It was the best of times, it was the worst of times!

OK i understand that... :thumbsup2

Thought you might! Haha;)

BEAUTIFUL!!!!! you do a lovely job!!! :worship:

Thank you so much!

I am up to speed!!! :cheer2:

:yay::yay::yay:

Aww!!! THANK YOU... yet-you'd be surprised in what i miss.. :sad2:

I think you'll like something Dan and I did toward the end of our trip. Stay tuned. popcorn::

OHHHHHHHHHHH A FIRST TRIP!!!!! they are the MOST MAGICAL!!!!
are you doing a Pre-trip report???

Better do one. Mo will talk you into it eventually, so you might as well give in now.:rolleyes1 Love ya Mo!!

Her hair held up pretty good for the rain and winds?!?
the picture of Caroline and Dan is SO precious!!! Oh how i miss these days!!! makes me miss the wee ones..
Not enough to have another... :scared1: So sweet!!!

They put so much goop on it, it wasn't going anywhere! Even when I took the two ponytail holders out, it didn't really fall down. I think our gal was a brick-layer in a former life. She was using a trowel!! :rotfl:

Did Mickey talk a lot? I HOPE we get the talking Mickey!!!!

Yes, he did talk a pretty good amount. Since Charlotte doesn't say much to the characters, SOMEONE had to talk! haha! It was really cool. It sounds exactly like Mickey. Don't know how they do it, but it is way cool!!

Looks like Charlotte is enjoying her trip! Can't wait to see how she spent her birthday. Little Caroline is quite a cutie too.

Thanks so much! Even when it's just Dan and I at Disney, we love to watch the little ones with the characters and in their pirate and princess outfits. Their eyes just sparkle!

Awwwww, I'm glad to hear that they went on POC okay....I'm a little worried about that one....not enough to not take them on it though :rotfl2:

:rotfl: Definitely give it a try. It was mostly the drop at the beginning they didn't like. Once that was over, they settled in and enjoyed it. Our other DGD, Selah, didn't want to even go in once she saw how dark it was…and she's not afraid of the dark. :confused3 She just didn't care to do it for some reason. I think your girls will be okay though. Hope so.:goodvibes

Boo for rain and cold but how cute is that pic with the stuffies...OMG....:goodvibes

Thanks. Mousekeeping laid them out on the bed and she just added her Minnie and herself! I really don't mind the rain, but it was so chilling! brrr. And living in Ohio, I'm used to the cold!

Of course you can still say blast!!! Retro is in!!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: (I don't think that one ever really went out...especially since I say it ALL the time!):thumbsup2

Thanks! I don't have kids at home telling me "Oh Mom, that expression is so last year!"

Sounds like she had a great day enjoying being IN the parks!!! So glad she was a trooper through the day! She is just too adorable in her Rapunzel dress you made :)

Can't wait to see what your next day holds for her REAL birthday!!!

Oh, and so glad you didn't have to start over on writing your report again! I've learned too many times the lesson of using word, lol...:lmao:

Trying to get caught up... I am so far behind everywhere!

I just loved, loved, loved that picture of Dan with Caroline! That is the sweetest ever!

That is a bummer about the bag check, especially when all you had to do was use the restroom. Sigh. But I do understand... Doesn't mean we can't grumble about it though - because that is a LONG annoying walk.

The food at CHH looks good - we have not eaten there, but everyone seems to love it. We need to make a point of it one of these trips.

Such a bummer about the downpour, and that everyone was caught in it - and boy, it can really pour in FL!

Looks like Charlotte is amassing quite the haul of stuffies... LOL How in the world are you going to get those home?

And I loved the photos of the kids signing Jennfer's cast... I hope she is doing well and healing with out much pain.

D~

Thanks, Terri. She really did have a fun time. We all did! Anything after 30 minutes was bonus, right?:rotfl:

Yes, and thanks so much for the heads up about Word. Saved my sanity for sure!

Trying to get caught up... I am so far behind everywhere!

I sure do know what that's like! Don't sweat it. I completely understand!! Do what you need to do.

I just loved, loved, loved that picture of Dan with Caroline! That is the sweetest ever!

Thanks! That's a favorite. She does love her Grandpa!

