In Search of My Body - Not the One I Ate, VOL 7! Princesses? Nope, just us Goddesses!

Hi gang...

Glad to come back from spending the entire day in a board meeting to see some funny posts.

Kat - step away from the cats and the co-workers... breathe - it will be ok

Lisa - Jesse baking - that is freaking hysterical. The boy steams turkey burgers and lives off of them.

Nancy - hope the weekend with Seth is going well

Liz - glad you are having fun in MA

Erika - yeah on the run

I am packing my bag for tomorrow's bike race. Ten miles - in the rain... So not looking forward to that, but what can you do. I am packing my rain coat and all the non cotton gear I can find, but who knows what is going to happen. Wish me luck...

Can't wait Paula!!! Can't wait. :thumbsup2

Have I mentioned that the Jammitors know my family by name now? SO funny!

I slept in, cleaned house. Currently reading a book. .[/B]

:goodvibes

I need to get into my head that the way I need to live forever, if I want to be a reasonable weight, is not the one I have been living.
.

That was my point anyway. And on the second part - I hear you. I need to make peace with the scale and how or how not I'm going to use it for life.

I just hope that we don't see your co-workers names on there for lunch.....:rotfl:

Me too. :lmao:

Did I say I can't wait Paula !!! Can't wait. :woohoo:

Just checking for Paula's race report....

Off to go watch soccer in the rain.

Got a text from Paula and she PR'd her race this morning! WOO HOO! Can't wait for the report!

:lmao: Well I don't think I'm slow. PR'd? Powered. :confused3 Don't think that's it. My head hurts. dfkjklsfjlsd;kfjl;dskjf. I'm feeling a deja vu of last race. Like I wanna know. I wanna know. I wanna know. :lmao::rotfl::lmao:

Hi gang...

First off - what a great bunch of messages to come home to. You guys are the best and I thought of you all during my race.

Sorry for the delay, but the race didn't start until 2:30 this afternoon and I had day two of my Odyssey of the Mind board meeting this morning so it has been a long day.

In short, yes, I rocked my race and beat my time from July (YEAH!!!) No dramatic issues or first place finishes on this one was with a more experienced group of riders this time, but finished a very respectable 4th out of 12 so I was happy. The downside was that it rained so the conditions were a little tricky at times. That slowed me down a bit (didn't want to wipe out on a turn) but it was fun.

I am just getting home from the afterparty at the brewpub and am freezing so I need to take a hot shower and warm up. I'll post a proper race report with a few pics later tonight.

Thanks for all of the well wishes. They mean the world to me!

Talk to you later...

PS - Kat - how is the food thing going today? I love it when you post your food because it gives me such great ideas...

Off to eat dinner and hot tub time, will be back later to post more (including food!).

Hi everyone! :wave2:

Home from Vermont. Such an emotional weekend! I cried when I first saw Seth - he came out of his barracks to line up for the parade...and he looked SOOO thin. He's dropped 15 pounds. 15! Really though, he's doing well. So proud of him.

We watched the parades, cavalry & artilary demonstrations, repelling...and we got to shoot M16s. Ok - so it was a modified M16 that they use for training, so that it was laser shots rather than live ammo but still! It was as close to real as you can get.(gun weight, recoil, sighting- all the same) so amazing.

Off to catch up.

BTW, Dieting sucks. Or lifestyle change or whatever you want to call it. Just sayin'.

A-MEN!

Go Paula:moped:Go Paula:moped:It's your birth...er RACE DAY:moped:

:rotfl2: Funny Lyz. Very, very funny!

In short, yes, I rocked my race and beat my time from July (YEAH!!!)

:dance3: So proud of you Paula! In the rain no less. Awesome!

Kat - I too like it when others post their food choices.

E - how's the shins?

Congrats to all who lost this week! I'm facing the scale tomorrow morning....wish me luck :scared:

Nancy - so glad you had a great weekend with Seth!

:goodvibes

OK - here is the trip report...

So I spent the better part of this morning at a board meeting for Odyssey of the Mind. Very productive and loved the fact that I was sitting there with my workout geat on. So much more comfy!

Had lunch with my sister (who says hi by the way) and then it was off to the race. Got there early so I could register and such then the debate was on about what to wear. It was drizzling so I was going back and forth about wearing a rain coat or not. Finally decided to wear it and was happy that I id since the rain picked up a bit while I was out there.

Getting ready...

There were about 10 - 12 of us in the ten mile ride and off we went.

The group kind of spread out a bit once we got to the bike path and I settled into my ride. I passed a few folks and was kicking along. Another rider came up beside me and we chatted through most of the ride. In some ways I was annoyed since it slowed me down a bit, but with all of the wet leaves on the path you couldn't go too fast anyways so I couldn't go faster even if I wanted to. I got to the 1/2 way mark with no problems, had a banana, wiped off my glasses and then it was time to head back. More chatting, more pedalling and I was pulling into the parking lot at the Pump Station with ten miles behind me (YEAH!!!!)

After drying off, it was time to head inside for some beverages and one of the best post event buffets I have seen (baked fish and eggplant parm were yummy!) Got to meet a bunch of people and chat with some folks about how to start training for longer distances. It got me thinking that I should look at joining one of the local cycling clubs. Add that to the things to do list.

All in all, it was a good time. A little wet, but a good time.

and yes, I know my clothes are too big in these photos, but it is what I had... they are not flattering at all...

Paula!!! LOVE the RReport!!! And you look so great!!! Seriously, even swimming in your clothes!!! Giddy for you. (Oh and so pleased you got a kick out of that, I was amused posting it.)

Nancy!!! So happy you had a good weekend with Seth!!!!

Paula!! You look so THIN!!

Nancy, glad you had a good weekend and got to see Seth.

Yesterday was relaxation day, and today was run run run. We reorganized the closet and have about 3 large trash bags full of goodwill stuff, then went grocery/Sam's shopping, then I mowed the lawn, then had my hockey game, and after hit yet another grocery store (12-pack of diet sodas on sale and got a bunch of other stuff that my normal store doesn't stock).

Pantry, fridge, and freezer are full of good stuff now. Life feels back in order, clean clothes, house in order, and grass is no longer knee length!

We won our hockey game, 4-3. Loving my fall/winter league, it is SO much fun. They took the whole organization and balanced it out into 3 teams, so we are all mixed skill level. Playing with the better girls makes you work harder, but yet you still have a chance now and again against those of your own skill level. Super fun.

Okay, food for today:
B: Coffee (got up at 11:30, so lunch was breakfast)
L: Ham and turkey sandwich on whitewheat (150), large dinner salad (100)
S: Cherry cobbler light yogurt (100) with 1/4 cup fiber one (30)
D: 14 mini pierogies (260) non-stick pan-fried with zucchini, onions, mushrooms, green peppers, and tomato sauce (60) with 1/8 cup reduced fat shredded cheese sprinkled on top (40)

Total is 740, which is wildly not enough. Water, 64 oz. Exercise, 1 hr hockey + 45 min of lawn mowing.

So busy today that I didn't realize I needed more for dinner than I had, although it seemed like a lot of food at the time! I think I might have some light ice cream as a snack, and try and get it a bit higher.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!!

Good Monday Morning Everyone!

I got on the scale this morning. 2 words. HOLY CRAP! Not a pretty number at all. <sigh> I've got my work cut out for me! Today is Yom Kippur and many schools in our area have the day off (not my kids however) - which typically means mayhem at the orchard. wheee. As a matter of fact, this entire WEEK is just a nightmare for me. Hate that.

Paula - Awesome Race Report. Thanks for sharing, and once again, inspiring me!
