My husband wants to know about the option of trading our DVC points for a week in/near London. We would need room for 2 adults/3 kids. Has anyone ever done this? How hard was it?

I tried to look at the II options in England, but there were non listed as London. The others I am afraid, I can't help with. I don't know if they are near London or not.

There is an exchange through the Conceirge Collection in London at the Royal Garden Hotel.

Does anyone know how many people can stay in a room in the Royal Garden hotel?

You might also consider what some DVCers do... rent their points to someone for a room at a DVC resort ($10 seems to be standard price, though eventually that's got to go up) then use the cash for accomodations. An apartment (ok..a flat) in london for a short term let is usually less expensive than paying for your typical hotel.

Otherwise, you are "stuck" with the options Spiceycat's listed. The cost per night isn't cheap...but neither are cash rack rates in London.

Winter, i'd guess you can get 5 based on the photo I've seen...two beds, 1 sofa. I can't load the RG website...From the site:

What room types are available?

Hotels in the UK offer single, double (i.e. 1 double bed) and twin (2 single beds) bedrooms. Family rooms for three or four are generally available and these are normally either twin or double rooms with extra child or sofa beds. It is rare for hotels to offer rooms to accommodate either 3 or 4 adults.

Thanks. I think we'll rent out our points.

Just remember one thing, they're your points so do what you want with them. be it for the Conceirge Collection or interval
