In Search of My Body - Not the One I Ate, VOL 7! Princesses? Nope, just us Goddesses!

OMG, Saco! That is only 20 minutes away! He will arrive this morning, I think. We usually get our FedEx deliveries around 10.

Is it wrong I am watching the arrival of a rodent more closely than I did the Presidential Election?:confused3:lmao:

Jean-Claude is here! Jean-Claude is here! It took A LOT of work to unwrap him! OMG, Lisa--you weren't kidding! I took pics along the way and will post them when I can. But he is here and in one piece and I've already pressed his little nose a dozen times! I had no idea there were so many different sounds it makes!

:lmao:YEAH! I just came on to say "open your door Erika. Open your door!!! They once again listed "left at front door" - I was like "oh no another abandoned Zhu Zhu!" Yeah for Jean Claude! :rotfl:

Quiet crowd today :)

Still feeling pretty on today :) Didn't have any slip ups last night with any chocolate from the vending machine, but did get a snack bag of Gardetto's...suppose that's better than a Hershey's bar haha!

Salad again for lunch today. And I have another question for you all, my wise friends :) What about vinegar? On my salads, I like just using basalmic vinegar...is this a healthy option? I would assume it's a healthier alternative to a normal salad dressing, but just not sure....

Carlos and I are going to try to get back to our weekendly exercise idea....there are things we can do inside to walk and get some exercise, like the museum and malls and such, so going to try to get back to that. Tomorrow I have to work then go to school campus and sell my books, then later we are going to Denver and window shopping on what's called the 16th street mall, it's a pedestrian street with a lot of stores. Excited. Then, later in the evening, watching the parade of lights. With a low expected 12 degrees tonight, I'm sure we're going to be cold tomorrow! BRR! But excited :) Tonight we're going to go and hopefully finish up all the Christmas shopping. Looking forward to it.

Hope everyone is having a fabulous day!

I might throw my computer out the window. Giving me fits.

Here is the Chunk unwrapping. Or should I say, Precious Cargo unveiling.

He say's "Hi" Lisa!

So question for you all... my gym has completely tweaked the pricing for my training sessions and I have to change what I have been doing to fit it into my budget. I was doing an hour session three times a week. So now, my options are this - 2 hour sessions per week or 4 half hour sessions per week (I would be doing my warmup on my own so the 30 minutes would be at full working mode). Jesse tells me that the metabolism boosts of the 4 sessions would be good for me. If I drop down to two sessions than I would need to do one session on my own which may also be a good thing. I am confused so - Thoughts?

Starting to feel a bit more in control which is a good thing...

Paula - Since I am an exercise queen, hahaha, I like the 4 1/2 sessions. Just makes good sense. You already do this to an extent.

So, the article about my award at the university came out. This is the "People's Choice" type of Award. One of the ways it was measured was by using a rating website (along with yearly student evaluations). Here is an excerpt:

Anderson, a behavioral science professor in the Communication Department received the highest overall rating with a score of 4.6 while Donald Sytsma, professor of psychology, received the lowest with an overall rating of 1.6 in a comparison of professors who received more than 50 votes. Anderson was also rated as the ‘hottest’ professor. Anderson said she doesn’t check the website regularly and was unaware of her own existence on the site until a student told her about it. Sytsma did not respond to a request for comment.

Anderson says her ratings on RateMyProfessor are congruent with the positive student teacher evaluations that she receives at the end of each semester. The reason for these types responses? Anderson said she feels it is attributed to her attempt to have a “positive learning environment, fairness and open-mindedness in the classroom, and remaining student-centered.” The comments on RateMyProfessor.com seem to reflect this, with one student writing that Anderson is “extremely understanding and approachable.”

:yay: EriKa! Awesomeness!

Poor Donald. Way to point out the loser in an article. :lmao:

Thanks, Lisa. But it wasn't confidence that made me post it. I said I would, so I did. I guess I don't even think about stuff like that.

THAT! is exactly why it's confidence. You didn't even think about it.

Jean-Claude is here! Jean-Claude is here! It took A LOT of work to unwrap him! OMG, Lisa--you weren't kidding! I took pics along the way and will post them when I can. :yay: They are cute. I can't wait to get them out of the box and hold them. I suppose I'll have to let Maddi go first. Darn kid.

Amiee - your class party dinner sounded yummy!

I have got like 4 lists going and I'm checking them off and taking names. Just saying.

We didn't get to the tree last night. Too tired. Hopefully this afternoon between school and a Home Builders Christmas Dinner I'm going to.

One more thing. I love holiday candy. Like when they take a Snickers bar and mold it into a nutcracker. Or a butterfinger and mold it like a coin. I'm never losing weight, am I?;):confused3

Okay. I want one now. Does that make me 6?

I will wait until they are no longer the hot thing, though...

Paula, I would go for the 4 30 min sessions. That guarantees at least 4 trips a week and 4 good workouts a week, with no excuses available.

BUTTERFINGER!!! I fetched a box of mini-butterfinger home from Florida! It was deeeeeeeeelicious! :lmao:

Love the pictures of Travelling ZhuZhu!

ugh. need to get me an espresso. Or a Red Bull. No time for fatigue - I've got another concert to attend :yay:

Workout - check
work - check (left early :thumbsup2)
hair cut & color - check (don't hold your breath Lisa )
Picking up pizza for the kids, "ceasarless" chicken ceasar salad for me :thumbsup2

Fun! Stay away from the Cheesecake Factory.:rolleyes1

The FIRST AIRHOLE...

