Remember how much Charlotte likes her sleep? Well, today she was even later getting up! She had wanted to keep her hair done overnight, so she had to have a bath this morning to wash everything out. Bye bye Mickey confetti. I’ll bet the drains in Disney are chock full of glitter and pixie dust!!!
Dan went to the food court and got her some Mickey waffles, which she loved! She was quite cheerful and excited for her day. After all is was
HER BIRTHDAY!!!! She saw the two outfits I had made for her and she picked out one to wear for today. Here are some pics of it under construction since I didn’t get a decent picture of it on her.
She got a ton of attention with it, starting at the bus stop. The CM there who was making sure buses came on time just made a huge deal over how much he loved it and how sad he was that they don’t make anything for guys with any of the Frozen characters.
And of course Grandpa has to instigate some silliness!
Our bus finally came and we were on our way to…..
Emily, Josh and Caroline actually got there before us. We arrived around 11:00! What?? I just have to keep saying to myself, “It’s all about Charlotte, it’s all about Charlotte”, as I’m freaking out about getting there so late. The weather is cold again, but not as cold as Ohio, so I’m all good. It is overcast and promises to rain, but that doesn’t matter. I had my first glitch with my MB at the entrance. They had to send me to a CM with a tablet to let me in. But it was resolved quickly and efficiently, so no worries.
Our first order of business, we have a FP+ for Spaceship Earth. We gave our bands to Emily and Josh and they took Charlotte with them. We strolled around with Caroline, then she wanted out of the stroller, so we went into a store and she enjoyed grabbing stuffies off the shelves and rolling balls around. It was not crowded in there at this time of day, so we let her do this. Charlotte absolutely loved SE and wanted to take me to see the future as she put it.
Next up was a FP for Soarin’. We again let Josh and Emily take our bands and take Charlotte on the ride while we entertained Caroline. She enjoyed that ride as well. It was Em and Josh’s first time to ride it and they really liked it too.
After that we took Charlotte to Finding Nemo. She kept saying she wanted to take me to the future, that I would love it, but we talked her into doing Nemo first. Of course she was fascinated by it and really enjoyed it.
Okay, birthday girl, lets go to the future together! So the three of us went on SE. It was pretty much a walk on. The only reason I had a FP for it earlier was b/c I had to get 3 and we knew we couldn’t do Mission to Mars and that we wouldn’t need one for any other ride either. We would love to have done Test Track, but it was on the same tier as Soarin’.
Back to the ride, Charlotte excitedly narrated right along with Judith Dench telling me all about paper and computers and old times. She loved doing the deal at the end where you pick your future. We had a lot of laughs over that. Those photos are always so funny looking! Ours were no exception! And this one is blurry…sorry about that!
We met up with Emily, Josh and Caroline once again and Josh wanted to eat at Rose and Crown. I cancelled our Tony’s ressie for the next evening so we would have enough credits for Rose and Crown. Dan and I had eaten there once before and really enjoyed it, so we were happy to eat there again. No food pics...again! But I had the steak with veggies, Dan had the salmon, Emily had the Cottage Pie, which looked delish, but I can’t have white potatoes. Josh had the fish and chips. These were HUGE portions people!!! Dan and I could have split either of our dishes! We ordered dessert, because it came with it, but gave it to Josh and Emily to share. Can’t remember what it was, but I think it was something like a fruit cobbler. They brought our birthday girl a light up Tinkerbell with her drink and a little cupcake for dessert as well as a crown that all the staff had signed on the inside. Later they brought another light up character for Caroline which I thought was especially sweet of them.
In the middle of our meal, it started to rain, so I took a poncho out to cover the stroller and found that the staff of the restaurant had already covered all the strollers there. Now that is service! I was very impressed with that little bit of pixie dust!
We left the Rose & Crown and Charlotte, Dan and I headed for Future World again to get some pics taken. When you have a Disney Visa card, you can get your picture taken with characters (usually Mickey and Minnie and Goofy) and get a 5x7 for free. We waited in a brief line and in no time at all we were there with Mickey and Goofy. However, once she saw them, Charlotte decided she didn’t want her picture taken after all, so we just waved to them and went on our way. Bummer! Maybe the talking Mickey of the day before had freaked her out? Not sure. She didn’t have any problems with any other character interactions, so that’s just a guess.
After that, she and Grandpa learned all about fire safety while I sat on a bench and played games on my phone. You know, there are some really neat things to be seen and experienced in both Innovention areas. We never take the time to do any of them and more, but I think future trips may include exploring those areas once again.
Somewhere along the line, we took this picture. Not sure when it was.
What is next up??? Will it be something special for the Birthday Girl? Will she insist on going back to the hotel? I’ll have to come back later and answer all these burning questions.
I just want to thank all of you who are following along. My current circumstances with my daughter make it so difficult to get on here on a regular basis for the length of time it takes to do a proper report. I feel so badly for her. It has been such a long time since she’s been able to walk properly or bathe her children or take them to the park or just even get down in the floor with them to play a game or goof around. She is brave most of the time, but sometimes it’s just so hard. And that’s hard for me to see. I really do appreciate the prayers coming our way. They do make a difference! Thank you!
