In October we are doing a day in epcot and wanted to take advantage of the food and wine festival (leaving the car at the hotel!!)
We are staying offsite and intended to get a cab to boardwalk then walk to epcot, obviously I know that world showcase opens at 11 but wanted to arrive earlier and cannot seem to find info on when the international gateway opens?!

Thanks! I had a feeling it was the same but did nt want to arrive at 9am just incase!! Thought I d treat DB to a non driving day and fully enjoy the food and wine!!

Years ago they would let International Gateway almost all the way to Future World for a rope drop at park opening. It put you equal distance to attractions with the people at main gate (maybe a little closer.). Last few years they either don't let you through turnstiles until opening or they let us go to the top of the hill right before you enter UK for opening. That puts you way behind the rope drop surge of people coming from main gate.

With FP+ it raises my anxiety getting kids on rides they love. I got FP for soarin and we are going to boogie to TT. I have 11 and 13 year old boys and they live for TT. Would like to get them on it twice before line gets long. How crazy is it to take a cab from Yacht Club to main gate? Has anyone done that? I wonder how much that would cost.

Ugh, I wish they would let International Gateway in just a little closer to FW for park opening.

If held at the bridge by IG, the walking distance is about 540 feet more than from front gate.

Really? WOW. It seems so much longer trecking through UK and Canada and then down path or across bridge depending on where you are heading. That makes me feel better. Thanks.

Super impressed that you know it's 540 feet. How do you learn a fun fact like that? I'm going to reuse that one with my family.

Anything for a neighbor. :thumbsup2

Just went to Google maps, turned on the distance tool in lower left corner, paced out the distance from front gate to The Land and then from IG to The Land. Subtracted one from the other. I would say that the same exercise to TT would be somewhat more than the 540 or so, but still not a lot. Also, I was walking through the rose path, not the main walkway between FW and WS.
