iPhone vs. Samsung's Galaxy

Yeah, that is why I questioned him. Waiting for an answer.

My one huge beef with the iphone is the screen size. If they don't come out with something larger in the Fall, I may end up going with an Android for a year or two. I can't even believe I am saying that as I am a huge Apple fan, but my mid-40s eyes can't do much more than read email and text with that tiny screen. I may even go for something like a Note phablet!

I was pretty anti-Android until my son got a Nexus 7. I have been playing with it and those things have come a LONG way......it is much easier to use than I had anticipated and I was even able to download all my itunes music on to it. I am VERY techie "dumb" and if I can figure it out, it must be pretty easy! :rotfl:'

Although it is still a bit glitchy and I need to go to the forums and ask some questions, but I downloaded what I could.

I think the best thing for you to do is to go to a store and try out the Android phones and iPhone 5 to see what you like the best. Play around with them. Try not to be swayed by fanboys on either side. Just go with what you like. Fanboys will tell you lies about the other phone systems. Just to make their phone of choice feel superior. Also search for the facts on the phones you are interested in.

Posting on forums usually will only bring out the fanboys who start their bashing. Usually it is Samsung users bashing iPhones. You usually don't see many iPhone users bashing Android too much. Maybe it is because they are more mature. Lol.

Good luck in your search. Let us know what you decide on

I would go with the new Blackberry Z10 - their total touchscreen phone, before I went with a Windows phone. The Z10 is very similar to the iPhone, yet it already has multifunction capabilities. One can open 8 different programs/apps at the same time. It comes loaded with an app to create real Word, PowerPoint & Excel documents & email them back out. (IPhone just inked an deal to get that from Microsoft.) And it already has the ability to lock the phone if stolen, rendering it useless & unsellable, (which iPhone 7 will be getting in the late fall.)

The Q10 version is the familiar QWERTY keyboard version with actual push button, (plus touchscreen top half) which most people think of when they think of Blackberry.

If it weren't for the fact that the Z10 is currently lacking in a LOT of the apps that I personally want, I might have considered it. I'm going with a Samsung.

The Windows phone is really for basic, entry level smartphone users. Those who want the user-friendly ease of "dumb phones" but with basic smartphone features. The only things I see it has going for it are that it has the full Microsoft Office installed to create & send all Windows format documents. It also has multifunction capabilities. (It has a TV commercial out poking fun of the iPhone for lacking that.) And that it has Gorilla Glass for the screen. I've seen demos for Gorilla Glass on YouTube, were they actually ave a gorilla jumping & beating up the glass & it survives. :jumping3:

I also second the Z10 as a viable alternative to Android and iPhone. My neighbors each got one and I was playing around with it. It is an excellent phone. I actually like it better than Android phones. BB doesn't have as many apps in their App Store, but they still have a lot of the good ones. It is definitely worth checking out.

I've been thinking about the S4. Its much bigger than what I have now so it'll take a little getting used to. I thought about an iPhone but I have an Android tablet so I think it'll just be better to have both the same.
I have other Samsung products and are happy with them.

Anyone else hate the term fanboy too?

Bingo.

Oh, I have an iphone currently, I have the 4 and DH has the 5.

I have also played with the S3 and the Note. I just really, really WANT a larger screen on the iphone. I prefer the iphone, but my eyes don't prefer it for much more than reading email and texting.

I guess you could buy the S4 an use for a year or two. I think you said you might do this in one of your previous posts. I'm sure the iPhone 5S or iPhone 6 will have a bigger screen. You can then sell your Android on eBay and put the money towards a new iPhone with a larger screen. If that is what you choose to do. I've also heard good things about the new HTC phone.

Well, that would be a possibility.

I plan to keep the 4 until the Fall, see what the 5s or 6 looks like and then decide.

I was at Costco today and stopped at the kiosk and looked at the S4 and the Note a bit but the guy wasn't there and the S4 was just a dummy phone and the Note had a password on it and I didn't have it. I will have to stop in an ATT store to really see.

My iphone 4 is paid for outright so no contract on it and it works just fine.

Man work's been keeping me busy. Thanks for all the replies, everyone, I do appreciate it. Thanks for the suggestions on other phones but I think I'll stick to either the S3 or the iPhone. I was talking to the wife last night, while playing with her S3, and because my phone is still in good working order I think I'm going to hold off until the fall and see what ios7 will look like as well as the new phone before making a decision. Another reason is that I've had a couple of big ticket items come up lately and I really don't feel like shoveling out more money on a phone and all the stuff that goes with it. Soo, I'm going to hold off. Thanks for all the replies, I do appreciate it. I'm still not sure what phone to go with, but you all gave me a lot to think about.

I was at Costco yesterday and if you buy there you get some extras for free.
