It's a Stroller Sir, not a Battering Ram!!! NEW PTR LINK POSTED

Queen! Another fantastic couple of updates. I love how relaxing you chose to do this trip. That's my way of doing Disney as well...I do not like rushing from one attraction to another, I figure if we get to it great if not, we will just have to take another trip!

How did I miss the pressed coffee at Kona?! Need to add that to my list!!

Looking forward to the reading the rest of your report.

The whole trip sounds very relaxing, with just the two of you and having pool time every afternoon. I miss all the trips me and my mom used to take. It's a lot different than going with little kids.

I hope you all found lots of great things to buy at Downtown Disney!:goodvibes

I had a good day today.

Just sayin'.

We haven't made it to Grand Beach once this summer...not good! We do need to do that...we should have lunch at Saucers and go next door to Michael Rodent's....maybe Sept when everything slows down!

sounds good!!! I look forward to it!!!

Hope you don't mind me popping over from the UK. Loved catching up with your trip and thought all the photos (the ones you remembered to take...;)) were fab!

I love the idea of visiting during the Flower and Garden festival and your photos really just increased that wish....there's one shot in particular that I thought was stunning and you commented that the picture didn't do it justice....what must that be like to see in person then!!!! WOW!

I also have a DD and reading your TR makes me want to do a girls trip at some point in the future...(sorry DH :lmao:)

Thanks for a great report :goodvibes

Mmm I love Kona for breakfast! I wanted to try those macadamia pancakes when we went there last year but I got a boring omelet instead...if we go in November I'll have to be more adventurous! :rotfl:

I love Shanleigh's jewelry, the World Showcase has such beautiful jewelry! Have you looked at the earrings they have in the Morocco pavilion? Amazing! :cool1:

A bride on the bus, that is so weird...I know it's a Disney bus but still, I'm not sure I'd go on any type of bus in my wedding dress! :rotfl:

Sounds like a nice, relaxing morning! Breakfast looks delicious. I can't wait until we have options beyond character meals! ;)

The bride on the bus is hilarious. I wonder what on earth she was doing there?

I hear ya...and somedays I think "what I wouldn't give to have a little girl at a character breakfast" time just goes way too quickly doesn't it?

It was honestly the strangest thing...she was on there when we got on so I'm not even sure where they got on!

Greetings from Blizzard Beach!! Having a great time!!! And....free Disney Wifi here too. So that makes both water parks and MK at this time.

I know how much fun you guys are having and selfishly, we can't wait for you to be back home to share everything with us:thumbsup2

Queen, I'm so sorry...I don't know how I missed your update.

Kona. :worship::worship::worship:: This is one of the meals I am so looking forward to. I could drink that pressed pot coffee all day; but, then I'd never go to sleep after drinking it. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Love Jasmine's dress...she looks so cute. And a girl can never have too many shoes...or so I'm told. I'm not big on having a lot of shoes.

I can't wait to hear about your morning of shopping,

No worries at all Kathy! I know how much you have going on right now!

You and me both....my sister bought me a pressed pot cause she knows how much I love it but I think half the love must come from being at Disney cause it just doesn't taste the same!:rotfl2:

I don't have the shoe thing either and I wish that was the only shopping addiction she had but it's jewellery, make up, nail polish, clothes....pretty much everything a girly girl likes!

I'm so very late but in and caught up. Sounds like a wonderful trip so far.

Jill in CO

Hi Jill so happy to have you along! So much more to come! Thanks again for posting!

I can't imagine not doing it in this relaxed way anymore....I'm not quite sure I could do commando touring anymore:rotfl2:

Definitely add that to your list honey! You will love it....I like to have one all to myself and so does my BIL and sister so works well all around !

It sure is! It seems so long ago on one hand that Shanleigh was little and on the other I don't know where the time has gone!

My daughter never seems to have a problem buying anything when we go shopping....thank goodness she knows how to shop for a bargain tho!

I had a good day today.

Just sayin'.

