Is the Passporter worth it

I ordered mine directly from Passporter, and have had it for over a week. It is worth it. I find that every time I think I know everything about WDW, someone comes along with a tip or secret I did not know. The Passporter sort of brings it all into one place. Yes-definitely worth it.

Not to start a fight, but did you look a Passporter over or are just relying on other's opinion?

Guess I could spend all that time looking things up at the sites and you are correct, most is available - but I just don't have that much time on my hands. I like the information readily available and the Passporter has everything I want right at my fingertips.

Before I made copies of everything on the sites and ended up with pages of papers that were always mixed up and a hassle to review. I like to be very well-organized!

I think the Passporter was well worth the money saving me both time and printer ink!

...you are a busy girl posting this morning! I keep seeing your posts everywhere!

I just wanted you to know that I clicked on your link, and the tag fairies are right...you are a talented writer and you made me cry too. :( So sorry to hear of your loss. I can't even imagine.

The time I save by looking things up in the Passporter and not on line is being put to good use! ; ) Little joke there!

Hey, please don't ever feel sorry for me - it's the people who never had a child like Kayla in their lives that I feel sorry for. She was incredible and I was blessed to have been chosen to be her mother.

My story is just one of many - my daughter didn't suffer, she passed painlessly and although grieving nearly cost us our lives (depression), we became blessed through the challenges we faced and now are stronger for it.

That's why I am such a strong advocate for organ donation - we all need to think and make an informed decision, that way if the question about donation ever comes up we will have already formulated our answer. Whether yes or no, I will still stress that the "yes" will give you more satisfaction later on than a "no" will.
I know that her life here was short but it had meaning and it goes on.

My dearest Tag Fairy was much too generous in her praise of me!!!!!!! (She's the true talent and an angel in disguise! - Hugs to you Tag Fairy!)

No I don't take offense that easily! It is just a personal opinion. I bought the ringbinder Passporter for myself, and the paperback for my son's family. It is OK, but I have found the internet sites to be equally as helpful. I will probably pack the PP for our upcoming cruise, but I hate to use valuable suitcase space!!! I guess a lot depends on how much micro managing time you would want to spend. A lot is repetitive of the Castaway club and dcltribute sites and this site too - as it must be - since it encompasses all of the above and more. My aging eyes also find the type a bit difficult to read. It is a handy guide book, but I still feel a person could experience the cruise very well without it. I also found that Mickey Morgans guide on the wdwig.com site to be extremely well written. (I can read the type easier!) Actually, I had downloaded and printed the entire thing and went thru and highlighted what I wanted and threw out the rest. So again, yes it is helpful - but to me not a necessity and somewhat redundant with the other info available on the above websites. No I don't get angry should anyone disagree - afterall - everyone is entitled to their opinion.

Gotta add something - I think the website index on the PP is really super!! That is something I haven't found anywhere else and is so comprehensive with port info etc.

I should have known a "Upp-er" wouldn't take offense to a question - Mom is from Bessemer, MI!!!

I am such a control freak on everything that I do tend to "micromanage" to a point where I even try to pick out my menu for the week while still home - (trying to find when to schedule Palo generally!!!!)

Glad we can agree to disagree - that's what it's all about!!

Take care!

Yup - I'm a UPER or however you spell it. Bessemer ! I used to work in Ironwood! It is beautiful sunny, blue sky 200" snow and woke up to -20 degrees - YES that's right - 20 BELOW zero this morning. No wonder I want to go on a cruise! We live just outside of Houghton-Hancock. In case you are interested, here is a website to one of the statues at the MTU winter carnival this year. Not a good picture, but it is of Pinocchio!! In the back (can't see it is a roller coaster and to the right in the front is Monstro! Way to the left in front of Gipetto's shop is Jiminy Cricket! Every year some of the statues are Disney stuff.

Wow! That's incredible! I loved it!!! I remember living in upstate New York and seeing all the ice carvings at Saranac Lake. Just so beautiful.

Mom and I were up in your area about 2 1/2 years ago - in the fall - it was spectacular but cold, even then!!! We looked to find our relatives in the Catholic Cemetery and luck out - found them the first try!! Beautiful area and people are very friendly, even when they didn't know Mom was from the area!!!

Can't imagine how you survive winters there though - so much cold and ice. Have to be a special person to deal with it, I guess. My toes are cold just thinking about it!

Keep in touch! Maybe one day we can be on a cruise together and you can swap stories with Mom!!

Take care!

Even though I run castawayclub.com, I have actually used the Passporter to answer some of the questions that I receive via email from my website. I can never remember where all the info. on my site is located, but in the Passporter it's easy to find info. quickly. Internet resources and the info. you can get on the DIS boards are very complete, but it's also nice to have a book that you can take with you rather than a bunch of printouts.

and bought the past year one since I didnt know if I would want one or not. We had never been to WDW but had been to Disneyland many times but I was overwhelmed with information about WDW so I ordered the passporter. It contained alot of information about WDW and it was a great book but I think I could have done without it as well. It has great tips in it and I guess if you are a HUGE micro-planner down to the second of every day it would be very useful but for our family I took it with us and never once opened it again once we hit the airport on our way out. I felt VERY overwhelmed while reading it and honestly we did just fine on our own. I dont feel we lacked on our trip and we didnt do everything the book suggested. It is a great resource but it also made me feel almost too pressured to make sure I did this and saw this and went here and did that and I dont like to vacation that way. We like to kinda go with the flow and take things like they happen. Maybe we missed a great dinner show or a really good character breakfast or some great tour on the island of Nassau or something but you know what as a family we had a GREAT time regardless of what we did or didnt do or what we missed or didnt miss and to me that was all that mattered! Yes it is a great book but I dont see that it is a MUST have for everyone. If you love to plan, plan, plan and love to know that you are doing everything that there is to do when you go then the book is great but if you are not that into planning and just going with the flow I personally dont see that you would be missing out on some huge thing where your trip would absolutely stink if you didnt do something. Just my opinion and dont flame me for it...it is a great book but I wouldnt feel pressured into buying it...if you want to great but it isnt going to make your trip stink so badly that you wish you would have had it in my opinion!

Thanks hydster that's what I needed to hear. I like to plan before going and have found good info on these sites, but couldn't see what use the book would be. I tend to go with the flow when I get on the ship, given that I have already planned what I'm going to do at each port.

Thanks.

I ordered a deluxe version of the DCL passporter this week from the passporter.com site. It is great! I have been barely able to put it down since receiving it. I also got a lot of nice emails confirming my order, telling me when it was shipped, and verifying that I had received it.

It does get me even more excited about our cruise. It also has provided some information on certain aspects of the cruise that I had not considered before reading it. As a result I will be better prepared for a wonderful time!

I highly recommend it. And the binder is pretty slick with the planning pockets too!

Novices when it come to DCL. 2 cruises so far. We ordered it last Thursday night. It was here Monday morning. DW won't let me touch it yet.:( ;)

My question is about the deluxe edition. What are the PassPockets for? I'm thinking about the paperback edition but maybe those of you DISer's that have the deluxe edition can enlighten me with the advantages of the deluxe edition.

:earsboy: :earsgirl: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

I ended up buying 4 Passporters. We're doing a family reunion and I'm the only one reading the DIS board. Since I didn't want to be cast in the role of walking DCL expert, I bought copies of the Passporter for the other family members. I figure that it is the next best thing to instant DIS board access.

HansSolo here is their website:PASSPORTER It should help answer some questions. With the deluxe vesion it gives you pockets to organize PS #, tickets, passes etc. You also can print out or receive revisions to update your guide.
