Everyone has such fun plans! Tanzania, Spain, Galapagos with Disney no less! China! Wow! I feel very untraveled now!

Once we get past this health issue, I want to plan a couple others locally in the Southwest, driving trips for midweek stays.

I have only heard good things about Adventuresy by Disney. I was thinking about a Discovery Adventures trip, but if I can do it with points it's about a third of the cost. Since ABD puts out their itineraries about 12-16 months in advance I still have a ways to go before I can book that one. I'll definitely do a TR for that.

I have yet to meet someone who's been to Hawaii and not loved it.

We have talked about doing one of the Adventures by National Geographic, to me those are amazing adventures...

Hey J&K's - hope eveyone is good................ I cannot believe some of you are expecting SNOW this weekend............... OMG - it's in the high 60's here today and I'm FREEZING........... no no no no no snow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AND - WOW at the vaca plans of some of you............ I hope we can start to catch up when DS goes off to college.........

Anywhooooooooo - hope all of you have a good weekend - snow or not and if I don't get back before - have a Happy Halloween on Mon. - I'll try to pop in before wed.

Tanzania! That sounds fantastic! Will you be going on a safari? I find myself getting excited for trips further out. I have to remind myself that one must get through the closer trips, and they will be good trips too! I am amused at my inner dialogue

Yes, I will be on a safari. Basically the entire trip will be out on the savannas. We will be in Tanzania for about 10 days plus 4 days of travel to get there. (Boston to Amsterdam, Amsterdam to Tanzania). I'll be going with a couple of my friends and another friend of theirs.

I took an ABD trip to South Africa in Aug '10. I can't say enough nice things about the trip! Someday we would like to do the Galapagos trip. Right now it's going to be difficult to plan anything big while DH is unemployed and our youngest just started college, but I'm hoping to save enough to do Hawaii in July 2013 for our 30th anniversary.

We are expecting 7-10 inches and none of the leaves have fallen around here. I just can't believe it and we can't afford DH to have any more snow days. Since Hurricane Irene causing him to make up 5 days that only leaves the whole school year with a 3 day cushion before our trip in June

Thanks everyone for your wonderful wishes!!!!!! I couldn't keep track and quote them all because I'm just reeling from today. We canceled and booked so many vacations in about three hours that I don't know what to think!

Originally we canceled our trip and got the most amazing pixiedust! They put our points back into regular points instead of holding points, it was a one time courtesy thing. Not that we will do this often or hopefully ever again!

We tried for Aulani and they had availability in January, but our airfare was only good for Orlando. We would have had to pay a lot of money to get our Frequent Flyer miles back in our account and then pay a lot more for airfare to Hawaii. Since we could just move our trip to Orlando and they had SSR availability for early December, we took that. I had planned to go to WDW in December next year and F&W this year, we'll just flip the two.

So now we are arriving at 7AM on December 4th and departing via DME at 10AM on Dec 12th. We can see the holiday decorations and hopefully enjoy some of the dining experiences we hoped for during out last trip. Unfortunately we will not be able to experience any of the Food & Wine experiences I had planned, we will have to wait for next year, but hey, at least I am going to get to WDw right?

I am glad that you managed to reschedule the trip for Christmas time. I am hoping that I get to see WDW at Christmas at some stage. Twice now we missed it by a day or two.

Trip was great! Loved finally meeting my friends from Sorcerer Radio in person, they quickly became like family

I'll try and answer any questions that you have..Althouhg my time @ F & W remains a little hazy

Thats the last trip for a while We postponed our trip to Germany and the wedding again, unless a miracle happens...Found out a little too late we shouldnt be going on this trip, but at that point, very little could be done.. Had a great trip, but there was this cloud hanging over me, slept very little the entire trip, never sleep through the night, not even once..I'm even more exhausted than when I left.

Boss kept texting me on vaca changing my schedule I was supposed to be off today, and work the overnights on the weekend...Changed his mind, and put my schedule back to normal,then changed it again and I'm working today and the overnights on the weekend I've only been back from WDW 10 hrs and I want to pull my hair out
I really need today off, even if it means the dreaded weekend overnight shift.
I texted him to see if there is a way...I replied to his texts while on Killamajaro Safari on Fri, the least he can do answer me now .

Sorry to always sound like a downer, trip really was awesome, I'm not always in a bad way, just a lot lately. Hope you can understamd

I am glad that you had a good trip and I hope that your work situation settles down. I know how you feel though. I came back from vacation and ended up working 8 days in a row straight away.

Actually the only reason we're finally doing a cruise is because we're using points. It really saved a bundle. I have heard nothing but really good things. well ok, maybe one or two bad things, but some people can find the bad in the best of things so I'm ignoring them.

I just hopped over to the Viking River Cruises and ordered a brochure. Even if it's just to dream I love to look at pictures

IF you are squeemish - don't read this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SO - back to the dr. got ANOTHER MRI done today, labs, x-rays, ekg - you name it - they did it......... so, on Wed. I go in for cervical disc surgery - they will go through the front left side of my neck and remove some bone and seperate all the "stuff" in there in order to get to the disc, then they will remove the c5 disc, put in 2 metal rods, the bone they removed from me, as well as cadaver bone, then screw in a metal plate to hold it all in place - I will be in a brace for at least 6 weeks - then, I will have another proceedure on my shoulder and then back to physical therapy - so, this should be a really fun holiday season!!!! Seriously though, I'm nervous - I don't like the idea of surgery and have honestly put it off too long - but, it's time to get this fixed - gotta be able to hold my new grandbabies!!!! So, I'll be in the hospital for a couple of days then back home - i'll admit I'm scared, but, I know, at least I hope it works and that I'm back to my old self again soon!!!

(and I expect my hospital room to be flooded with flowers) LOL - I'm kidding, but I did tell DH he better be prepared to shower me with TONS of sweetness for a few months!!!! LOL -- So, obviously, I won't be around for awhile - I will try to check-in as soon as I can - but, I'll text Brandi with an update and she can post for all of you!!! That sounds fantastic. We are not quite so organized. We have a cruise to Hawaii combined with a few days at Disneyland booked for April/ May next year. We are also planning a Western Caribbean Cruise with Costa Maya combined with WDW for fall next year, but nothing has been finalized yet. I am still hoping for November, but we may look at September/ October instead.

In 2013, I am hoping for another Transatlantic or an Eastern Med Cruise or maybe even an Alaskan Cruise in spring/ early summer and then a land-based vacation in Hawaii.

Good Morning! I only have one more sleep here at AKV .... the time has gone by so fast!! My DD flys out tomorrow for her home in So CA and I transfer to VWL .... haven't stayed there for years so I'm excited. We have really enjoyed our morning coffee on the balcony with all the animals. Weather has been wonderful .... rained a little yesterday but not bad and it's suppose to rain some today.

You all have been posting so fast and furious that I haven't been able to keep up! Sounds like a lot of fantastic vacations coming up in the future.

I'm so glad to hear more good things about ABD! They just came out with a new itinerary that includes a 7 night cruise instead of only 4. I'm really hoping they keep that one on the menu because it sounds amazing! I hope you're able to save enough for Hawaii, 30th anniversary is a big one!