::yes::::yes::::yes::

We first ate there when we took the Keys to the Kingdom tour. We've gone back every year since. Really good food and a bit quieter atmosphere from other counter service places.

Such a bummer about the downpour, and that everyone was caught in it - and boy, it can really pour in FL!

I shouldn't complain. It held off until we were heading back, so our day wasn't spoiled by it.

Looks like Charlotte is amassing quite the haul of stuffies... LOL How in the world are you going to get those home?

I know, right? I was prepared to ship them if necessary, but Emily managed to get them back.:thumbsup2

And I loved the photos of the kids signing Jennfer's cast... I hope she is doing well and healing with out much pain.

D~

Jennifer is doing pretty well. She didn't take any pain meds yesterday because she wants to get back to nursing Amelia. She was in pain, but determined. She is learning about natural oils and how to use them for health and well being, so she's been applying I think it's lavender, or maybe eucalyptus? Not sure. Anyway, she can't drive or carry Amelia up and down the stairs, so I'll be here a while yet.

I'm exhausted. Maybe I said that before, but I really am. It's a lot of work to run a 4 child household! (esp. at my (ahem) age:rotfl:) But I'm hanging in there. God is giving me the strength I need to get the job done and I'm grateful for all the prayers coming my way. I feel it's a privilege to be able to help out and spend time with everyone. Great bonding time. Selah, the 6 year old tells me every day how glad she is that I'm here. :lovestruc

On a Disney note. Miles says he doesn't want to go to Disney next Spring. He'll be 5 in September, but he'll be starting kindergarten, so we decided to take him the following Spring. He doesn't want to fly in an airplane. We are hoping he changes his mind between now and when I need to make the plans, but I'm not sure he will. He's quite the Mama's boy as far as leaving her. But lots can change in that amount of time, so we'll see.

Duty calls, so I've gotta run! I'll try and get back later to report the birthday event. Thanks for hanging in there with me. Hope everyone has a great day!!

Running a 2 child household as the mom is quite challenging - I can't even imagine 4! How blessed they all are to have a grandma and a mom who is up to the challenge! What you are doing is truly amazing, I hope you know that! I am sure Jennifer's family is even more grateful than you know. Saying a prayer for you all this morning!

Hi Dan! I bet you are missing Lois but I'm sure Jennifer appreciates you letting her come to help out.

Taking care of little ones is not easy, especially a baby. I'm glad Jennifer is feeling better but I hope she takes the time to get better and heal. I bet all the grandkids are happy to have you there.

Charlotte looks so sweet in her Rapunzel dress, you did such a great job on that one. I love that she got all dolled up at the barber shop and that Rapunzel was so happy to see her. So cool that Mickey was "chatting" with her. :cool1: Quite an experience for your first day in the MK.

It is nice that your daughter and her family could be in Florida and Disney with you guys. The best of both worlds - time with grandma and grandpa without having to be so far away from mom and dad.

Looking forward to hearing about Charlotte's big birthday at WDW - when you get the chance of course!

You are so right. I'm glad I'm healthy enough to help out as much as I do. I'll have an update on Jennifer below. Not a good one.

Yes, it was a great day. I wish we could have stayed for the parade and Wishes, but we were glad we left when we did when the rain really started pouring! Thanks about the dress. I was so glad it still fit her. She just loves to wear it.

It is nice that your daughter and her family could be in Florida and Disney with you guys. The best of both worlds - time with grandma and grandpa without having to be so far away from mom and dad.

Yes, it really was a good thing. Her daddy had toreturn to Kuait right from Florida, so it was good to spend as much time as possible with him. And of course I always love to spend time with my family whenever possible!

Looking forward to hearing about Charlotte's big birthday at WDW - when you get the chance of course!

Soon as I add the photos, I have another installment ready to go. Hopefully soon. (if the baby takes a good nap!)

