I would like to get one but I do like my 5. What kind of plug does the 6 have and what is the advantage to upgrade?

It seems right when I get use to my phone a new one comes out and I want the next one.

Why would you want to upgrade if you like your 5? I have a 4s and so far, it's just disadvantages - I truly hate the bigger size.

I have one, I upgraded on Friday as my 4 was dying. It's BIG. Taking some getting used to for sure. It has the same charger/plug as the 5.

I traded in my 4s which I loved for the 4.7 iphone 6.

I LOVE the new Iphone size, Couldn't be happier with the upgrade.

6 has a larger screen with a higher resolution, a longer battery life, a better camera, and a faster processor. Also it comes in the 128gb size. It also has the finger scan tech for unlocking it like the 5s and c.

I want to replace my 4 to get the camera upgrade. I use straight talk so I would have to pay full price so maybe it will be my Christmas present. I know the 6 plus is big but I'm tempted.

I traded in my 4 today for a 6. Love it! I've been going crazy for months with my 4 because it was only 16GB and it was full. I was always deleting something to put something new on. I got a 64GB in gold.

I got the 5 in January and don't plan to upgrade for at least 2 years, preferably 3. So when I do upgrade it will likely be to the iPhone 8. :)

I have a 5c and am happy with it. The size is perfect. I'm a little concerned that Apple is increasing the size of their phones, so that when I do need to upgrade in a few years, I'll be stuck with something annoyingly larger than I want.

Apple makes it to where it is almost necessary to upgrade. I had a 5 as well and my phone had some issues, very minor. I know any more that upgrades to the operating system does not support older iphones...

In saying all that I love the screen resolution of my phone, the images are better as well. Has anyone noticed with the 6 that the screen is curved so it seems the images stand out? I didn't read this as a feature anywhere.
Anyways, the cons for me on iPhones have always been the expensive charger lol. I had to replace mine twice! And i buy otterbox which is not cheap either.

All of this is what you get when you upgrade.

I really dislike the new size and moving the power button to the side is annoying after years of muscle memory, but I'm sure I'll adjust. I needed a new phone as my 5 was dying and certainly wasn't going to go back to older technology simply because I didn't want a larger phone.

Unfortunately with the rate technology moves, you either have to adapt or it passes you by (granted there are some flops-oh laser discs).

I went from the 5 to the 6 and actually I really like the size. I love the way it feels in my hand. And the texting keyboard is just a little bit bigger, just bigger enough that I can text easier on it, without hitting the wrong keys over and over. I haven't tried the camera yet. The fingerprint feature is also wonderful.

I went from the 5 to the 6, since I replace my phone every 2 years as a rule. The old phone still has decent resale value at that point. :thumbsup2

I'm slowly getting used to the size. I didn't want a bigger phone at all, but I recognize that's what "the public" wants, unfortunately. :confused3 I'm also having to adapt to the new location of the lock button, but that's not a huge deal for me. I know Touch ID was on the 5S, but I didn't have it before, and I do like that feature quite a bit. I don't really care about the thin-and-light aspects since I intend to put a Mophie battery case on it as soon as Mophie releases them. The battery is definitely better but I'm a heavy user and I'll still need the case! :lmao:

iOS 8 runs on the iPhone 4S, 5, 5C, and 5S. I can't speak to how well it runs on the 4S, but I know several people running it fine on the 5, including my roommate and my mom. :thumbsup2

Your right about IOS 8 supporting the 4s. I have family that still have the 4 cause they liked it before it got bigger and bigger wonder how it works.

Since I use my phone for work sometimes they give us a $250 reimbursement every two years which makes it easy to justify new technology. :rotfl:

The 6 is too large, but I didn't want to 'waste' the stipend on a 5S when I had a 5. Large or not it was much easier to get a 6 on launch day than a 6+... who USES those behemoths? :confused3 I did trade in with Apple and got $205 towards the purchase as well - might have been able to get more on ebay but I didn't want the hassle and it didn't seem like the 5 was going for much more (and then you have fees and shipping...).

It does feel very nice in the hand but I mainly upgraded to use Apple Pay, have the better camera with focus while shooting video and for the touch technology. I was also running out of room on my 32GB so having a 64GB should get me by for awhile longer!

I might have to upgrade to 5s before those are gone because I would really hate to eventually go to 6. I wish Apple releases a smaller phone in the future. My main issue with size is that it would not fit my running pants back pocket, and I need it to collect/store the data off my heart rate monitor. :confused3 Maybe I will get the iWatch for that at some point (but then it does not have the music player and GPS).

Surprised how many people buy these phones as soon as they are released. I think the price is a bit of a highway robbery - I am sure not everyone buying them has zero credit card debt, fully funded retirement savings account, and emergency fund. We are fortunate to have all those things squared away, but my husband still uses my old 3s (with iOS6 - works just fine). He's old school :cool1:

The net price of my new 6, after trading in my old one, is only $149, hardly highway robbery for the technology that I am getting. And my finances are just fine.

I got the same one, I LOVE it. I had memory issues too, with my 4s. And Verizon gives me $200 for my old phone, I could get the 6 with 16 gb for $199. No brainer. I upgraded to the 64 GB.

Also better battery life of course.

Still fits in my jeans pocket.

Sorry I am reading comments and I love iPhones so I have to comment again, this may make a difference if you are in the fence about the price. Someone mentioned trade in. If you have an iPhone 4, 4s, 5c, 5 you can trade it in for up to $200 AT&T credit, 5s can be traded in for up to $300. So, I am trading in my iPhone 5 for $200 b/c its in good condition. Basically pays for my phone since I have the 2 year contract for $200. I just pay taxes. Only downside, which is not for me since I am a customer already, is that the credit in form of a gift card is to be used only for AT&T products, accessories and to pay the bill. Offer ends 9-30.

Check out their website, there are a lot of trade in promotions out there to offset the hefty price. Amazon I believe will do trade ins too, not too sure what it entails though.
Wal-mart already lowered the price to $179.
