In Search of My Body....Not the One I ATE! Vol. 5: Goddesses are Always on Top!

So me -

Exerxcise - bang on

Celebrate - pretty good

Consciously eating - better but still not on.

Erika, thanks for all this work. And happy that you're feeling somewhat better.

I can't wait to drive to find where Spring is hiding. Nothing like a road trip.

Lyz - will answer that question. Good one.

Hi to everyone. Amy, hope you're having fun.

Stacey. Stacey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Celebrate the loss. Celebrate it. They add up. Big time. And you'll crave it on a week that you truly maintain or gain.

OMG!!! :yay: :yay: GEESE!!! I hear the Canadian Geese! :woohoo: Spring is coming. They are headed home. Thank GOD! LisaV - take them please!!!

phew. I feel better now. I was really excited there!

OMG - weekends are so hard for me to stay on track. Once the structure of the work week goes away so does my willpower. I think that is why I like my Monday night weigh ins. Mentally, it keeps me that much more on track during the weekend since I have no recovery time before hitting the scale. It truly is a viscious cycle.

Monday weigh-ins. Now that's a different kind of challenge. :worship:

I am sore and tired and I think I might take today and tomorrow off from exercise even if it means I don't make my challenge. I am so sore that I am having trouble getting in and out of my chair, inner/outer thighs and upper hip muscles are just screaming. I will see how I feel tomorrow.

Smart girl to listen to your body. Dumb bunny here has been running along ignoring her body. Her tweaky hip flexor is revolting. :rolleyes1

Nancy, you can only drop one at a time...so don't throw the carton down! ;)

Oh. I guess I didn't read the rules on egg smashing. Was that in the manual somewhere? ;)

So, sports bras. I have the Champion ones from Target, but I need a better support one for high impact, like spin and running. These worked fine last year but maybe they are stretched out or I'm just higher impact now! Suggestions? Please don't tell me one they only sell at Walmart, as we don't have one and I'm not driving there anyhoo. I'll buy online, in store, whatevs. I'm mostly looking for something that will hold the baby girls nicely. They've been good to me, I should be good to them.

No help here. I'm so flat I'm practically concave! :rolleyes1 When DD and I were shopping yesterday, I held up a dress. And she says "who's that for? YOU? (insert sarcastic laughter). Mom. You are too cleavage impaired for that dress" :lmao:

Sad thing is, she was right. :sad1:

My father's oldest sister was generous enough to take me on a trip to Italy after I got out of college

That sounds like it was so amazing!

5.7 mile run. Done. In the SUN. In 50* weather. In short sleeves. SO HAPPY!

So jealous. Glad you got your light-infusion!!!

Yeah, those work-related killings can be a real bummer. I would advise avoiding them if possible -- they mess up your weekend with all the paperwork, jailtime, etc. :rotfl:

not to mention the ugly news stories :scared:

I had the day off today, so I have been out with my 13 yr old daughter, looking at dresses for the 8th grade dance. I have never felt so old..... but it's kinda fun to see my tomboy daughter getting excited about this stuff. She looks so grownup in these cute little dresses. She and her friend are going to go together, hang out and giggle at everybody. It reminds me of many dances I went to in junior high.

My daughter is 8th grade also. Looks like she's waaaayyy older. It's really rather frightening sometimes :sad2:

Congrats on the weight loss, Lisa! :thumbsup2

I just wanna put on my flannels and be a sloth for the evening. :upsidedow

Hey Everyone!

Got in late last night. Flight was good, Delena was good and we sat next to a nice man who let us have the window seat. Delena was entertained the whole time by the lights down below.

Little D and I went to the race expo today to pick up my 5K and 1/2 marathon stuff. Lots of free stuff too. I am super excited for the races this weekend. Delena and I have the 5K tomorrow and the 1/2 is Sunday.

Challenge stuff

C25K (did not do C25K this week, since I rested for a few days) but did get in 3 easy TM run/walks, so 3/3 for that.

Core: 2/2

Tracking 3/3. I didn't get a chance to look up all the calories for everything I ate, but did write everything down.

Booze: Off the wagon last weekend. Don't regret it at all, NC wine and beer! yum!

Weight: not weighing this week. Super super bloated thanks to TOM and I so don't want to see that number. I am actually really worried about it making me feel sluggish during the races this weekend. I am drinking as much water as I can stand. Hopefully that helps.