******************************************************************

Okay, update for Jennifer. She was really sick all day yesterday, but feels a little better today. Not running to the bathroom constantly at least. So that's a good thing. However, her doctor's office called to change the date she would be getting her cast off from the 18th to the 24th. Six extra days in the cast was not on her agenda. Nor mine. I expected to be here around 2 weeks. But the reason her appointment was changed was because they scheduled her for surgery on the 25th! What??? Turns out that if she needs the brace after the cast, it is another surgery and she has to be put under. :faint:

This really upset her! She is trying to get the baby back on her nursing schedule and even went off her meds early to do that. Now, aside from being almost another week additional in the cast, the brace is turning out to be a bigger deal than she'd at first thought. On top of not feeling well, she just had a hard time dealing with everything. So, I'm not sure what this means in terms of how long she'll need me here. I didn't want to be here a month again, but it's looking more and more like that's what I'll be doing. But you know, we as mothers do whatever is needed for our "kids", no matter how old they are.::yes::

Okay, I'll be adding the first half of day three shortly. Stay tuned.:wave2:

I am so sorry for the bads news for Jennifer - how discouraged she must be!

How old are her children? Would they enjoy some Mickey mail? Feel free to PM the address if it's ok to drop some post cards in the mail when we are at Disney next week.

I'll send some Jennifer focused prayers this morning. I'm sure she's so anxious to get back to being the kind of mom she's used to being.

Remember how much Charlotte likes her sleep? Well, today she was even later getting up! She had wanted to keep her hair done overnight, so she had to have a bath this morning to wash everything out. Bye bye Mickey confetti. I’ll bet the drains in Disney are chock full of glitter and pixie dust!!!

Dan went to the food court and got her some Mickey waffles, which she loved! She was quite cheerful and excited for her day. After all is was HER BIRTHDAY!!!! She saw the two outfits I had made for her and she picked out one to wear for today. Here are some pics of it under construction since I didn’t get a decent picture of it on her.

She got a ton of attention with it, starting at the bus stop. The CM there who was making sure buses came on time just made a huge deal over how much he loved it and how sad he was that they don’t make anything for guys with any of the Frozen characters.
And of course Grandpa has to instigate some silliness!

Our bus finally came and we were on our way to…..

Emily, Josh and Caroline actually got there before us. We arrived around 11:00! What?? I just have to keep saying to myself, “It’s all about Charlotte, it’s all about Charlotte”, as I’m freaking out about getting there so late. The weather is cold again, but not as cold as Ohio, so I’m all good. It is overcast and promises to rain, but that doesn’t matter. I had my first glitch with my MB at the entrance. They had to send me to a CM with a tablet to let me in. But it was resolved quickly and efficiently, so no worries.:thumbsup2

Our first order of business, we have a FP+ for Spaceship Earth. We gave our bands to Emily and Josh and they took Charlotte with them. We strolled around with Caroline, then she wanted out of the stroller, so we went into a store and she enjoyed grabbing stuffies off the shelves and rolling balls around. It was not crowded in there at this time of day, so we let her do this. Charlotte absolutely loved SE and wanted to take me to see the future as she put it.

Next up was a FP for Soarin’. We again let Josh and Emily take our bands and take Charlotte on the ride while we entertained Caroline. She enjoyed that ride as well. It was Em and Josh’s first time to ride it and they really liked it too.

After that we took Charlotte to Finding Nemo. She kept saying she wanted to take me to the future, that I would love it, but we talked her into doing Nemo first. Of course she was fascinated by it and really enjoyed it.

Okay, birthday girl, lets go to the future together! So the three of us went on SE. It was pretty much a walk on. The only reason I had a FP for it earlier was b/c I had to get 3 and we knew we couldn’t do Mission to Mars and that we wouldn’t need one for any other ride either. We would love to have done Test Track, but it was on the same tier as Soarin’.

Back to the ride, Charlotte excitedly narrated right along with Judith Dench telling me all about paper and computers and old times. She loved doing the deal at the end where you pick your future. We had a lot of laughs over that. Those photos are always so funny looking! Ours were no exception! And this one is blurry…sorry about that!

