We'll be eating at Artist Point for the very first time...anything anybody could tell me about the food would be much appreciated. Is there an area of the restaurant that we should look to sit in for our romantic dinner? Thanks!

I haven't eaten there so I can't give you that advise. I can however help to make this more romantic. We are going to be at WL in April soooo, I promise not to take 4 kids to Artist Point for dinner. That should make it more romantic for you. lol. Only kidding. I've walked past this restaurant many times and thought of what a lovely dinner my DH and I could have. Then I think of the kids and opt for Whispering Canyon. We do this as much for the kids enjoyment as for the Artist Point patrons. Good kids but things get crazy. And someone always manages to drop or spill something.

I really needed the laugh that I got from reading your post! Thanks!

We sat right next to a window on the far end. It was lovely! We were on our honeymoon.

I would HIGHLY reccomend the cedar plank salmon, and the berry cobbler for dessert. My wife STILL talks about that dang cobbler six months later! :)

The cedar plank salmon is a must if there are fish lovers among you...right down to the burning wood when the waiter brings it out.

We have been eating at Artist Point many times each year, since they opened. The food has always been fantastic, great service, and I love the wine pairings.

We really enjoy the four course menu they offer now. The smokey portobello soup is outstanding..one of the best soups I have had in my life, ever. The salad with the blue cheese, the buffalo steak with the sweet potatoes and onions, and of course the cobbler for dessert. Our daughter in law once had, I think it was chocolate two ways, or two creme brulees, something like that..it to was outstanding.

Honestly, everything we have had at AP through the years has always been delicious, we have never had anything we didn't like. We will be going again next Saturday night..can't wait.

Dinner only. I also agree with the cedar plant salmon and I am not a fish lover but this was the best I've ever had. I had a chocolate bread pudding that was to die for! I even asked for the wine pairings and chose red wines because that's what I like to drink. I ordered the mussels (very good) for an appetizer and the waitress brought out a (free) glass of white wine that she recommended because she thought it would go better with the mussels than the red wine! That was a nice surprise!

I had dinner last month and found that although the food was great, the room was not up to Disney standards. It just seemed a little sterile and plain jane for a Disney resort. Anyone?

I agree that the salmon was spectacular, and so was the portobello mushroom soup as Webray mentioned!

It's a pretty quiet restaurant because Whispering Canyon is down the hall and they attract all the kids!

Have fun,

Bob

We've dined at Artist Point twice and didn't find the ambience sterile at all. We thought it was elegant and rustic at the same time. Just a difference of opinion.

In addition to the salmon, portobello soup an cobbler comments, I would say the servers are a vital part of the meal. Both of ours were good, and they have an impressive knowledge of the wines there and what will pair well.

For romance, it can't be beat. Of course, I say that not having dined at V&A's - yet! CG could be romantic with seeing wishes and all, but the kids kind of interfere with that. Artist Point isn't as hectic, and the food is just as good.

Enjoy!

Are we talking about the same Aritist Point here? The place at WL? Sterile? Plain Jane? That's not my experience. To me, its themed perfectly for the resort. Great big windows, lofty space, wood floors, elegant tableware.