I will catch up at some point.

Cheers,
Amy

Amy - what marathon are you running?

Bad news in my world. My grandma died at 3pm. My moms mama. She was 89(?). Old age. In the nursing home. My mom, dad and aunt were with her. I wasn't awfully close to her. My mom, though, it's horrible for her.

Glad you are back, Amy!

Hydrate today. And tomorrow. Be careful on Sunday though!!!

Lisa, when are you leaving again? It's soon, no?

I was like that with my grandma.. When she died my friends were so lovely and trying to console me. But my tears were mainly for my brother and my mother. I knew her death would be such a huge and incredible loss for them.

I just realized two weeks today Kat. My eyes popped out :lmao: when I realized it was so close.

I can't even explain, although I've rambled and rambled about it, how much I adore the drive down. I love your rest stops. I love West Virginia. I love not understanding what the workers say to me in South Carolina. I love tunnels through mountains. I love Savannah. I love getting toll money together. I love peeling the clothes off state by state. Oh, how I love it.

Hey Amy,

So glad to see you back. And so glad to see you loving your drinks. :lmao: ;) ;) .

Can't wait to hear about the races.

Amy, my parents are in South Pasadena. Are you close?

Lisa

OK,

I just looked it up on Wiki. 98.7% white. WTH. :lmao: :rotfl: . I didn't even know that was possible. :lmao: I swear I sighed in shock. :lmao:

Now I'm off to look up Palm Habor. That's it, right? I should just check your post info.

Geese. Ah the geese. :lmao: Glad they are brightening your day Nancy.

Have you guys seen that movie about the little girl, Anna Paquin plays her, who teaches them how to fly down south. Cute.

Got it Amy. I knew you were in the same area. But didn't realize you are north of the city.

So many beaches with the formation of the land and spits, eh?

Lisa, I was looking at your route, and it looks like you pass almost 2 hours to the west...

Erika - so happy you are feeling better and that you got to run outside, in the sun!!!

E, glad you are back on. :goodvibes Was worried about you, a bit.

I am irritable and pissy today. Had lunch with a friend which did help and wil hopefully mitigate afternoon work-related killings, but I was pulling out my angry eyes this morning.

Angry eyes can be sooo powerful. Use them wisely. Glad you are feeling a little bit better.

I agree.
Challenge results:
Exercise - goal 4x a week, actual 5x
Snacking - all week on track
Scale -- down 2.2 lbs -- yippee!!!! That makes a total of 5.4 lbs for the challenge, with a goal of 5. I made it! :yay:

Have a great day, everyone. It is 60 degrees here in Baltimore, and we were able to shop without coats -- it was glorious. :flower3:

LisaZ - awesome week for you! Congrats!!!!

Not much going on here tonight. Spent the better part of the afternoon and early evening haging out with the guys I work with. One of the inspectors is being transferred to another office so we were taking him out to wish him well. We had a blast and I only had one drink and then club soda for the rest of the night.

I am off to get ready for tomorrow's tournament and then I get two weeks off from Odyssey (yeah!!!!). Have a great night everyone!

Paula

Lyz -

I am so sorry for your loss. Sending you and your family hugs and prayers right now. Let me know if I can do anything.

Paula

Lyz, I am so sorry. As you say, this is hard for your mom. And it's hard to see you mom hurt.

I've neglected to do this the past few nights - but it really helps me keep on track if I post my stuff. So, read if you want, ignore if you choose. But I'm going to announce my successes and failures once more.

Food: 29 points

Not too bad considering I totally CAVED at work today and ate a brownie. :headache: Not any ol' brownie mind you. A "supernatural" brownie. Super fattening is what it should be called. Any recipe that starts with a pound of butter (yep you heard me right) should be something to avoid. :scared: But, I ate it. I felt sick  , tracked it and moved on.

Water: a lot. Somewhere in the neighborhood of 100 ounces.

Alcohol: none. However, today was the first day in a very, very long time that I really longed for a glass of wine. Wanted it desperately. Ignored the little voice, it went away eventually. Actually, I think I drowned it in water ;)

Exercise: 60 minutes of mostly strength work - lower body & core.

Lyz, so sorry to hear about your grandma. I am running a local half marathon over in Tampa.

I was just checking out the weather forecast and it may very well be raining for the 1/2 marathon on Sunday morning.:scared1: That would be interesting!
