Is anyone else a little tired of Vera Bradley?

I bought a Vera Bradley travel bag for a major international trip during the website's 4th of July sale. I got it because it was light weight and had all those pockets for organization. I bought by features and stuck with a pattern that had the 60% discount -- it would not have been my first choice but is fine. I think I'll enjoy using it for weekend trips -- that thing is big. Because it's fabric, though, I should be able to scrunch it under the seat with no problem. I intend to put a purse of some sort inside it and I found myself looking at the hipster and wondering what kind of Labor Day sale they have . . .

I've had a couple Vera Bradley purses over like 10 years - enjoyed carrying them for a while, then got tired of them. Mine also tended to start looking frayed b/c I was not rotating a big collection.

:lmao: Sounds like a typical boy (man) response. LOL

We were at the MOA VB store a few weeks ago and we could hardly get in the door! :scared1: They need a bigger store! :rotfl:

It was actually my first time in the store. I think it opened before Christmas last year, but I haven't managed to get in there before yesterday. I can make ds stop there, I can't make dh.:rotfl:

I am completely addicted to VB bags. I have probably gotten 10 new items in the last 6 months. They are practical for everything. I use the duffle bags for trips and have a small one for the gym. I have cosmetic cases and tech cases and change purses. I love the big bold colors and they can withstand all the stuff I carry in mine, and can be washed.

Most of what you see around here is Coach and VB. I have 2 Coach bags that I got very cheap at the outlet, but they don't get used often. I also have a Disney Dooney & Bourke that I get deeply discounted on a sale on the Disney webstie last summer. Coach and D&B are expensive compared to VB and just don't offer what I like in a purse/bag.

I agree with this. I have the Night and Day pattern for my duffles and I have pretty much every matching bag from the change bag to the makeup bag to the toiletry one that is lined with plastic. After a short trip, I pop them in the wash so they are clean and I am not dragging something home from the hotel.

They are not my style and I do not own any VB bags but I do think they look nice and fun.

I'm not a huge VB fan (I admit I own a lot of Coach :rotfl2:) but they are great for what I buy them for (travel/vacation/shopping weekends). I just wait until they have a pattern I can live with, then buy.

I will say that they have changed the minihipster which is the bag I like, and I hate the redesign so I will not be buying it in any pattern.

But not tired of it. I am a firm beliver in you buy what works for you, so it wouldn't bother me if someone else didn't like something I liked, after all if I didn't ask for someone's opinion the chance of it bothering me is nil.

I have a rainbow of colors and patterns. I get at least one or more each season in my favorite pattern/color.

I never see it around here except on the elderly ladies at the Senior Center. I'm in CT.

I like the look but never owned one. The price tag keeps me away. I need something under $100. Just a personal thing I guess.;)

I do have a Fossil purse I bought on clearance for 79.00. Very cute summery with flowers. However well made with leather and cloth interior. It was a really good buy at Von Maur on Mother's Day. My gift to myself.:hyper:

Usually I like to keep it at 40 bucks.

I have a lot of them and have only paid full price once. If you go to their website there are always great deals in the sale area. Plus, if you are near an outlet they have some great prices there too.

I got a shoulder bag for Christmas last year from my sister. I never would have bought one on my own but I do like it, it's perfect for school and traveling. You can fit a lot of things in that thing! I think it's the nightingale print or something.

Some of the prints are truly hideous...one day my dbf and I were at the outlets and were hungry for a snack. We couldn't decide who was going to buy so we decided to make a bet that whoever found the ugliest print would win and not have to buy. I lost at the last second, lol. :lmao:

The biggest reason why I like my bag is it doesn't have any paisley on it. I loathe paisley. However, when this one starts wearing out, I will probably consider getting a replacement as long as I can find one with a cute print at a deep discount.

I love Vera Bradley bags, but the prices are daunting. I've learned over the years to not pay retail. What I like about Vera is the organization. My favorite bag is called the On The Go. It has exactly the right amount of pockets for all my stuff. I dont lose things anymore and my purse is always neat. I have a handful of patterns that I love and I tend to buy coordinating pieces. I always like seeing other Vera lovers out and about. I've never met one I didn't like. It's like we all belong to a really colorful and organized club.

I don't see much Vera Bradley here. Coach and Thirty-One, yes. It's funny, but the more I see them the more I don't want to be part of the herd.

I've never been a big fan of Vera Bradley.

i have a few, although my DD is the one who carries them right now. i like them because they have a gazillion pockets. and, when it comes to purses, i love me some pockets. :lmao: and the Hipster style is PERFECT for WDW trips.

but i'm not sick of them. i see Coach logo bags more than i see VB. and i have two Coach logo bags (full disclosure). right now, i carry a bright green, leather Brahmin bag. yes, it is still expensive, but was much less expensive than a leather Coach or DB.

My mother took my VB Hipster to Alaska with her on her trip. I am thinking I am not going to get that thing back! She loved it. She also uses an older mini hipster at WDW that is mine and it has never come home to me either.:headache::laughing:

I'm just over it. Everywhere I look, there are VB purses, wallets, wristlets, backpacks, lunch boxes, bags, etc. I have several (work bag, wallet, lunch bag) and I've never bought a single one. I've been given them as gifts. I like them and I'll continue to use the ones I have, but I don't actively seek them out. I have friends who have to have the newest style or pattern, and make comments about others having "older" patterns. :rolleyes2

My new purse is from Kohls and it's adorable. I get a little sick of seeing the flowery, quilted styles on everyone. Plus, as soon as my teenage daughters go crazy over something, it's probably time for mom to get into something else.

Not being a hater, just wondering if I'm alone in this?

Well now that they have the outlets and have flooded the market with everything but thongs....this over saturation gives it less exclusivity and they are less desirable. It was the same thing with Yankee Candle once they became discounted and common place they lost popularity.

Vera Bradley looks like diaper bags to me. I don't see many women with them, usually only middle schoolers.

I prefer Fossil Bags or Franco Sarto. Not pricey, but well-made and without the "try-hard" image of Coach. (Sorry, Coach lovers, but it is what it is.)
