I'm getting dizzy from all these scrolling tags

Not fair....... I don't post for a few days and everyone is getting sprinkled with sparkles

HELP and PD PLEEEEEASE !!!

I've met my new class : only 19 pupils ( maybe one or two more will arrive next week ) , but ... many "issues" !!! Help !!!

I’ll have a boy from China , a girl with anorexia , an adopted boy (from Bolivia ) who lived … on the streets for the first 4 years of his life . I’ve already met him – outside of our school , he is still suffering from his past severe privations … poor kid , he doesn’t trust anyone but his “new” parents … We also have a kid “potentially” aggressive , with recently splitted parents …and a girl from Denmark ( not sure if she can speak Italian ).
But the pupil who makes me worry the most is a boy who is “psychologically disturbed” …
To be honest with you , I am not happy to have all these “difficult” kids in the SAME classroom , I’m afraid that there will be fighting and too many troubles .
I’ve talked about all of this with my head teacher … but we need to accept all the kids who apply for our classes ( the school needs MONEY) and I am the only teacher in the 1st course with “ patience and the necessary background” - words of my head teacher !!!

I know I’ll do my best – and I feel I already love those kids – on top of all though I have a brand new colleague ( for Maths ) , so we’ll also need to learn how to work together , she should be my “help”.

Yikes! That is a lot to handle.

....we awoke at 2:40 this morning to a loud CRASH. When we went downstairs to investigate, we discovered that the middle glass shelf in my china cabinet had fallen and everything was BROKEN!! My XMas dishes, a crystal vase, 28-y-o Mikasa stemware, a soup tureen, a glass pitcher, my Mickey wine glasses that I got for XMas last year,....

It took an hour to clean up the mess all over the floor and on the bottom shelf. I was all wound up and it took another hour to finally get back to sleep....

That is just awful.

I noticed that too after I typed the response. The sparklies aren't in your reply, but they were there shortly after you finished posting.

So does everyone else out there with tags know where their tags came from and what context they were in when they were originally said?

I wouldn't know as I don't have any (Not too bitter am I)

JC doesn't have the right "ring" to it... I went back and fixed it. It has been a heckuva day. We made the decision to have our beloved 15 yr old dog put to sleep. It will take place tomorrow night and I am already regretting the decision.

It is always sad when we have to make such a tough decision. I still miss my dog Natasha and it has been 4 years now.

There aren't any signature treats at the GC, but if you have a Paradise Pier view that is very magical I see it on my computer desktop every day and it makes me homesick!

I suppose that is probably a bit of a blessing as there are so many things at Disneyland to try that you cannot get at WDW. Otherwise I will no longer fit in my wedding dress.

Well, I was just about to post that I will never have tags, when I posted on another thread and noticed that I have some shiny tags. The tag fairy real is everywhere. The Goodies tag came from the Homemade FE Gifts Photo Thread on the cruise forum and the pillowcase tag came from my Vow Renewal Planning Journal. I though at first that it was from either there or the cruise meet thread for our October 2nd cruise as I posted something similar on both, but the wording is definitely from the Planning Journal.

And before somebody thinks that I have an issue with pillowcases, here is the pillowcase in question:

I will have this signed by the characters on the Disney Wonder with fabric markers so that I can actually use it. I had pillowcases signed with Sharpies on previous cruises and they are still in their ziplock bags.

Tori had her phone interview for the Disney College Program yesterday and feels it went very well!

Since one of her interests is "entertainment" she has an audition Oct 15th at an ATL dance studio! (I believe the category is "character performance".) The interviewer told Tori she would also be considered for other non-performing positions -- so it's not do-or-die at the audition! (phew!)

I'm just glad the audition isn't until after my Food & Wine trip because there's no way I would miss being there for my daughter!

You can do it -- and I know you can make a positive difference in these kids' lives. We are here for you any time you need to vent or seek advice.

Oh, Laura! You have a nightmare on your hands, I fear. You are so sweet that I know you will relate with these children in a loving way and hopefully help to make this a great year for all of you. I would be certain to keep a written record of any incidents as well as report them to your head teacher. Set very strong limitations for the entire class and make them abide. If they know you are in charge I know things will be fine. But make certain to keep your head teacher informed of everything.

WOW Laura - seems like you'll have your hands full this year!! I wish you good luck and send you TONS of pixie dust!!!! AND I agree, we're all here for you if you need to vent or just need hugs!!!

I'm trying to think of this class as an opportunity : the first day it was a real nightmare ...
now , after some hours of lessons , I feel that SOME of the kids want to listen and learn ;
the boy from Bolivia is ... unbelievable , cannot get him to SIT DOWN at his desk - unless I stay aside all the time ...
which I cannot do because I have another boy ( psycologically disturbed) who is unpredictable : today he suddenly stood up and tried to throw his own bag down the window ... Fortunately I was watching !
We also have a couple of girls - NO ONE mentioned their problems - with learning difficulties ...
I'm trying to be strong but smiling - and have already set FEW but severe limitations ...
Well , I did not state that they cannot throw things down onto the street ...

Thanks to God my "other students" - whom I have been teaching to since last year - seem "grown up" and much more responsible , so when I am in that class I can relax some ...

I was lucky enough to book a room for my sister Tuesday. 11/5-11/10 at AKV- Jambo- 1 BR. She was so happy. She wanted to go to Food and Wine. It was hairy though. My daughter had it booked for August and cancelled after 30 days so I had 139 pts in holding. Her doctor advised her not to travel. Today is her due date and my grandson is refusing to come out.
