I think John McCain just won the presidency.

I agree!!! I was jumping up and down when his pick was announced! I am not that crazy about McCain, BUT to have to say a woman as vice president who is pro-life, pro-family, and big on drilling for oil....that is a HUGE deal!!! I have never been as excited for an election as this one. Not to mention that she is a very beautiful woman, and young too. AWESOME choice for McCain! He has my vote for sure!!!

Both sides picked their VP with an agenda in mind, not because they liked them.

I agree. Partisan politics aside, why he'd pick someone with liberal economic credentials when he himself has admitted that economics is not his strong suit is beyond me? Plain and simple, if he wanted true economic street cred, he should have picked Romney.

It seems that travelbug is a little buggy when it comes to McCain.

I am excited about the pick, but have to do more research on Palin. As I stated before she has just as much experience as Obama, You have to remember he started running for president in Feb 2007 so that gives him about 2 years of US Senate Experience, before he started runnning for President as a full time job offcially.

This is the problem with the logic I keep seeing on these boards. Will you be voting for Obama who will be president (not VP) and has even less experience than she has. I think of the 4 canidiates he is the least ready to lead the free world.

Not just these boards. Sadly this is the logic, or lack thereof, that many voting Americans use. Let's criticize the other guy for something that our own guy epitomizes as well.

I heard this morning that of the four on the tickets, Palin is the ONLY ONE with ANY executive experience. Obama has no executive experience and very little experience at all.

He marries Cindy, after dumping his first wife, for her connections and resources to get him into politics.

Now he gives the nod for VP to unknown Gov. Sarah Palin, he does this only to court the women's vote.

If I'm not mistaken, Romney's term as Governor of Massachusetts wouldn't be called a blueprint for fiscal conservatism either. He did close a deficit, but also was also a lot of tax and fee raising that went with the budget cuts.