Glad to hear that! I plan on posting about it with the kids comments....that post will be coming up soon!

Mind....I love that you've joined in!!:thumbsup2 I do get a little better with the picture taking but only because Shanleigh kept reminding me LOL

It was spectacular and the whole time I kept thinking how much my mom would have loved it there! She worked for Agriculture Canada at the University here before she retired and I know how much she would have loved all the beautiful flowers

There is nothing like a mother/daughter trip! You'll have to do it just once!

Isn't it just the best! I almost always order what I've had before so I need to step outside the box myself!

As a matter of fact she was drooling over some pieces in Morocco and made the mistake of saying I'll come back cause I can't make a decision right now....well you know what happened with that don't you:rotfl2:

I was worried about how dirty it could get...what if someone spilled something on it.....

Here we are again with another week gone and no update from me! I'm hoping once September hits things will slow down and I can spend a little more time on here!

Humour me for a few minutes of real life update! Pkondz, who posts here, invited the kids and I over yesterday to spend an afternoon with him and his family and what an afternoon we had. It was like being with friends we had known forever! I had met Pkondz and his two lovely girls but I was meeting his wife for the first time and they were all meeting the kids for the first time! Whew...confused yet? We had the best time!! When we got in the car to leave both kids said "we didn't want to leave, they are so fun". Shanleigh said 'I love them....thought they were both so funny and had a bit of a soft spot for Ruby, pkondz wife!! She thought she was just lovely and then they both said I can't wait to see them again! That should tell you how great of a day we had!!! My girl usually takes a while to feel comfy with people, not yesterday, loved her time there! Definitely folks we will be spending more time with in the future, of that I have no doubt! Thank you again and we can't wait to see you all again!

When we arrived at DTD Shanleigh wanted to head straight for Tren D so that's where we went!
290.jpg

While she was shopping I took this shot as I just love the theming in here, it reminds me of a teenage girl's bedroom!

She decided on a pair of denim shorts and that was it! I was impressed. We were standing at the register and she was paying and I noticed one of the sales ladies was speaking Spanish to the lady who was cashing Shan out and she sounded panicked and was pointing. I asked what was wrong and she said there was something wrong with a lady outside so off I went! I saw a lady on the ground with her husband trying to wak her and their little girl in her stroller. Well he had the mom situation under control so I just sat down on the ground and talked to the little one in the stroller knowing she must be scared to death. The dad turned to me and said thank you so much! Shanleigh appeared at that moment and he then looked at me and said can you go in there and get my wife, she's holding our other baby and she's wearing blah blah! WHAT??? Ok, I was off! I walked into the store and saw her right away and said "the lady you and your husband were with has fainted and he's asked me to come and get you". She looked at me and said we weren't with anyone! Ok....weird....so off we went. Turned out she went in to shop and he stayed outside with the other little one and saw this complete stranger faint. We all waited until the paramedics got there said our goodbyes and we were off. I

I said to Shanleigh after, he is the kind of person you want in an emergency, he was pointing at people and saying "you do this, and you do that " everyone know what they were supposed to do. She said he is trained in first aid and is amazing in situations....that he was!!!
291.jpg

Once we said our goodbyes we headed over to The West Side! On our way we saw this ol guy.....
292.jpg

As you can see, mornings are definitely the time to shop at DTD!
293.jpg

Our favourite deluxe resort.....how I love SSR!
294.jpg

Fulton's ... we thought maybe we would come back here and have lunch! It has been ages since we've had a meal here and I think the biggest reason is that it's not on the DDP!
295.jpg

T-Rex....not gonna happen on this trip! But we did enjoy it in 2009 when we were there!
296.jpg

Characters In Flight!
297.jpg

I thought this looked so pretty and then Shanleigh said maybe we should check out the menu here and we decided that we would come back and have lunch here later on!
298.jpg

Oh yum!! Again, in 2010 when we were here we sat on the patio and had one of these...oh my goodness was it good....I'm sure it was a 1000 calories but hey, you're on vacation!
299.jpg

