Oh gosh, I somehow didn't realize that existing members are going to have to call in to book for that initial period...that is gonna be a stressful morning.😖
Have you met Disney IT? Lol just imagine them trying to lock the reservations that are within 7 months to only Poly users during the initial priority booking window, they would break everything else in the system

I have a question about waitlists. Let's say I try to book a room type that exists, but the only "free" ones are not yet declared by the time I get through to book. If I waitlist (let's assume I'm #1 on that waitlist), and that room type is part of a subsequent declaration, once it becomes available, it should be automatically assigned as part of waitlist fulfilment, right? Like, there isn't anything special about newly declared waves, is there? Assuming, of course, it isn't already booked for a cash stay.
making a waitlist on day 1 will put you right at the front of the line for any new declarations, i will definitely be doing that for the june 1bd nights that i want if i'm not able to secure them. a ton of vdh owners had success with that when they didn't get the rooms right away.

I think you’re approach on the front part of the vacation is correct. Saratoga Springs is an awesome resort especially if you’re gonna go to a waterpark (for free starting in January!) on your arrival day and/or maybe go out to dinner at Disney Springs. We own at PVB, but stayed at SSR once and absolutely loved it since it as a non-park trip for us.

As far as getting a 1 bedroom at PVB is concerned….your best bet is to be flexible on your dates. There are no guarantees you'll have the fastest hand at 8am EST when booking opens. Being flexible on your dates may help to open up options for you. In addition, and I know this has been brought up already, but I would personally consider a 1 bedroom or a 2 bedroom for the rest of your trip even if it means booking at another resort (depending on how many points you have of course). Personally, I'd rather stay for 5-6 nights in a 1 or 2 bedroom at the less point heavy resorts (SSR, OKW, AKL, or BWV) than stay for 8 nights in a Poly studio with 4 adults and 2 young kids. And this is coming from someone who loves the Poly studios as I feel they are plenty spacious for you, your wife, and 2 kids....but adding the in-laws to the mix could definitely make that feel pretty cramped over the course of 7-8 nights. Just my 2 cents.
We thought about this but we are the people that literally only use the room to sleep. My wife, 4 year old, and I will be at the parks rope drop to close. Son did it as a 2.5 year old.
My wife had mentioned is 1BR at SSR better then being in the Poly. We really don't know the answer to this being new to DVC. We love MK and will be there at least 2 of the days we are there so being close to that is a big factor.

Very cool that your little one can go rope drop to close! In that case, I completely understand the desire to be close to MK. If you're doing all 4 parks and at least 2 days at MK, then it may make sense to do a true split stay. 4 nights in a 1 or 2 bedroom at a lower point resort, and you use those days to go to Disney Springs, Animal Kingdom, and Hollywood Studios. And then your 4 nights in a Poly studio you'd use those days to go to MK and Epcot since you'll have direct access to the monorail.

If you are still in the rope drop mindset then location is not going to matter as much esp if your 1 year old can nap in the stroller.
As others have mentioned go stay somewhere else for a tad more points and more comfort.
AKL 280 points for a Standard 1 Bedroom for a week at the most expensive time.
PVB 242 points for a Standard studio for a week at the most expensive time.

That is 38 points more or a little under 6 points a night extra for space, kitchen, laundry and an extra bathroom.

Since you are bringing parents I would probably stay at SSR with the Murphy bed though as opposed to OKW or AKV that just have the pull out couch although it is a bit more during the most expensive time.

If you need naps in the room or the 4 year old sees that great splash pad you may find yourself not staying open to close and then it is certainly easier to get back to the room at PVB then taking a bus to other locations.

Edit: Only BLT, AKV Kidani and the new Tower have the extra bathroom in the 1 bedrooms

This is actual footage of my boys the first time they saw a rotary phone :D

My daughters recently stayed with their great-grandparents, and were THRILLED to be able to call me from the "old-fashioned" phone.

It wasn't a rotary phone. It wasn't even a corded phone! It was a normal circa-2005 cordless house phone. But for them, it might as well have been a gosh-danged victrola.

Okay. Let me get this straight.

1. I can put down payment on my dream 150 point direct Poly contract on a card instead of using the cash I have saved.

2. I can split this payment ($7,000) over 90 days, at which point the Disney Direct financing will take out the rest of the balance. And I could use my Disney Visa to stretch that another 6 months?

3. I am a member for more than a year and would agree to auto draft so I could get 8.99% that would start after the 90 days are over. with an October 1 buy that might be January 1 first payment?

4. As soon as I have points in my account I can market my resale to pay down the loan?

4. I can pay the balance of the loan next April with my retirement bonus WITH A CREDIT CARD?
Quick question on this...I just talked to my guide (counselor now, I guess?) and he said the loan payments can NOT be paid with a credit card. Is that just the auto monthly withdrawals, though? If I wanted to pay a bigger amount at any time could I do that on a credit card?

UPDATE: I should have googled first - I found this info right on the DVC site. 1724961584451.png

With being a rope drop family, one really nice part of PVB longhouse studios is two separate shower areas. Toilet, Tub/Shower, Sink in one. Nicer shower and sink in another. Most 1BRs do not have two areas like this. I recall AKV and BLT have it. Not sure if any of the newer resorts added this. Pretty sure PVB tower 1BRs will. I don't believe SSR 1BRs have two shower areas.

Yes the PVB will have 2 bathrooms. The other resorts with an extra bathroom in the 1/2 bedrooms are Kidani at AKV and BLT.
All other 1 bedrooms have just 1 bathroom with a shower and a separate jacuzzi/soaker tub in a different area.

The PVB, VGF and RIV Deluxe (not Resort) studios all have 1 bathroom but also have an extra shower.
The PVB are actually 2 rooms with drywall separating them where the RIV & VGF use a pocket door in the middle to add privacy.

All other studios just have 1 bathroom with a shower. Most are the tub shower combos but CCV has some that are shower only.

Is it a coincidence that Disney released a bunch of Polynesian information August 22nd and the license amendment is happening 5 days later? That's about how long the shortest timeframe is for deeds signed and then showing up on occompt website.

Is @pkrieger2287 traveling this weekend or next week by any chance?
I’ve been on property the past two days for things and was convinced we’d at least get points charts while I was here.

We received the point chart and pricing (minus incentives) for VDH two weeks prior to it going on sale. Same with Cabins at FW.

https://dvcfan.com/dvc-resorts/the-...s-resort-points-charts-favorable-for-members/

We should know *something* soon as I can't imagine it goes on sale later than 10/1, but we'll see!
You’re right. Got mixed up with the incentives that are released overnight.
