I was surprised Rae was in the bottom 2. I thought she did great with her song. Glad Lionel saved her. I don’t understand the love for Brooks or Keyla.

I enjoy when the judges choose songs for the contestants. Earlier in the competition some seemed to always want to perform a song they wrote. Many think their own songs are amazing, but when they perform it doesn't necessarily come across that way to the viewers. In the short time we have to see them perform, I find it harder to relate to a contestant when they sing a song none of us has ever heard before.

Apparently she gained a lot of views on social media with that song. Writing some song with clever/funny lyrics doesn't necessarily make the person a talented singer. I would assume many vote for her since they liked her original song and much as I have mentioned previously, the winner might be someone with a large following for some other reason who happen to vote for them. A few years ago, a radio DJ with a big following won Dancing with the Stars even though you could see he was only a mediocre dancer.

But Hannah is definitely a talented singer, and has the song writing ability as well.

We're down to the top 9 now. 4 of my original picks from auditions are still hanging in there. There are so many good singers this year, it's going to be a close call near the end.

It will be so good to see Jennifer Hudson next week.

I consider her, Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson as the most successful from the AI family.

I agree, those 3 have probably gone on to the most success of those who have been on Idol. Jennifer as I recall did not win and clearly that isn't a requirement for career success. Most who have won perhaps released a few songs/albums but generally have not become big stars. Popularity with those who vote makes a difference in the outcome, but everyone who watches likely doesn't vote either. Even some contestants who impressed the judges over the years have not always been successful after that.

While the show is fun to watch, much like the Voice, I don't get overly wrapped up in who wins.........or who doesn't.
