Is the food at Cindy's breakfast any good? Why is this so popular?

It may be a dumb question, but I can't figure this out. Is the food any good? Will my kids eat anything? Do they have pancakes or waffles or just eggs there? Also, what characters are there - just the ones from Cinderella? I know the advice is to take any PS time you get, but I don't know that I want a PS for after the park is open since that cuts into valuable park time. Thoughts on that? Thank you.

Here's the menu: http://wdwig.com/menu/menu_crb.htm

The food is OK. Not great, not terrible. But you don't go for the food. You go because you're eating in the castle and because the princesses (and Aladdin and Prince Charming) are there.

I actually liked the food .. it's no worse (or over-priced) than other Disney food fare. You have 2 breakfast options.. a healthy breakfast which consists of yogurt with granola and fruit, or the other option, which is french toast (that is amazing ..cream cheese-stuffed), eggs, etc. You also have the otpion of a little but of both if you let your server know. There were lots of muffins, juice, coffee and fruit. It's all you can eat .. you just have to ask your server to bring more.

As for the timing, I would give yourself at least an hour and a half there. What we found (traveling with a 9 year old, 6 year old and 5 year old) is that no matter the character meal, it is hard to get the kids to eat, only because of the excitement generated by the characters being there. We found Cinderella's breakfast to be a bit worse because of the "princesses" and we were with 3 girls who were overly excited. They did eat .. but it was a struggle (look at all the distractions as the characters come to your table)

I would recommend it for the atmosphere and if it will make your kids happy ... otherwise, you could probably find a just as tasty breakfast elsewhere .. allowing you to spend additional time in the parks as well.

We had a PS Christmas day and it was probably the highlight of the trip for my 3 y/o. She felt so special "being invited to the castle" for breakfast. That day we met Cinderella of course as well as Mary Poppins, Belle, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White and the Fairy Godmother. If you can get it, use it.

To be honest, the food is just so, so IMO. The cream cheese stuffed french toast is very good, but the rest (potatoes, eggs, sausage, bacon, fruit, muffins) is average at best. For the kids they have pancakes. However, this is not a meal you go to for the food.

Why is it so popular? Well, yo are eating in THE castle with THE princesses. If it wren't for our 4 yo daughter we wouldn't bother, but she loves it so much that we go every year. If you have a child that is into the Princesses it is definitely worth taking the time to do. We have seen Cinderella, Belle, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, and once Peter Pan was there. The Fairy Godmother is usually in the lobby.

I was not impressed with the food. Out of all the character meals we've been to (and we've been to quite a few;) ) this was my least favorite as far as the food is concerned.

But it was neat to see some rather hard-to-find characters (Prince Charming, Peter Pan, Sleeping Beauty), and it was exciting eating in the Castle.

I'm glad I did the breakfast...once, but I won't do it again. I am planning, however to try dinner in the Castle next trip. I like the idea of eating in a castle (DH & I had our wedding reception in a castle:) ), but I don't necessarily need the characters, and I will pass on the breakfast. Let's hope the dinner fare is better than that at breakfast.

OMG, I loved the food! The cream cheese french toast was incredible and I really enjoyed that potatoe casserole. The other stuff was general breakfast foods you can get anywhere, but I would go back just for the food. If only it wasnt so hard to get a PS because of those princesses. ;)

I hope it isn't a total wash. But if it is, I made a PS at Chef Mickey's just in case.

Good luck ... if you do decide to go ... and it's something your children are into .. I don't think you will be disappointed.

I would start calling around 6:55. I actually got a CM at 6:58 the other day. Good Luck!!!:D

Kids get french toast sticks and eggs, not pancakes anymore. We ate there Christmas Eve morning. I love the breakfast there. To me, it's the best in the World.
