Is Mineral Makeup "Addicting"?

You will need a brush to apply the foundation because there isn't one in the kit. I highly recommend this brush: http://*******.com/fp2mx It really applies the foundation really well and it's super soft. I don't recommend drug store brushes for foundation because so many of them are not designed for mineral makeup application.

I will check that out. ( Page cannot be displayed) :confused3

But it told me that it came with 3 brushes.

I ordered it off the QVC show last night and it was some TODAY's Special Value.

Okay, completely new to this, but I hate the feel of traditional make-up as well. I don't have any boutiques anywhere near me, but I can order off from one of the sites. They have a "Get started" kit for $60. Is that a good deal, and do I need anything else?
This is what it comes with:

This complete kit includes all the basic products to achieve radiant skin:
-Two Shades of bareMinerals SPF 15 Foundation to ensure the perfect match. (Size: 0.06 oz)
-bareVitamins Skin Rev-er Upper: can be applied daily before applying bareMinerals to rev up your skin
-Mineral Veil: provides a translucent finishing touch to your makeup, infusing it with softness and adding a flawless finish. (Size: 0.06 oz)
-Warmth All Over Face Color: add an instant sun-kissed glow to skin where the sun would naturally touch. (Size: 0.06 oz)
-Flawless Application Brush
-Full Coverage Kabuki Brush
-Maximum Coverage Concealer Brush
-Bonus! A How-to DVD for tried and true beauty tips from Leslie Blodgett, Bare Escentuals CEO.

I only use skin care products from my esthetician (sp?), but I would love some great make-up. Not sure if I would be a medium or a light.

Agh, please help a newbie!

Well, I like mineral makeup, but I like Jane Iredale better. It has the same minteral ingredients as BE, but it comes pressed so there is no mess and no powder flying around. I find that alone saves me a lot of time in the morning. Plus, the coverage is great. You can find it online, or Kaiser and some boutiques sell it.

Yes, this is the kit that I got; however, I ordered mine through Medi-Spa when they were having their 20% off and got it for $48 and free shipping.

I think, over the weekend, someone posted a Medi-Spa discount. You can order the kit from the over the phone (same kit that you are looking at).

So, HELP, does someone know the Medi-Spa discount?

There is also another place that sells mineral makeup--Aromaleigh. I got this info from another DISer (can't remember who) last year. I ordered it and their stuff is also very good and probably at least 1/3 cheaper than BE. If you're on a budget, you might want to give it a try. Heck, if you just want to try it, why not. They don't have the "marketing" that BE has, but basically, it's teh same stuff.

I recently bought a BE starter kit that I was hoping would cover some blemishes that I seem to be getting lately. I think it does a good job, but I was never a foundation wearer, and I'm having a bit of trouble getting used to looking like I have makeup on. I really like it, I think it gives my skin a little glow which is nice to have in the winter. I've picked up some good tips on this thread- thanks everyone!

I love my BE!!! Got started on it around Christmas after reading a thread about it here on the DIS...DH bought me the same starter kit (2 foundations, warmth, brushes, mineral veil) and I think i've got it down!

I do use the warmth as blush, eyeshadow, and lipstick...just the teensiest bit works well as blush for my skin tone! Love my buzz latte lip balm!!!

After watching QVC last night I realize that you can use any of the products anywhere on your face. They used it for Lipstick, eyeshadow, cover-up, blush and foundation.

I was watching last night and had a question about the Tinted Mineral Veil.

They said you could wear it alone and it would minimize the look of large pores.

Anyone know if it is worth it to buy it just to wear alone?

Unfortunately, none of those three brushes is really the right one for applying foundation. If you have to use one of them, it would be the baby buki, but it's really too small for foundation.

It's very, very sheer, but it does give you a hint of color and keeps the "shinies" away.

I love BE too!  It feels as if I have no makeup on, so light. pixiedust: I used to get irritation and itching from regular makeup, not from BE though. I did order some stuff from QVC late last night. :bitelip: :bitelip:

That's interesting about Neutrogena, I guess they don't want to be left out. I may give it a try if I see it. I'll never use liquid makeup or heavy powders again. :thumbsup2

The page that you listed keeps giving me an error.

hey ladies - does BE (or the stores that carry their products like Ulta) have a product just for dark circles under eyes? this is my biggest make up problem and nothing i have purchased yet seems to effectively work there.

i am so jelous when i see women on the street or on tv with flawless under eyes. mine are just so dark. (make me look old or sick.)

if they do i would love to purchase that and get the rest of the BE line to complete the look.

Ok...as I posted earlier, I bought the QVC Today's Special Value. I want to make sure I do this right from the start. When I wash my face in the morning, I usually apply a spf 15 moisturizer. I'm in the market for a new moisturizer anyway in addition to some eyecream. I have dry wrinkles, even crepey looking skin there with dark circles. I ordered the BM Bisque/brush from QVC yesterday because this supposedly helps with the dark circles? What general moisturizers and eye creams work best with BE? I assume I still use them or is there a BE equivalent that I should be using? What do all you BE experts use? I also saw a Rever - upper type product. Should I be using this in addition to my moiturizers or in lieu of? Help!