Some Fountains....can you tell we are able to have a very leisurely morning here! I don't mind DTD in the evenings if you don't want to shop but if you do, you need to come int he morning..you"ll get so much done!
300.jpg

I made Shanleigh sit outside Raglan Road...remember, I forgot to take my camera out when we were here on arrival day....of course you remember!
302.jpg

Apricot Lane...all I can say is thank goodness they had some nice comfy chairs in here because my daughter spent at least an hour in here trying stuff on! She wanted this mint green blazer so badly but all they had was a medium and it was just too big! I gave her the "oh poor you, a medium is too big look" you know the one! LOL
303.jpg

I thought this would make an interesting picture! After we left here we stopped in at Curl and my daughter managed to spend a bundle there! 2 pairs of Toms' (one she had the artist outside paint cherry blossoms on them ....so cute) a gorgeous lime green sleeveless top, a tee for Jeff and another dress for her!!
304.jpg

OUR DESTINATION!!!! I didn't want to give it away but it was a gorgeous day and we were going to do what we had been waiting to do for a few years!!!
305.jpg

Doesn't she look so brave (foreshadowing here) and she is texting Jeff to tell him what we are about to do. We got the surprise of our lives at this moment, the pilot told us we would be having a private flight!!! Yup, just me, Shan and Jose!!! How cool was this going to be!
308.jpg

Up Up and Away in my beautiful my beautiful balloon!!!! It was at this point that I realized as I was wandering from side to side of the balloon that Shanleigh hadn't moved an inch or let go!
310.jpg

There's Curl...where Shanleigh had just spent a small fortune
311.jpg

The Marketplace
312.jpg

parking lot and Planet Hollywood! This was amazing, I can't tell you how much we enjoyed this!
314.jpg

Epcot, Swan and Dolphin and TL...I was blown away by how far you could see. It was at this point that Jose left the controls and walked up behind Shan and said can you see TL? She screamed and asked her as calm a voice as she could muster''''''shouldn't you be over there! We died laughing. He was so great and since there was no one waiting, kept us up a little longer than normal!
316.jpg
Disney Quest and The West Side
321.jpg

Looking straight down! Shan was panicking that I was going to drop the camera!
328.jpg

This was as brave as she got.....she never actually moved, I said ok ready, she let go I snapped the shot and she grabbed on again!
329.jpg

Doesn't she look happy, she loved it, she was nervous, but she loved it and I am so happy Jose could come out for a picture!

After our flight and a bit more shopping we decided it was hot and we needed the pool. We had wanted to have lunch at DTD but we were both still full from breakfast so we headed back!!

What a lovely day off from the parks you guys had, and I agree that shopping at downtown disney must be done in the morning, the nights are usually too crowded to even walk into a store.

What a scary situation with the lady being unresponsive, luckily there was someone there who knew how to handle it, or i'm sure it could have been much more scary for everyone involved...hopefully the lady was alright!

I loved apricot lane last year, and thought it was such a neat addition to downtown disney, and I'm glad that Shanleigh liked it as well.

I love the photo you took in TrenD...you always take such amazing pics and I always love looking at them.

Your pictures from Characters in Flight are amazing, although I can't say I blame Shanleigh for being too nervous to move...that looks like it's a long ways up, although it definitely provides a different way of seeing WDW.

Can't wait to hear what you guys decided on for lunch:goodvibes

Wow what an eventful morning. I can only imagine what the wife was thinking when you got her from the store. Hehe.

I love that you spend so much time at dtd. We are lucky if we spend a couple hours there a trip. We always have such bad bus service to and fro. That would be the one place that I would drive on property.

Love your pictures! I think I took a similar one at Trend D! That store is so pretty!

I'm glad you were able to do the character flight. I know they suspended the flights. I can't remember if they are closed for good now.

Oh and how wonderful to enjoy new friends!!!

