Is a reservation always necessary for Rainforest Cafe in AK?

I was wondering if it is always necessary to have an advance reservation for the Rainforest Cafe (AK location)? Especially considering that it doesn't accept the dining plan. We may consider eating here on our AK day, but I don't want to make an unnecessary reservation. Thanks.

It is highly recommended. I personally would make one, but if you are unsure it is just nice to save the time for others. What is the worst that could happen? You put your name in...then go back in the park for some shopping at the entrance

My feeling on this is if you want to eat here than make the ress. In Disney I always have ress. I don't want to be told no an then have no where to go. I rather be safe than sorry. But that's me.

We've eaten there several times for lunch and it's been practically empty. We do go at less crowded times of the year though.

We went for dinner right around closing time in 2006 and it was PACKED. Luckily we had a reservation. We also didn't know that it was closing time as we drove to AK to specifically eat at RFC (that's one thing I do like about the RFC in AK more than the one at DTD [besides less crowds] is that they have a separate entrance that you don't have to use a park pass to go in making it a perfect place to go on an arrival night).

I've always been able to "walk in" to the Rainforest Cafe at AK.

It really only gets busy at park closing time. Most other times of the day it's fine.

Last week it was 10 out of 10 for crowd levels some days and my friend went without making a single ADR. She had her iPad with her and would just take whatever was available day of. This was a place that was available. Planet Hollywood too.

We walked up for lunch last August and were seated right away. Not too many people were there. But it was close to opening time (within the 1st hour).

We have never made a reservation for this and have always been able to walk up and get a table in a reasonable amount of time.
