Is the food really THAT BAD?

“I’ll pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today.”

Mythos used to be ‘the’ best in park restaurant, in all the local parks. Menu changes and more than a few off meals has us avoiding it now

Blondies is our choice in IoA @ this time for a Dagwood sandwich. It was only mobile order last week. Observed many unhappy campers over that while we were dining

CB’s food court & main pool venue surprisingly solid, varied offerings

The BBQ restaurant has always been good, both ribs & chicken. Seasonal Food booths are awesome! the bison burgers have won local awards, I don’t eat them but, my family indicated among the best they’ve had Stacks up to WL geyser point, which is nearly double the price

JMHO the glory days of great park food disappeared during Covid. Now, it’s limited menus with the bare amount of effort/cost involved in prep

JMHO you aren’t going to find great dining in the the theme parks. Nearby resorts usually better, both for CS & TS. Just need to choose wisely after reading reviews

Just set your expectations realistically. At this point, all I hope for in the parks is decent, edible food

We do dine offsite, a lot lol
I will agree with this.

I neglected to mention, during breakfast at Stella Nova we were surrounded by bloggers. A number of them had cameras on their table and were recording while chewing their food. It was rather bizarre! I'm sure we are in the background of several videos because it was impossible to avoid them. Universal made the opening festive with music, free blueberry lemonade, and several characters/actors.

Me & my girlfriend ended up eating at CityWalk at the end of the day cause the options at Universal weren't that appealing to us.

I continue to be impressed by Thunder Terrace Falls in the Jurassic Park area. Very tender BBQ, good flavors, those roasted potatoes are lovely! Ribs were more tender than the Confisco Grille ribs (granted they're cooked differently). And it tends to be quick and non-crowded.
THIS! We've done this twice in our two big trips to USO. We all thought it was good. The first time they took too much time bringing us some of the food (during the Covid shutdown). They made up for it by bringing us all refillable drink cups which we used for all the slushy drinks we could handle in that FL heat.

I've never had bad food at Universal. I don't go to theme parks expecting cruise dinner foods. It was all really good. And I love CityWalk. Toothsome is pretty unique. And I love Jimmy Buffet's (and I don't drink - it's for the food). Both Harry Potter places serve good food. All in all, it's in the Disney level of food. Good, not great, not bad.

We've enjoyed all the restaurants we've eaten at in US and City Walk. There are a lot of unique choices and several that we hit every time we visit. I don't think the food is bad at all!

Just an aside we went to the Leaky Cauldron for lunch and the Butterbeer Cream Puff. Delicious ORDER NOW.

I have seen pictures of it and certainly plan to have one or three!!! They look gorgeous, so I`m glad to hear you enjoyed it!!

I was really worried it would be dry. I have had bad experiences with Disney special desserts. It was really good. It was the perfect balance of pastry and sweet cream.

I will add that I am not a huge fan of butterbeer. I am more of a Pumpkin Juice person. I really like hot Butterbeer (but I would like a shot of coffee added) and the ice cream. They were selling many of the cream puffs and it was really good.

It`s funny, we don`t like Butterbeer at all, but we do like the fudge, ice cream and the potted cream, weird I know, but this does sound like something we`d both enjoy.

Glad to read another good review of it.

My favorite place to eat is SF pastry company. Simple sandwich and salad/soup combo, it's a nice change from standard theme park food. Minions cafe and three broomsticks were also nice surprises for us.

This. An excellent and generous sandwich on fresh bread. In summer it's served with cut fresh melon, and in the heat that's just right.
