While we are on the subject of buses and transportation, how do time do the multiple stops/shared transport (with POFQ) add to your transportation time? How long is it from the first bus stop until you are out of the resort and onto the road?

I never rode the bus around the resort except for once in the mid afternoon and it went quickly. In the morning the south depot bus would just leave from there to the parks when i was there.

Does anyone know if the hotel room doors are metal? I was thinking of making a Christmas door magnet..TIA!!!!

I know this question was answered, but just to prove it...here is a magnetic Croc on our door!

Okay I am planning a trip and I need to decided POR or POFQ?

Whats the difference and why should I go for POR? Convince me!

We just switched from POP to POR. LAst year we stated at POFQ, and decided that it would be a nice treat to switch this year's trip from a value to a mod.

The reason we chose POR over POFQ...
-already been to POFQ, wanted to try something new!
-Was not impressed with the food court at POFQ. Plus this resort has Boatwrights.
-Theming looks even more impressive to me in pictures.

Can't wait. Keep all those tips coming. We are going to be in our room one month from today!

I have two questions regarding POFQ. First, are the irons good enough to get the wrinkles out? I usually iron all my clothes before packing even though I know they will get wrinkled again but I figure they might be less wrinkled then if they hadn't been ironed and I don't want to bring a travel iron since I haven't been able to find one that works well.

Second question, are the hair dryers any good? I use a conair at home and wondering if it was comparable. I'll just need it at night mostly. I'm pretty fussy with my hairdryer so I'll probably end up bringing it anyway but just curious as to the hairdryer provided.

TIA!!

So you believe that POR is just overall going to be nicer than FQ? We were not concerned about the food situation because we probably wouldn't use a TS at either and most of the food courts have similar food but looks do go a long way for me. I can't seem to differentiate the major "look" differences or find out which would suite us best. I also can't seem to figure out if the size issue matters that much. I don't want to chose one and wish I went to the other.

Just as an FYI for hairdryers, my guess is all the mods have the same ones, and we recently stayed at CBR. I am quite particular because I have really thick hair and need a heavy duty hairdryer. I didn't find it to be to bad, took me a bit longer than normal but it worked a-ok.

We absolutely loved POR & can't wait to stay there again. We thought we wanted POFQ but once we got to POR we fell in love with it. It will be a great choice. Have fun.:cool1:

we haven't quite decided yet and I like the smaller scale idea of FQ and the pool and i can't even take a virtual tour of riverside on the wdw website... i wish i had a way of getting more info

well I will vote for Riverside. It really is a gorgeous resort. I am going between there and POP for April and right now it is POP but you never know. I think POR may win in the end. I want to try AB this time.

Well, the Disney website stinks. Whatever they've done to it in the past months, well, it has been bad. I don't even go on there anymore. The DIS has lots of good shots of the resorts, as well as AllEars.net.

Sometimes the choice is made for you! We had our original reservations for POFQ because I've always wanted to go to New Orleans, but when the Disney Visa code came along we saved $520 to switch over to POR. I've asked to be placed in Parterre Place, which is the mansion closest to POFQ. That way we can wander between the two resorts, share busses, pools, food courts, etc. Kinda like having the best of both worlds.

That is where I stayed and I loved it. Ooh I think I have save up more and just go for POR.

Nothing from us, but we will be heading out to POR for the first time in 16 days!!!! I'm so excited, but I've still so much to do. So you'll have to wait until after we return to hear anything from me! :goodvibes
