Oct 2 weeks "Stayin in the Will" tour, OK, TX
Dec 1 week England for Christmas

2013

Nov 3 weeks Spain (Celebrity)

2014
Feb 2 weeks Caribbean
Oct 2 weeks Australia/New Zealand or China (Viking????)

Hopefully there will several small trips sprinkled in there.

I knew I was asking for it since I already knew your lovely 2012 plans, but my two trips looks piddly compared to yours! :lmao: Hawaii will be two weeks, and Galapagos will be with Adventures by Disney. Schedule permitting I should be able to get away for a few long weekends, they would be last minute though so they're not in the set in stone plans.

It's all very exciting!!! :cool1:

PILLOW FIGHT!

Queen Kim, I heard that Party Rock Anthem song on the radio last night, and immediatey thought of that fun video you shared. I was dancing away in the car!

So where is everyone going?

Feb '12 = Tanzania (definite)
Jul '12 = national park fan group convention in Wisconsin (maybe)
Aug '12 = family WDW trip with my sisters and at least one of their families (definite, we may end up driving down)
Oct '12 = Food & Wine with the group again? (maybe)

June or July '13 = Alaska cruise & land, most likely Princess
2nd trip = tbd, most likely WDW but may depend upon how many points that I use for next Aug -- i.e. just a 2 BR or a 2 BR + 1 BR

FINALLY putting down our deposit and paying for our flight for our feb 2nd trip tomorrow, this is our first trip ever!! VERY excited..

Awesome!!!!

I know I probably can't add any requests to my room at this point but I have a question. Are all Arusha view on one floor or should I have asked for a specific floor?

It is all floors but 6th floor is CL, and 5th floor is DVC.

I though you could add requests at any time a reservation has been made?

Yes you can add your request as soon as you book the room.

I think your trips sounds great. Hawaii one of my favorite places.

I have thought.about the adventires by disney but I don't have enough points. Can't wait to hear how that goes.

I travel A LOT for work so that helps with the travel. Miles and hotel points.

I will be in Orlando right after thanksgiving for work

I thought you were coming for.the wine and dine classic. It seems to be missing from this list.
The alaska adventure sounds wonderful. It is on our bucket list too

It is all floors but 6th floor is CL, and 5th floor is DVC.

I'll call and see if I can request a specific floor maybe 3 or 4? not sure which to ask for. Do you have any suggestions on what I should ask for? This is our first stay at AKL. I ended up changing my reservation from cl with +dining to Arusha view with deluxe dining.

I was getting multiple phone calls over last weekend in the evenings from cl staff and chefs with different responses on how they could accommodate allergies. But the one that made me change my reservation was the one from a chef telling me I would not be able to eat anything in the lounge and I shouldn't even walk into the lounge. If I wanted something special I could order something directly from room service at my expense. I got different responses after that from different staff and finally decided enough was enough. I know I probably should have waiting till the morning but I was just so frustrated at that point that I changed it.

I do not have airborne food allergies so there is no reason for me not to be able to walk into a room and I'm ok with minor cross contamination. I also couldn't see me sitting in my room waiting for room service and then sending df to cl to get what he wanted or worse having him sit there and snack alone. But I do understand liability and not wanting anyone to get sick. In the end it cost a little more but at least they can't tell me that I can't go into the restaurants lol and since I'm not such a big eater I'm doing sit downs for early lunch and signatures for dinner. I will probably just pick up a case of bottled water so I can keep cold water in the fridge. Honestly that was probably the only big plus I saw to cl unlimited cold bottled water lol.

3rd floor is lobby level so that might be the most convenient level for you to request. :thumbsup2

But wouldn't that mean lots of people walking in-front of room from hallway?

But wouldn't that mean lots of people walking in-front of room from hallway?

No - your room would be off the lobby. Most people exploring the resort go down the stairs to the first level and walk out to Arusha Rock; and the public areas to go outside and view the animals (and sit on the rocking chairs) are on Floor 2. :thumbsup2

I have often stayed on 3rd floor in the 1st or 2nd pod off the lobby and have never had an issue with foot traffic! :goodvibes

:goodvibes oops, forgot that one. :)

Ok I fixed it.

Of course my sister also wants us to do something next fall. Gee, I really need to win powerball so that I can be on permanent vacation.

Feb '12 = Tanzania (definite)

Your trips sound awesome also! :goodvibes

Tanzania! That sounds fantastic! Will you be going on a safari? I find myself getting excited for trips further out. I have to remind myself that one must get through the closer trips, and they will be good trips too! I am amused at my inner dialogue :rolleyes1

I think your trips sounds great. Hawaii one of my favorite places.

I have thought.about the adventires by disney but I don't have enough points. Can't wait to hear how that goes.

I have only heard good things about Adventuresy by Disney. I was thinking about a Discovery Adventures trip, but if I can do it with points it's about a third of the cost. Since ABD puts out their itineraries about 12-16 months in advance I still have a ways to go before I can book that one. I'll definitely do a TR for that.

I have yet to meet someone who's been to Hawaii and not loved it. :)

But wouldn't that mean lots of people walking in-front of room from hallway?

People really shouldn't be walking through the room hallways unless they're headed to rooms. You can get to the gym and pool that way, but it's easier to go down the steps near the restaurants. The way it's situated you shouldn't get heavy traffic. We were on 4th floor last time, and it was a great viewing height, but I would have liked to be a bit closer. 3rd floor would have been ideal.

So where is everyone going?

Everyone has such fun plans! Tanzania, Spain, Galapagos with Disney no less! China! Wow! I feel very untraveled now! :rotfl:

Once we get past this health issue, I want to plan a couple others locally in the Southwest, driving trips for midweek stays.
