Is it safe to say that the DVC GOLD AP will have blackout dates for spring 2017?

We are going in Oct. and again spring break April 2017. I see that spring break 2016 was blacked out. I am guessing this will be the "thing" for the gold AP going forward"?? I plan on getting AP's for Oct. and I am thinking just go with Platinum???

When originally announced In Oct 2015, Disney said the passes would exclude two weeks around Christmas and "the spring break" weeks. At the same time, it released the actual dates for 2016 which showed that the excluded spring break weeks were the Easter weeks. The assumption is that will be the same in the future. Note that both Florida residents and DVC members can purchase the Gold pass. There is an even lowered priced Silver pass that Florida residents can purchase that excludes the Christmas and Easter weeks and the mid-June to mid-August summer period, which indicates Disney does not consider the non-Easter spring break weeks to be something that need to be excluded in that even lower cost pass, but you should assume that definitely the Easter weeks will be excluded from the Gold.

By Oct they should finally have the blackout dates for 2017 out I would hope so you would know exactly which would work for your trips. The other thing is you can always upgrade if you start with the Gold but need the additional dates in the spring.

Easter is April 16 next year, so most likely April 9 to 22.

Edit - April 8 to 22. This year was Saturday to Saturday.

Yep and we are planning on being there again week leading into Easter weekend.

Keep in mind that Easter was March 27 this year, so most of the blackout was in March (except April 1).
