Is this a glitch on the WDW website with the Aug 14 - Oct 1 room only discounts?

Earlier today I was surprised that WDW added another set of room only discounts from August 14th - October 1st, because they previously had a set of discounts for those same dates that needed to be reserved by March 27, 2011. Anyway just for one I was looking up dates from August 31st - September 4th which are the days I will be staying at the Beach Club. Anyway when the rates came up for the Contemporary and Grand Floridian which are the ones I selected, they were listed as a Magic Your Way Package with tickets for 5 days. So is that a mistake with the WDW website? When I click on the special offers page the discount is listed in the rooms section, so shouldn't that mean it's a room only reservation and not a package deal?

I just checked those dates and for CR it comes up without the tickets and no CL available. The price for just a regular room in the Garden Wing only is 1564.

I don't know what the glitch is, earlier I couldn't get into the discount at all to check on the prices, and now I can. I wonder if it would be better to call CRO and ask?

I have been trying to get into it all day and it just takes me back to the specials page. It was so frustrating I decided to give up.

I had the same issue as you when pricing. I could not remove the tickets from the discount and just book the room only online. I had no problem when I called in though.

Sometimes when you click on a special offer, it won't let you back out. I find that if I close my browser and re-open another one the problem clears itself up.

I will say that I had that pin emailed to me a couple of weeks ago. I'm great at getting pins, just none I can ever use.

I love the fine print on this deal - its actually through Sept 29 not Oct. 1 because Sept 30 and Oct 1 are a Friday and Saturday.

I was able to get CSR to come up as a room only for Sept 10th-Sept 18th.

However, it doesn't seem to be as good a deal as the bounceback I booked when I was down there earlier this month. The same type CSR room (standard) for the same dates was $1195.00 ($139.00 for weekends and $129.00 for weeknights) with this deal. I just checked my email confirmation for the bounceback deal I booked and that same room was $981.37 ($113 for weekends and $106.00 for weeknights).

However, just out of curiosity I also checked the price for the same room using the free dining deal. That same standard CSR room for those same dates for a solo traveler with a two day base ticket, came out to $1774.33. That's $792.96 than I'm paying now. I already have my AP, so don't need the 2 day park ticket I priced free dining with, nor do I have any interest in that silly memory book they're making you buy this year in order to get free dining. I was hoping for an AP discount that might beat that Bounceback, but now I don't really think the AP discount will beat it. Compared to this new GP code and the free dining deal, my bounceback deal is looking better and better.

It's hit and miss. I was able to get through on the room only discount. Looking at the Poly for September, it was a better deal adding on the tickets and meal plan if you wanted it as opposed to the free dining offer by almost a couple of hundred.
Of course the true value in free dining is when booking a value or moderate resort.

My mother called last night to get the deal at WL since we are staying there for my wedding and it's a better deal than the wedding deal. Initially they told her they couldn't find it and didn't know what she was talking about. After calling back a few minutes later, the second person found the discount but said rooms were no longer available at WL. How frustrating - do they put out just 2 rooms at that rate?
