Is the Passporter worth it

I've been on a number of cruises before - this is a first with Disney. I feel that I've learned alot from this board and don't feel like I need the book. Is there really that much info in the Passporter that would make it worth while.

Someone tell me what I'm missing.

My in-laws were here last weekend, and I showed it to them. My MIL's comment was, "boy, I sure wish they had these when we cruised. They would have really helped to get everyone in our party more excited about the cruise."

Northwoods, I just ordered one mainly for the ports as my DH is really the only one doing a DCL tour. You can look at ours on board and if you have a question before hand let me Know. If I find you cant live without it before hand I'll let you know.

Thanks. We have been to Cayman and Cozumel 3 times each so I don't have any questions about them. But if there is helpful hints on Key West and Castaway let me know.

I was one of the Passporter reviewers, and after 29 Disney cruises I didn't think I'd be learning anything new. But I was very pleasantly surprised...we will be bringing a copy along on our Western in May, and one of the things we will be using it for is the excellent Key West port info.

I think the beauty of the Passporter is you can the wealth of information you have found here and on other sites- with you! I am enjoying mine IMMENSELY!

Definitely a great value - as a veteran cruiser, I am still finding out things I didn't know about the ship and the Ports of Call.
It's a small charge for the wealth of information it contains.

I paid about $11.87 - free shipping because I ordered the minimum amount to qualify.

Shipping and handling is 3.99 for regular delivery.

I ordered mine from Amazon and they had a special where if you spent $25 or more you could get free shipping. There just happened to be another book that I wanted so they deleted the $4.99 shipping charge. If the passporter is all you're getting, you'll be paying around $17. I personally could have done without mine. It is a lot of repeat information from these boards. Like others have said, it does give good information on the ports, but since we're not going on a 7-day until 2004, I definately could have waited on the purchase. One nice thing about it is I can finally put a face to the name "Dave" BTW, the free shipping at Amazon was supposed to take a few days longer (don't know why) but I got my stuff exactly one week after I ordered it.

This book is absolutely wonderful. I am a voracious trip planner and have been planning for over 18 months for our July cruise. I have been reading the Passporter from cover to cover, and it is jam packed with useful information that I had not otherwise come across, as well as valuable information that is organized so that I can find it again!

I hope this isn't heresy, but if you have diligently read the posts on this site, plus dcltribute.com and castawayclub.com and the DCL cruise book (avail from travel agents), there isn't a whole lot of new info. Yes, there is some, but you could live without it.
