Is WDW as crowded as DL?

Personally I thought that the crowds at DL, especially in the evening and at night, were much worse than at WDW. And we went to WDW at Thanksgivng!!

Disneyland is so much smaller and the walkways are narrow, so the crowds just feel so much more dense in my opinion.

DL just has less overall space so it feels more crowded. WDW spreads the people out, not just over 4 parks, but over generally more space within them. Wait times though can be just as bad at both, though it's interesting how certain things are much more popular at one than at the other.

The bold is what we took out of our trip
It doesn't every feel as crowded even if there are more people there

We went at the end of August 2015 and Saturday and Sunday were super crowded (Sunday was also the day Passholders were officially unblocked so it was a zoo) but Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday were not too bad at least during the daytime. It is a smaller park, so I definitely think it feels more crowded but we used the heck out of fastpass and I purchased a touring optimizer app (can't remember the name right now). We never waited more than 15-20 minutes for any ride and we were able to ride multiple rides to our hearts content (Indy, Big Thunder Mountain!). On our last trip in early May 2014 to DW I felt like the wait times were ridiculously long, and given only 3 FP+ (plus one more if we got one), I felt like we weren't able to do half as much in the amount of time we got done at DL. I really fell in love with DL and can't wait to go back in 2017 hopefully!

I agree here. I have been to Disneyland Ca 2 times (summer visits) and to Disney World in FL about 10 times.
Disneyland is a smaller park but it has more attractions than the MK. The MK has more visitors over Disneyland. In one sense, which is the lines, I think Ca. can handle crowds better as it has more rides and that spreads people to more places. In another sense, which is elbow room and room to breathe, Disneyland feels more packed though as it is a smaller park.

That's correct that Disneyland is situated on a smaller plot of land, but the park overall has higher capacity due to the larger number of attractions. I'm surprised that Disney does this, but if you really want to compare how busy they are, you can just look at the wait times on each resort's respective apps. Then you can really tell which parks are bursting with people.
