What a guy, John McCain. He uses women.
He marries Cindy, after dumping his first wife, for her connections and resources to get him into politics.
Now he gives the nod for VP to unknown Gov. Sarah Palin, he does this only to court the women's vote.
Use your heads ladies, John McCain is nothing but a user.
Some of you OS crack me up.![]()

And "community organizer" really pads the old resume!!
The pick is a definite all or nothing for ol' Maverick...
Many right wing pundits have excoriated her for her windfall profits tax on Alaskan oil companies that redistributed wealth to the citizens of Alaska as a reason against Obama's windfall profits taxes. I don't know why this pick is so exiting. Once fiscal conservatives get to know her, I have a feeling a number of the GOP faithful might not be so enchanted...
She has been Gov. for less than 2 years, and today McCain turns 72. This choice scares me, talk about inexperience!! I guess it just shows how little McCain has to offer that he would make a "surprise choice".
Talk about inexperience.. we can say that about Obama! Even a 2004 Obama said it'd be stupid for him to run for President in 2008 because he'd be inexperienced.I don't understand how a proud woman could put herself on the same ticket as someone who voted down giving her the same wage as a man doing the same job....boggles my mind....
See, that's just rude and disrespectful. Not the "higher road" that the left always claims to take.
What would be wrong with basing one's vote on that?

Well, a quick survey of major news sites seems to point to McCain's choice of Palin as having grabbed the spotlight by a large percentage. NYT, WaPo, CNN.... It's "Palin"

Sarah Palin is my former neighbor. I lived in the town she was in mayor of for four years and still own a home there. I would see her in the grocery store and run into her at the airport (Alaska has the population of a small city). I voted for her for Governor.
I will not be voting for her for Vice-President.
Sarah has many strengths--but the experience of being mayor of a town of 5,000 or Governor of a state with 600,000 residents isn't the prep I'm looking for in someone a heartbeat away from the presidency. She has been Mayor of a small town and Governor of a state awash in money--hardly the experience one needs to lead the nation in a time of economic downturn and amid threats from around the world.
It's great theater and I am proud to see my former neighbor getting a lot of attention. She is a great woman--a woman of great integrity. She has made great strides in cleaning up the cesspool of sleaze that is Alaska politics. She is not ready to lead the free world.
Oh, and I forgot that 4 years on the "Committe on Foreign Relations" is nothing.
I think her pro-life, anti gun-control stances may help to offest some of her more moderate/liberal fiscal policies she has put into place in Alaska. I do agree this is an all or nothing pick for McCain. A little risky if you ask me.
I hope that's not the only reason for your vote.
