we had no problem with out unit. it was not loud. it did get cold but I turned it down.
now my friends room they had a noisy one and they told the front desk. when we returned maintenance had totally replaced the unit. a brand new one put in. what service.

Thanks - here's to hoping all is quiet. :tiptoe:

i'm sorry if this doesn't belong here, but does anyone know what kind of credits i can use at the food court at por? i am really hoping to try pralines while there.

Don't know if this was answered yet but you can use the snack, CS and TS credits at POR. Boatwrights is the TS place and the food court has the snacks and counter service. I used snack credits for big cinn. rolls in the morning. For breakfast CS we got the meal and 2 drinks so we did OJ and coffee the one morning we ate there and the kids (10 and 11 years so adult plan) would get OJ and water.

What type of HVAC do they have in the rooms? Is it the units that are under a window and you turn on when you need heat or cool, or is it a central system with a thermostat?

And if it is an under the window kind of thing, just how loud are they? I cannot sleep with any kind of noise in the room.. :scared: ... even when using earplugs!

I didn't find them loud. I'm use to a fan running at home. There was a ceiling fan in the room in addition to the AC unit under the window.

Oh before I forget....if you get a corner room you get 2 windows!

Oh no thats ok I can understand that. We are staying in the FQ. I didn't think that they had trundles. I heard that they are tiny beds for young kids. I just figured if we could get a rollaway we would all get some sleep, ya know!

The trundles weren't that tiny. I'm 5'3" and fit just fine....Now I know I'm short but not that short...LOL....so I think some teens would be fine on the trundles.

to post pictures, just been really busy and have a migraine right now but had to visit DIS at least once today! :)

Just found this thread and haven't had a chance to read through all the posts yet. We are staying over Easter with another family. Does anyone know of any special Easter Day events happening here? I found a list of events oa resorts and nothing is listed for this resort.

I have not heard of any but I am sure the conscierge at the Resort would be happy to answer this for you. If not, you can visit and participate in whatever is happening anyplace on property. Have fun.....

well I was booked at POP for 1/19 - 1/28 but i could not stay away so I upgraded to POR. I put in a request for AB building 14 and I hope I get it. Stayed mansions last time and want to try AB now.

I requested either building 14 or 18 we got 18. LOVED IT!! Here are some pics I promised. I forgot to change the resloution when I scanned so they may be a bit grainy. :) The rain had just finished, it was about 10:30am or so.

I do hope I get it, it is so different from the Mansion side where I stayed last time.
I will tell them also 18
Thanks for posting

Thanks! I can't believe I forgot to take pictures of the inside of the room!! But once we had unpacked and the kids and hubby had "chilled" out I wasn't going to take pictures, LOL:rotfl:

I found 18 was close to everything but not so close that there was any outside noise bothering us. My friend drove over from Tampa to see us and they are now booked for POR in Dec!!

I called a few days before we were due to arrive to just double check everything and "remind" them of my request. We also checked in early, before noon so that may have also helped. The parking lot was close but not visible from building 18, that was nice too. I can't remember our room number (I'll post it later) but walk out the door - turn right and you head to the quiet pool (laundry is there too), - turn left and headed to the main walk way and buildings. Oh man, talking about it....I wanna go back!!! LOL :)

Ok POR experts! ( Hi DM, Scott, and I think I just saw mom2kids on MizDiz's report!)

We are going 1/22-1/27.
I have requested a trundle which DM says we will be in the bayou.

So my next question is: which building to request with the following conditions---
-standard view
-near parking lot ok since we drive
-must have always been non-smoking (bad asthma)
-allows goats and horses (:lmao: Just kiddin'--I'll leave them at home........maybe!)

Really enjoying the pics--I have never seen this resort but it looks great! :thumbsup2

Oh-What is the best rate you all have got? No codes are out yet but I'm hoping for one!!

Thx experts!

u better wave to me. I requested AB 14(I have to call and ask for 18 also) for 1/19-1/28.

I cannot wait to get back there.

We have found that Building 14, Rooms 1424 or 1425, probably meet your requirements.

The "always non-smoking" requirement is difficult to guarantee. My daughter has asthma and for the record we've been in new hotels where we could tell people smoked in non-smoking rooms regardless of the "ban." I'd bet some people could tell you tales of housekeeping smoking in their rooms while they were being cleaned.

Enjoy your stay!

Yep that was me over on MizDiz's trip report....once I saw those matching outfits I had to post.....it has to be them I saw, LOL.

We had room 1842, its second floor, building 18. I don't know if it ever was a smoking room or not but there was no odor at all.

Here is the map of POR: http://www.wdwinfo.com/resortmaps/port-riverside.htm

We parked in the lot closest to building 15 then walked a path to our building, not far at all. There is alos a path from said parking lot to the bus stop at the main building. Again not far at all.

The pictures I posted were "standard view." as for price we did the package, with 6 day hoppers and free dining and it was about $2264. I used AAA this time. My TA was good but I think I will book it myself next time, just easier to make changes or call and see if you have a "pin" attached to your name.

And my horse fit just fine! LOL :cutie:

sorry I have not been on the Bayou side yet. I only stayed in the mansions. I am looking forward to it and I hope I can get a room on that side.
