Is your dog a "lap" dog?

Yes, she's a miniture pincher. She loves to be on people's laps. She's lucky she's so cute, because she gets into a ton of mischief. At 9 years old you would think she would know better. She's like the "Dennis The Menace" of Dogs, she's just so fresh, but lovable.

Yes I have 4 lap dogs....Its natural for pugs...they want to be right there with you all the time. Of course they all try to be in your lap at once...and at 15-20lbs each....thats a lot of dog in your lap...LOL

well, since she's not allowed on the 'good' furniture, she claims her chair all to herself.

on the occasion that I'll sit with her (as I only clean that chair once a week and it's COVERED in dog hair 3 hours after I clean it), she lays right on my lap (sometimes, at 50lbs, she gets to be a bit much)

she's our "bed warmer" in the winter though...very good for that!

My FIL rescued a black lab / St Bernard mix when he was a year old. To this day (7 years later) as soon as FIL comes home from work, he sits in the rocker and the dog climbs all the way up and sits smack dab in his lap - all 106 lbs of him. They stay for about 10 minutes and then the dog is secured and is happy go down on the floor.

My dog weighs 75 pounds but she puts her paws up in your lap (which hurts a lot because they'r rough) and won't move until you pick her up and hold her

Anything though for the precious baby girl dog...

My Petey is a 7# apricot toy poodle and yes he's quite the lap dog. He LIVES to be cuddled. But I don't hold him as much as I used to. He seems content to lay on the recliner next to the computer or even better, in my basket with my crochet projects. I don't like to hold him so much because he's a licker. He licks anything and everything. Himself, the couch, the air, but especially me and it drives me crazy. I don't like being licked.

My golden thinks she's a lap dog, though she is rather heavy. She also thinks she's a couch dog, she sometimes sneaks onto the couch when mommy isn't looking. But then she feels guilty when mommy gives her the look, and then she'll jump off the couch.

I am also the proud mother to a 6 year old Jack Russell who is the biggest baby I have ever seen!!!! I am not able to go into any room without him being right on my heels. If I stop too quick he has been known to bump into me When I come home from work he jumps from a sitting position all the way up to my shoulder in one leap. Mind you I am only 5'1" but that is pretty far. I have to hold him for about 10 minutes if I try to put him down before he is ready he actually holds on to my neck and won't let go. He has become more clingy since we had his best friend put to sleep in May.

Well, we have 3 dogs and 2 are lap dogs. Skip is a toy poodle mix and he goes everywhere with ds. And my little shihtzu/toy poodle mix is always in my lap and sleeps right next to me too. I feel a little lap naked right now since she is at the groomer's!

Sambuca, a big old Lab mix, thinks she can sneak into your lap gradually, and you won't notice. First one paw, then her head, then a shoulder, then another paw, then.... suddenly, you're COVERED in dog!

Yep. Her name is Minnie Mouse and she is under the impression I was put on this Earth so that she would have a lap (and keyboard) to sleep on. I don't know. She might be right.

My boxer tries to snuggle up slowly and make his way up onto my lap all the time!...SSHHH! Nobody told him he weighs 75 pounds!
