Is Royal Tea worth missing Grand Cayman for?

i have two daughters ages 5 and 3. I think they would really enjoy the royal tea. Unfortunately I could only book on the day of the Grand Cayman stop. I am torn between keeping these reservations and doing some sort of Grand Cayman excursion. They have been to other princess meals but I know this one is a bit more special. Which would you recommend? Skip tea and check out Grand Cayman or do tea and skip Grand Cayman.

If Grand Cayman, any recommendations on excursions? Or is there anything close to the port we could do for a few hours at least?

For the price of the tea for 2 kids and 1 (or 2?) adults, I'd think you could do some kind of super special excursion in Grand Cayman... Just a thought.

Can you do both? What time is the Royal Tea and how long does it last?

I agree with the previous poster... Can you do both? Or at least do Royal Tea and maybe just explore Grand Cayman together?

id skip royal tea for sure. We loved our Stingray City excursion, one of the highlights of any cruise that we've been on. we want to go back to GC just to go back to stingray city.

I would skip the tea, we did it this past January and had a fun time but in my opinion it wouldn't be worth missing a fun Grand Cayman excursion. I vote for a stingray city excursion. However, you know your children best and what they would like better.
When you're on board, you can always put your name in for a different day for the tea and if there's any cancellations they will call you. Hopefully one will open up between now and your cruise then you won't have to decide :)

We haven't done the Royal Tea, it just seems really really expensive to me for what you get. As others have commented, though, Stingray City and the Turtle Farm were highlights for our trip in October. My DD was absolutely blown away by the experiences.

Unless you've already visited Grand Cayman before, I'd never skip the opportunity to visit a new island to do a character event. Character events are plentiful at WDW- you don't have to travel so far for that. Caribbean islands are harder to reach. After sailing to one, we want to at least see what the island has to offer.

We did the Royal Tea in January on the Fantasy on St Thomas Day. Our excursion was an early one, something like 8am to 12 noon or so. We were back in plenty of time, as tea was not until 3pm.

Just about everything you can do in Grand Cayman you can do at other cruise ports around the Caribbean (western and eastern), theres only one place you can do the royal court tea. That being said, the tea is not usually scheduled until the afternoon and even with tendering back and forth you should be able to get off the boat for a little while, have some fun and get back on in plenty of time. I would just avoid booking any port adventures through Disney.

Grand Cayman is an amazing place. Charter a private boat to see the sting rays. We did that and it was amazing. Our captain took is near all the people and rays, but far from the crowds. So we had a private experience. Then we went to a little beach bar for lunch. One of the best vacation days we've ever had.