Oh Carla....I am so happy for you, I know how much this means to you! I will be looking for a TR when you get back:thumbsup2

Glad you enjoy it as much as we do! Tooo bad we aren't going to be there at the same time:sad:

You and her would definitely have a great time shopping...she could look and look and look....so I grab a glass of Rose Regale, hit a bench and wait!:lmao:

Thank you Queen - I hope to get back into this and start a Pre-trip report but gosh it feels so far away right now! :goodvibes

And yes, I sure am bummed we won't be there at the same time. :( We will make it happen one of these days!! ;)

Hey, if you're not into shopping a glass of Rose would be a fine substitute! ::yes::

Now, time to go read some more- have a fantastic week. :wizard:

 Carla

That is too funny!!

Shouldn't you be over there? :rotfl2::rotfl2:

We haven't tried Characters in Flight yet but we did do the tower at SeaWorld. That is pretty cool as well and I know we could see WDW from the top and the Characters in Flight Balloon as well.

A bride on the bus... wow!

Characters in Flight looks so cool... I hope I can convince David to go on this, I know for darn sure that Mom will be only willing to watch from the ground!

I really enjoy taking time out from the parks, it will be hard to do with two noobs, not that I'm much better, I've only been there once even though anyone who knows me thinks I know wayyyy to much about that place to have only had one trip!

Lovely updates as usual!

Great update, Queen. I've never been in either of those stores that Jas spent all that money...probably because I don't have a daughter ;)

If I'm not mistaken, I thought I read somewhere that Fulton's is NOW on the dining plan. I would confirm that before heading there on your next trip though.

We tried to go up in the balloon last year but it wasn't going up because of the wind. It's too funny that Jas was afraid to let go...especially since she loves all those thrill rides.

What a scary thing to happen for that lady! Lucky for her that man took charge and kind people like you and Shanleigh stopped to help.

Love the pics from Tren D. Maddie is obsessed with having a chandelier for her room, and really thinks that I should just buy her one of those.

I love DTD in the mornings, much too crowded to even try going at night with a 5 year old. :rotfl:

Yay for Characters in Flight! You two are the first ones I've heard of that actually got to go up!!!! Gorgeous pictures, I can't believe how much of WDW you were able to see!

Poor Shan, sorry that she was scared.

I think that Fulton's might be on the DDP list now (signature). I could be wrong though. I'd really like to try it some day.

I'm glad you had such a nice visit with Pkonds. :cool1: So glad that your families meshed so well!

That sounds like a great morning shopping! It's so easy to spend sooo much money in dtd- everything is so adorable!
It's so nice in the morning there when it's not as crowded and people aren't all tired and 'parked out'.
Wow that is crazy about the woman- so glad you calmed down the little one, would have been so scary.
It's so much better when someone just takes charge in an emergency, it makes such a difference!
That is so great you got to do characters in flight! AND all on your own!
The views look amazing, and you picked a perfect day for it!
But I don't blame Shan, I probably would have been clinging on to the edges a little scared too!

Oh what a lovely morning at DTD! I generally end up there in the evenings, but did a morning once and it was so peaceful!
What a scary situation with the lady who collapsed, I'm glad the man there was so calm and orderly.
I can't believe you guys went up in the balloon! How awesome! I'd probably be like Shanleigh, too afraid to let go of the rails and I'd also be scared of dropping my camera over the side! I think I'd have to have 4 straps connected to various parts of my body! :rotfl2:

Oh my goodness, your photos from the balloon look amazing. Talk about a view! I couldn't believe how small the Epcot globe looked! I think I'd be like Shanleigh, though, and wouldn't let go of the rail. :rotfl2:

Shopping at DTD in the morning can be a dangerous thing. :rotfl: Sometimes, I go in the afternoon, because I know I won't have patience for weaving through the massive crowds and will, therefore, spend less.

It's great to hear that somebody took charge in a scary situation like that. It's what you really need, in the end. Otherwise, everyone's trying to do a million things at once and it's chaos. It's such a relief to hear the situation was handled and taken care of.
