Is there tax charged on the DDP?

No tax on DDP.

Actually, there IS tax, but it's already included in the price you pay for the DDP. An 18% tip is also included on the table service meals, so you're really paying about $31 for food and the rest for taxes and tip.

Any recommendations on the Dining Plan - especially at DTD, Magic Kingdom, EPCOT

In DTD, we love Earl of Sandwich and Wolfgang Puck's Cafe is good too.
In Epcot - we've been to LeCellier, Teppanyaki, and Harry's Fish & Chips
In MK, my friend has been to Tony's Town Square and they love it.
