Is there an emergency exit on the skyliner? Where?

I will agree ANY THING is possible. If the gondola falls into the water: It would be similar to your car going over a bridge- some one is monitoring the system and will alter Reedy Creek.
Sad to say just like alot of things in life, you may die. There is only so much we can prevent or should worry about.

If this is going to be a concern /fear for you --- take Uber, taxi, drive your self, or a Disney bus.

It reminds me of riding in an elevator where people always worry about getting stuck in it or how to get out. You are safer staying in the elevator then trying to climb out like you see in those disaster movies. For the skyliner, I would imagine how to open the door from the inside isn't obvious since way more can go wrong if you open the door needlessly when high up in the air. Several things would probably have to go wrong to fall to the ground.

Um, do we have any reason to believe that Hourglass Lake (at POP/AoA) is actually deep enough to drown in? My guess is that if a Skyliner car came down (hopefully with a gradual descent), we'd just be kind of stuck in waist-deep water, worrying about UTIs and flesh-eating bacteria.

I agree, opening from the inside is *not* something that needs to be easy to do maliciously, or unintentionally.
Lol about the water depth. I had wondered about that. Obviously one sure way to prevent most drownings in my worst case scenario of a gondola ending up in the lake would be to have portions of the lake under the skyliner shallow enough that a gondola couldn't become submerged. Or alternatively, to have enough air-filled pockets somewhere in each gondola so that it would float. Oh well, as I said above, I'm not extremely terrified that this is about to happen. I'd just like to know the possibility did occur to the designers, and what solution, if any, they came up to. When I started this thread, I half expected someone to reply that "oh yes, there's a handle to open a latch in ___ location". But it seems that isn't the case.

I do believe there is a boat stationed on the lake for emergencies, but that could have only been during construction. The rescuers should be able to get the door open and get you out.