We met up with Emily, Josh and Caroline once again and Josh wanted to eat at Rose and Crown. I cancelled our Tony’s ressie for the next evening so we would have enough credits for Rose and Crown. Dan and I had eaten there once before and really enjoyed it, so we were happy to eat there again. No food pics...again! But I had the steak with veggies, Dan had the salmon, Emily had the Cottage Pie, which looked delish, but I can’t have white potatoes. Josh had the fish and chips. These were HUGE portions people!!! Dan and I could have split either of our dishes! We ordered dessert, because it came with it, but gave it to Josh and Emily to share. Can’t remember what it was, but I think it was something like a fruit cobbler. They brought our birthday girl a light up Tinkerbell with her drink and a little cupcake for dessert as well as a crown that all the staff had signed on the inside. Later they brought another light up character for Caroline which I thought was especially sweet of them. :lovestruc

In the middle of our meal, it started to rain, so I took a poncho out to cover the stroller and found that the staff of the restaurant had already covered all the strollers there. Now that is service! I was very impressed with that little bit of pixie dust! pixiedust:

We left the Rose & Crown and Charlotte, Dan and I headed for Future World again to get some pics taken. When you have a Disney Visa card, you can get your picture taken with characters (usually Mickey and Minnie and Goofy) and get a 5x7 for free. We waited in a brief line and in no time at all we were there with Mickey and Goofy. However, once she saw them, Charlotte decided she didn’t want her picture taken after all, so we just waved to them and went on our way. Bummer! Maybe the talking Mickey of the day before had freaked her out? Not sure. She didn’t have any problems with any other character interactions, so that’s just a guess.

After that, she and Grandpa learned all about fire safety while I sat on a bench and played games on my phone. You know, there are some really neat things to be seen and experienced in both Innovention areas. We never take the time to do any of them and more, but I think future trips may include exploring those areas once again.

Somewhere along the line, we took this picture. Not sure when it was.

What is next up??? Will it be something special for the Birthday Girl? Will she insist on going back to the hotel? I’ll have to come back later and answer all these burning questions.

I just want to thank all of you who are following along. My current circumstances with my daughter make it so difficult to get on here on a regular basis for the length of time it takes to do a proper report. I feel so badly for her. It has been such a long time since she’s been able to walk properly or bathe her children or take them to the park or just even get down in the floor with them to play a game or goof around. She is brave most of the time, but sometimes it’s just so hard. And that’s hard for me to see. I really do appreciate the prayers coming our way. They do make a difference! Thank you!:lovestruc

Blessings and prayers foe Jennifer any you and the entire family. You must be exhausted and it must be so hard emotionally too for Jennifer

I am really enjoying the report and the slow pace is perfect for me. I am really behind on all my grading and housework so having your report to come too in between is nice. And I am not feeling really behind in it.

What day was Charlotte's birthday. I think I remember seeing Dan and her sitting at the bus stop at FQ that say. I too was traveling with a girl who never wanted to get up. And like younI was restraining myself to go with the flow

She is just such a doll!!! Beautiful little girl. I love the going to the future!! that's a riot!
Her dress is amazing.. Love her shoes match! :goodvibes

Jennifer is always in my prayers..

excited too see what happens for the birthday girl!!!

I would love to have that birthday - sleeping in, custom made Frozen clothing, and Mickey waffles - sounds good to me! :thumbsup2

We all understand how busy you are, I am happy to follow along and wait patiently until you have time to update. You do what you need to do and we will be here following along when you have time.

Saying prayers for you and Jennifer this morning. I'm sure her heart aches while she is unable to be the kind of mom she is used to being. It is such a blessing to her and her family that you can be there to help. I'm sure they are so appreciative. I am so sorry for what she is going through.

Thanks so much for the offer of Mickey Mail, but these are the least aware Disney kids on the planet. Selah, who is 6, loved her time at Disney, but our DD does not promote Disney at all. She "tolerates" my bringing it into their lives. It was a sweet offer, though. And Thanks for the prayers!!

I am so sorry to hear this.. I hope she feels better.. i am really sorry..

Thanks so much, Mo.

I'm glad you're enjoying my slow pace! I also like it when I can't get on for a few days and don't have that many pages to read to get caught up!

Charlotte's birthday was Feb 7th and yes there was a pic of Dan and Charlotte at the bus stop that day. I have to finish the second part of the day next. Yes, this trip was a lesson in restraint. Hard for us Disney fanatics!!:rotfl:

Fly by to say Hi!

Prayers for your entire family - Jennifer, You, Dan & anyone else who might need it.

You asked how I was - not to bad, but I should be doing my neck/shoulder exercises more. And I'm getting old - my arthritis acts up when it rains. Another reason I should be doing my neck/shoulder exercises. :lmao:

Back to work for me.