See, when fatigue has taken control of your senses, you might just read the word "airhole" wrong.

Okay. I want one now. Does that make me 6?

k. Gotta get myself moving here, or I'm going to be late! :scared1:

Lyz - thanks for the pics... too funny! Glad that Chunk made it to his new home in one piece. He is a cute little guy.

I am leaning towards the four 30 minute sessions. Time for me to do a little on my own, but not quite sure I am ready to hit the weight racks alone yet. Have I mentioned that someone is paying Jesse to kill me again. He has stepped up my workouts again in conjuction with the Princess training. All I can say is oy... It is exhausting. Good, but exhausting.

Off to Starbucks for a cup of tea and a good chat with my friend Donna. Should be fun.

Have a fun night everyone!

Oh - Cathie - forgot to mention, balsamic vinegar on salads is perfect. Not much to get you into trouble with vinegar. It is the oil you have to be worried about so go easy. Also explore other types of vinegar. I am a huge fan of champagne vinegar and fig infused balsamic. Change the vinegar and change the total flavor of your salad.

Haha, you know I've never been, and always wanted to go, but maybe it's better that I don't know what I'm missing out on. One less thing to crave, right?

So glad to hear. I didn't THINK there were any problems with vinegar, but there's a lot of deceptive foods out there! I'll have to start looking into the different vinegars and find some stuff I like. On occasion I'll make an italian dressing with white wine vinegar and spices and olive oil, so maybe perhaps I can still make that too, just less oil and more vinegar. I don't like the creamy dressings (ranch, blue cheese, etc) so that makes that much easier on me :) Thanks for the advice Paula! So appreciate it:hug:

Thanks for posting the pics, Lyz. Now I don't have to! :lmao: Jean Claude was packaged the exact same way. :goodvibes He is totally lonely for Chunk, though. I can see it in his eyes.:rotfl2:

Paula--do the 4. Definitely. Not even worth thinking about, IMO. Here's why--it commits you to 4 workouts per week. And you are ready to move up to that. Yes, you are. The shorter sessions only mean that you warm up and cool down on your own. You know how to do that. You are hard core now and don't need a trainer to start the freaking TM for you so that you can warm up, right? And you know how to cool down and stretch. So just use Jesse for the hard core a$$ kicking and you'll be good. Seriously, I bet this will totally jump start your loss again.

Cathie--why limit yourself to walking inside? Just put warm stuff on and walk outside. Way more stimulating, better for your lungs, and a better workout for a variety of reasons (wind resistance, you keep a brisker pace since you aren't "window shopping" or looking at museum exhibits, cooler temps cause your body to burn more calories...all sorts of good reasons to switch to outside workout). Plus, when you get used to doing your workouts outside, you quickly run out of excuses. There is no "but I couldn't get to the mall today..." or "the museum was too crowded to really walk at a good pace" or whatever. All you need are sneakers. And then you have no excuse not to do it. I run in the rain, the snow, all of it. And listen...I didn't used to. My first 3 months of running were on the treadmill ONLY. I was terrified of moving my runs to outside. But OMG, now the thought of running on the TM is just vile!

Thanks for the site E. Omg the zhu's have arrived! I will have to log in to see the pics. They wouldn't download on my phone. At the basketball game with my son. Tip off in a few and he is so excited.

My post to Cathie just made me think of something that I just naturally do all the time now and I thought I would share. I so often hear people say "But I don't have TIME to workout..." Bullsh*t. Nancy and I are two of the busiest people I know and we both put in some of the longest hours for fitness. Everyone has TIME to do it, you just need to make it a priority.

BUT I realize that it is tough to get in that mind set, so I have lots of tips. There is a lot of down time in a day. For example, I often have to wait at the bus stop for 10-15 minutes in the afternoon (since the bus is never consistent). Sure, I could just stand there (or sit in the car since we have to drive to our bus stop) doing nothing. But that is such a waste. Instead, I use this time to do my squats and lunges. For people who have kids in sports-- When the kids have a game, they usually have to be at the field 30-45 minutes before the game for warm-ups. Most of the moms just sit their in their chairs and chat. I use the time to go for a run. That way I am killing two birds with one stone. When I take Cammie to her piano lesson, I just have to sit there for 30 minutes and wait. Again, I will do a short bonus run or just go for a walk to add some extra miles into my day. On a conference call? I sit on the exercise ball and do some sort of core or leg work. Because why just sit there for an hour? And any time I am walking from one place to another (the parking lot into the mall, for example) I walk FAST. I don't stroll.

Also, I always have a stocked gym bag in my car. Full set of workout clothes, water bottle, sneakers, and socks. That way if I get stuck somewhere, I can at least do *something* instead of wasting that time and then saying "But I didn't have time to work out today because X happened."

WORD!!!

I try to take the stairs instead of the elevator when possible and have been known to do squats, lunges and dips while waiting at the microwave. Not quite ready to change my office chair out for a balance ball, but who knows.

Having the gym bag packed and ready to go is key for those after work / meetings workouts. No excuse if I don't go home first. Leave the meeting and go to the gym - done.
