all as far as which stop got picked up or dropped off first... we stood most of the time and it took close to an hour to get there most days by the time the bus came... the ride itself was only about 20 min or so.
Just thought I would share our experience :)

Oh nooooooooooooo!!! That's the one thing I really HATE about WDW, is the bus service. :( I had originally booked POR thinking the buses "weren't so bad". We'll be there in early November, hopefully it will be off-season enough that there won't be long waits. I hate to try to "time" when I should get on the bus, especially when we have ADR's to get to.

Yes maybe off season won't be as bad or at least not as crowded, it got old standing every night with the kids.. We really didn't have any problems leaving for the parks, it was always coming home.. We did get use to it, and then just planned accordingly... Even a horrible experience is still a great experience at Disney KWIM :)

You can use the FQ pool. It is about a 15 minute walk. The FQ pool is close to the boat dock but you might have to wait a while for a boat.

Ok so I have heard that the buses at POR are really bad. It takes them a long time to come. Is this really true? I hope it isnt because we are going with another family and we really dont get to choose where we stay.

I'm a little worried about the buses also, after reading the bad reviews about them at POR, I hope they aren't as bad for the FQ.

I've read lots of bad things about the bus service, but I ve stayed at POR 5 times and POFQ once (all different times of year, including Spring break, when every room in every resort was sold out) and we never had bus problems:confused3. Only exception was coming back from EPCOT this past Spring Break, when it seemed like on 2 different nights we had to wait a particularly long time for busses, but we've had that from time to time at other resorts too..

Hi all,
I've read through this thread before and can't find if/where it was discussed which airlines you can use the resort check-in? We were flying Airtran, but have had to change to JetBlue and I'm not sure we can still do the resort airline check in with that airline? :confused3

I found this on the transportation thread:

# Current Resort Airline Check-In Participating Airlines (Domestic only):

* American Airlines
* Continental
* Delta
* jetBlue
* United/Ted
* Northwest
* Alaska Airlines
* AirTran Airways

# USAirways is in a TEST phase

We found that the buses from the resort to the parks weren't bad though we did allow plenty of time. Coming home at night was often real bad. Even when we've stayed at other resorts we've noticed that the lines for POR buses seemed longer.

Thank you very much! Have you used the resort check in? We need to leave the hotel by 8-ish (that's our 3 hr window) and I'm just wondering if it would be easier to lug our bags ourselves...any advice?
