Is This a Reasonable Rquest

I plan on going home to SSR over the next Thanksgiving Holiday(21-28 Nov). I plan on renting a 1-Br for the first part of our stay and when my sister comes over from Tampa on Thanksgiving I would like to have a 2-Br for Thursday night (25 Nov). She will be leaving the next day and I would like to just keep the Studio portion of the 2-Br for the remainder of the trip to stretch out our points. Am I asking for too much? Is this something that you think MS could accomodate or do I need to rethink my plan? This will be our first trip and I would appreciate any help that you experienced DVC'ers could provide.

Reducing the size of the unit being rented is not much of a problem is you get a lockoff. The problem comes when you want to increase size just for that thurs. I would think MS would need to try to slot you in exactly next to someone renting a studio and leaving weds nite before your sister arrives. My recommendation would be to take the 2 BR for the beginning of the stay then downsize when DS leaves, or make your request as you had planned and be prepared that you might have to move when you upsize.

As suggested, keeping the studio after the 2BR can usually be easily acoommodated. The tought part will be adding the studio to the 1BR for the 1 night. You may need to change rooms to accomplish that part of the stay.

When you make the reservation, explain what you want to do to the CM and have them note the request. When you check in at the resort next fall, you will need to confirm what you want to happen. It can be done, but there may be a move involved.

We have decreased from a 2BR to a 1BR without needing to move several times in the past and have requested a change from a 1BR to a 2BR for our next trip- I am prepared to have to move at that time.

...And if the number of points isn't an issue - I would consider your upgrade to a 2BR on <i>Wednesday</i> instead of Thursday - so you won't possibly be looking at a 5-hour period without a room on Thanksgiving Day...
