Hey guys. Thanks for the hugs. Just spent the evening with my mom dad and siblings. Lot of laughter and reflection. You know how it is.

Nancy - yes it started with a pound of butter, but you are mass producing brownies. How many does that batch make? Brownies sound good.

Remember right after new years when the local orthodontist shot himself? Do you remember that? I found out tonight it wasn't financial at all!!! He was getting it on with another man! In my tiny town, whew, that is BIG news. I guess it was about to become public and he was ashamed. Enough to kill himself!

Of course you were lost. I was thinking outloud and typing again. I have little conversations in my head.

I was looking up where my oarents are in Florida to see how close they are to Amy (I knew they were in the same general area but wondered if they were just around the bend sort of deal) So I looked it up on wikipedia. They always list the ethnicity percentages of areas. I guess because I live in multiracialville I was so totally surprised to see that an area in Floida - its oopulation was 97% white. Totally surprised me.

Kat - if it was a longer trip I would take a different route for sure. Even with my obsessive route ways. To see you would be more than worth it. But I hate more time on the 95 (endless road work and such) then necessary and I'm rushing to get down there early on Sunday. Otherwise I would scoot over and just go to the 95 early. I was so excited when you mentioned it. I forgot you were in Raleigh/Durham. That's where you are, right?

But not my town. 99.9% white. One African-American family in the school system. ONE. And the mom's license plate is: 1BLK N KBK (which stands for 1 black in Kennebunk). Many families have adopted Asian babies, though, so we are starting to see some diversity in the classrooms. But not much.

In states like Maine I understand. Well, the word isn't understand - I mean I would have guessed. Wouldn't have surprised me. Eastern Townships of Quebec is very white and very close to Northern parts of Vermont, NH and Maine.

But Florida? It really surprised me. Really. Truly. I would never have guessed that about Florida. Amy, is the gulf coast more white than the Atlantic side in general - I'm guessing it is big time. With the exception of Trumpville/Palm Beach probably.

Why Somalian refugees? Not why refugees? Why the focus on that country's refugee population instead of another I mean? I'm curious.

I got the shock of my life when a US border guard asked me what I do, crossing at Buffalo,and I said teach ESL to new immigrants. And he said, "really? They have that up there?", like he was in total shock. We are a mere hour and a half/two hours to the border. I had to bite my tongue not to be sarcastic.

Amy - what marathon are you running?

Bad news in my world. My grandma died at 3pm. My moms mama. She was 89(?). Old age. In the nursing home. My mom, dad and aunt were with her. I wasn't awfully close to her. My mom, though, it's horrible for her.

Oh Lyz, so sorry for your family's loss.

Alrighty, the details!

He TM'd me on the way over to his house saying he had an idea of what he wanted to do with his hair. Um, keep in mind, that my bikini line stubble is longer than the hair on his head. Well, I make it out to BFE and waltz in the door. He has had way too much Mt. Dew (the sugar full kind, no less) and he is bouncing off the freaking wall like a pin ball. So, he races to his computer room to get some pictures for me to get inspiration from. The boy decided he wanted a mohawk with his stubble. Being the dutiful non-girlfriend, I had to try. The cutting commenced in his bathroom that holds a huge tub with jets. The goober started making funny faces at me in the mirror while I was trying to draw a straight line with the clippers. I couldn't help but laugh, so said mohawk took a good hour for me to do. I now have a new talent ~ Mohawk Master!!!

While we were in said bathroom, he also had me stop several times to show me pictures in his bike magazines of bike week. The really funny part is that said mags had lots of pics of topless overly endowed ladies. He wouldn't show me anything that had ****ie pics on the page. So funny. I think he was a tad shy about it. When I left, I had big time flutters going on. Sigh!

Good morning! I am up WAY too early for a Saturday. But we are headed up to camp for Project Snow Removal. It is going to be cold and hard work. But on the bright side, it should be a good calorie burn!

Bringing the snowshoes and sleds (regular, not snowmobiles) so we can play a bit as well. Not bringing any skates as there is now frigging way I am shoveling a skating rink on the lake after all of the over shoveling we have to do.

Just sitting down now to eat breakfast. Sad, no? We have about 25 people coming over for a chilli cook-off, so I am busy cleaning. This is Nick's deal, so I have no idea what we need, what is prepared, what people are bringing, and there has been no shopping done for it. So I am just cleaning and then leaving at 3pm for a kid birthday party with Emily. Ha! I'm not going to control it, other than have my house clean.

Oh! And they are his Rutgers football tailgating friends, so I don't even know most of them! Like, we've met, but I can't pick them out of a line-up. And the wives and kids? No clue. Jodi and Greg are coming, because they come to everything at my house, and Jackie and her husband are part of this, so they will be there. So my two best friends to amuse me, at least!

Wow Lyz. Wow. Sad all around. Sad for someone to be cheated on - cause it's cheating on regardless. Sad for the doctor - obviously something he's hidden forever. No peace with that. And very sad that desperation took him to end his life. That's so cruel for the family too. To have to grieve and more. Sad all around.

Today we are off because our nephew, Jean's nephew, got his first university acceptance and we are doing a congrats surprise for him. Big cookie baking congrats and signage. His father opened the acceptance - I hate that.
