Is there an emergency exit on the skyliner? Where?

I searched, and kept finding information about how rescue crews might get people out of the skyliner if an evacuation were needed.
But my nightmare scenario is what if there were some catastrophic issue and my gondola was now sinking into the lake? Is there a way cabin occupants can get out? I couldn't tell from the videos I watched, and tbh this might one day make a difference in whether I'd book at Pop or AoA.
I really don't want it to be easy for a fool or malicious person to just open the doors at random times while in the air. But, if I'm in a lake, I'd rather take my chances swimming with the algae and alligators than just sitting there submerged underwater.

That describes what will happen if your gondola is dangling over water and you need rescuers to come get you out.
But that won't help if you're down in the water.
It might help them recover your drowned body, but that's not really ideal, imho. And you could be quite drowned b/c the skyliner is designed for airflow. Not airtight means not watertight either, doesn't it?

I am pretty sure they cant become unattached.. maybe check the manufacturer website

I'm envisioning sagging into the water (probably due to a tower issue) rather than becoming unattached. I have pretty good faith that the cables aren't going to easily break either.

I can't argue with that, it just seems there probably is an emergency exit method that I just haven't seen yet. Doesn't just about everything have an emergency exit?

When the skyliner stops there is a radio system where they let you know what is going on. I would assume if there was a need they could tell you how to get out of the cabin. This would probably never happen as most the the time you are too high in the air to survive a fall should you get out.

They wouldnt put a release inside the cabin. I could foresee this causing more issues with folks falling out. The windows are not super sturdy I am sure in dier situation you can kick them open. they will not be water tight.

No worries there. I never jump out of gondolas or airplanes.

Okay, maybe that's the answer then. Kick out whatever window ends up being easiest to kick out, then swim.

Yea, wouldn't you have a larger chance of being in a serious car accident going to the airport (or to work, the store, school, whatever) than being in a submerged skyliner cabin?

I think the large windows are polycarbonate, not glass. You probably couldn't break them, but I don't know whether they would pop out if hit hard enough.

There are fail safe mechanisms both at the poles and on the gondola to brake the line. Say in the godawful chance the line broke… first the slack line would be held at pole, plus your gondola would clamp to the line.

That’s what someone explained to me at least. The gondola at worst would swing like a pendulum, it wouldn’t make it to the ground or lake.

Just take whatever you have ready to use in your vehicle every time you cross a river. I mean don’t you have just as good of a chance that the bridge will collapse or you will be run of the road over the side and your doors won’t open.

I recommend you take the bus. Just less for you to worry about. The Skyliner does stop every once in a while during service, usually only for a few minutes. You wouldn't want to have a panic attack in there if that happens. It's nothing to worry about but you sound anxious about riding it (and that's okay as we all have our phobias), so the bus is probably the better option for you.

I do have one of those things .... somewhere. Now that I'm not living in Florida crossing water all the time I no longer have it handy.

OK I'm not extremely worried about it anyhow. Just possibly concerned enough to find CBR more appealing that AoA or Pop because of the lake stretch. Oddly enough, without that lake part, CBR wouldn't be my first choice of the 3 (though any Disney resort is better than not being at Disney.)

No worries about the stops or swinging. I'm fine with that.
I just was hoping there was some sort of escape latch for underwater emergencies.
