Okay.....in no way am I saying that it is okay to circumvent any rules at WDW!! Come on now......I have been told one thing about valet parking, others have been told something else. Why is what I was told 'wrong' but something else is 'right'? As for having to show resort ID in order to get into a resort parking area...it just isn't so. I've driven in, with my ds, and only been asked what my purpose was. I told the gatekeeper I was there to visit a friend. I was, in fact, telling the truth. But, the gatekeeper never checked anything..no name, room number, nothing. Same thing when my father drove to BW to spend a day with me. He was just waved through, whereupon he used valet parking services. So.....is it only at the CR that these 'other' rules hold up? I can't say for sure. All I can base stuff on are my own experiences...no questions asked at the guard shack, no 3 hr. permits given out..nothing.
But, again I am not advising breaking any rules. I'm just not altogether sure what the rules are. No one has been able to confirm any valet parking rules. Some are told one thing, others another thing.
But, in any case...I still don't think there are all that many people playing $10+ dollars for valet parking rather than pay to park at the TTC. I've walked through parking lots before, both at the CR as well as at BW, Poly, BC, POP, and have yet to see a ton of 3 hr. parking permits. Yeah, I know..you aren't going to see them at POP, but because of proximity to Epcot, you would see them at BW as well as BC. Same thing for the Polynesian and MK.
Basically, it is going to cost you the same thing to park at the CR as at TTC, but you will have to either walk back there or take the monorail, vs. the boat or monorail to TTC from MK. It's pretty close to a wash I would think. I just don't see it as a big issue. People will do what they are allowed to do. If no one tells you when you valet park that you have only 3 hrs parking, then how would you know otherwise? People will just hand over the keys and go off about their business. So.....bottom line....if valet parking is only for parking while eating/shopping at that particular resort, then it should be stated someplace. But, I have yet to see that. I have stood, at the CR, while others have valet parked, and no one has said a thing to them about where they are staying, where they are going, what they are doing. They just take the fee, and park the car. Sorry guys, but that has been my experience at the CR. No one has been questioned. So...how are they breaking any rules? How am I advocating rule breaking?
I will always tell people that refilling your mugs from a '01 stay at POP at the Polynesian this summer is basically against the written rules. As is hopping to another resort's pool. Again, there is signage to this effect. But, I haven't seen any signage about who can use valet parking, and for what purposes. Please stop suggesting that I am recommending that people ignore Disney rules!!! That is just not the case. Not to mention against board guidelines!!!
