Is there a downside to an Annual Pass?

We had one trip planned next Oct. so we were planning on just getting park hoppers (we're staying offsite).

BUT now....We just won a free 4day trip to Orlando....we may be visiting DH parents for New Years in Sarasota....plus we live in AL so a few days over next summer is not out of the question....

So my question is...IS there a downside to buying an Annual Pass?

Unless you buy the Premium Annual Pass, you won't get free admission to the water parks or Pleasure Island. These are free as Plus Options on hopper passes.

On the other hand, parking is free!!!

Yep, there's a downside. You'll spent the year trying to figure out how to get in "just one more" trip! We're going for two weeks very soon, and I'm hoping we can get back in August. That's right before they expire. Diana

I second what Dianca said, the down side is wanting more and more and more. Once you have an AP you will see a cheap hotel rate and have no reason not to take advantage of it!!

Beware of the AP, they are addictive.

We dropped the PAP's two years ago for this reason. We started getting them because over two trips, they save money. But when they hypnotize you into taking four trips, they cost you a fortune....


But beyond that, if you're going for eight or more days, no there's no downside. Heed Donna in Oz, though, and consider the PAP.

You guys are frightening me!! I haven't even bought the things and I'm feeling the pull!!!!!!!

I'm in the process of listing the pros/cons of each. Putting $ aside...you would suggest the PAP over the AP because of the water park/Disney Quest, right? That's what I would choose also.

Now for the Park hoppers....what's the difference then in getting those instead of the PAP....just that you are limited to the # of days you can use?
