In search of my body...not the one I ate! Part Deux... We sit at the popular table!

I am here...finally! Thanks, everyone for checking on me. The DIS wouldn't load for me...?!?! WTH was up with that? Apparently none of you had the same issue.

As for the running...9.3! This is a personal victory for me. And yes, I wanted to put a bullet in my head.

Ok, I know you all are going to hate me for this, but it is like 85 and I have to get my kids to the pool. I have made them hang around all day while I caught up with work and then running...time to make it up to them.

I promise to be active and back to my bad-a$$ self tonight. Really. Promise. k? :goodvibes

I know, it's like her priorities are out of whack or something! :lmao:

Steph - Your boss has lost her mind. I forgot to weigh in on that! And I am SO sorry you have the house of flu. Yuck. I hope they get better and you have a good WW meeting tonight!

Paula - I hope it goes okay tonight! And glad you had a good weekend and HIKED! That sounded awesome.

Lyz - You are totally the reason I keep getting on that treadmill. I think, if Lyz is so committed, I can't wuss out. I'm going to try to stay on for 3 miles tomorrow, run what I can, even if that's only 1/4 mile, and walk the rest. And I'll be cursing you the whole time! No, really, I'll be cursing Erika. :rotfl: oh, who am I kidding? It's all my own fault! You guys are just the inspiration!

Deb - are you biking 5 to 7 miles? Wow, woman, here's a flashlight. Welcome to the dark side!

Erika - i was talking about you and your running all weekend. I tell people you run 8-10 miles now. You're my brag story. :)

Today is day three of the birthdays. Sat, my friend's, yesterday Emily, today my MIL. We are going out for Italian food so to combat the desire to eat plates of pasta, I made up a little lunch recipe. It's delicious.

1 package angel hair Tofu Shirtaki noodles
1 can of fat free chicken broth
1 handful of baby carrots, chopped (about a half cup)
1 handful of broccoli, chopped (about a half cup)
1 glove of garlic, chopped
Generous sprinkles of no-salt season all

I threw the veggies and broth into a pot with the seasonings and garlic. Bring it to a boil. As the veggies start to get soft, add the noodles (which you have rinsed and dried according to the package directions) and simmer for 2-4 mins.

It tastes like this yummy, flavorful soup with Asian noodles - very much like something you'd get at a Japanese noodle bar. It's low in fat, full of veggies, and it fills you up!

Moi? Well then, I guess I'll have to keep getting on. @@#%^$$@!

See? Liz is so smart she gave Lyz the recipe before she even demanded it! :lmao: (cause you knew she was gonna...)

And I totally agree. Both Liz and Lyz keep my feet moving. It's like, I know they are doing it and don't want to, but they are doing it regardless and that is the important part, so I can't opt out!

Note to self: Don't do my long run on tennis day! D'oh! I totally forgot until I was like 2/3 of the way in. Crap. I have 90 minute of tennis this evening and I am going to die. I usually live for Monday nights, but I am praying for some serious rain!

Newsflash: just off the phone with D & D. It seems that Dawn has been sick this whole time. She never did bounce back they way they expected her to. E me for the 411.

Okay, I am back.

Pissy, irritated, don't want to be here, but back.

However, I have 3 face-to-face scheduled for this week and am waiting to hear back on the 4th.

Liz, Em is absolutely adorable.

My weekend was, well, surreal. It was very strange to see my best friend as a mom, not in a bad way, but strange. Her parents were totally awesome to me, but to me their attitude toward their 10 mo old granddaughter was just a bit off. They seemed almost inconvenienced and a little put off by her presence, not entirely sure why. Her younger brother killed himself (at age 22) two years ago (shot himself in the head with a shotgun, they think it was a gun-cleaning accident), and I think her mom is still very fragile about it, so that might be why?

I can say that this weekend just affirmed my desire not to have kids. I love my friend dearly, and I loved her daughter by association (I even tried to put her down on Sat night), but man, I just don't want that for myself.

And hey, Liz has now heard my voice! She sounded not nearly as Jersey as I had thought, and she told me I sound Southern (to which my friends and husband say, huh??).

Oh, no! on Dawn! I am so sorry to hear that!

Kat, not Southern, just slightly Southern. Slightly musical, which I am attributing to the South. You do live there - and of course they don't think you sound Southern! They don't think they sound Southern, I bet! It's like my family in Illinois who thinks they don't have an accent. ;)

Erika - Hey, girl, don't run on tennis day. :lmao:

Back from birthday party number three. I'm going to turn into a piece of cake pretty soon!

I'm here! Finally! I haven't had a minute to slow down all freakin' day.

Ok, so the run. The first 4 or 5 miles went fine. Then I descended into the pits of hell for the next 2 miles. OMG, it was awful. Then, weirdly, it got ok for the last 2+ miles. I actually felt like maybe I could have kept going. This was not the time to push it, though. I was really weak. I didn't re-fuel at all during the run (and you are supposed to have some calories throughout any run that lasts longer than an hour. This was an hour and 35 minutes).

I am awarding myself a goddess crown today. Deal with it.

My feet hate me. Specifically, my toenails. I am told they will turn black when I do a full marathon. Good, I need something to look forward to.

Tennis was ok. Played moderately well, which I will take given the circumstances. The good news is that I have 3 more matches scheduled this week, so that makes me really happy. My team has been really supportive all season--even though the running is not helping my tennis game. I am taking them all out for drinks after next Monday's round. I have not been playing nearly enough. Tennis season is SHORT in Maine. You really need to make the most of it.

Kat
--glad the week-end was good and relaxing. You sure needed it! And wow, yeah, I can imagine that the grandma is freaked having just lost her son. Keep us posted on the f2f!

Liz--holy crap! You have like the best social life of anyone I know. I am so jealous of the party at Shea. I have amazing memories of Shea growing up. Are you all partied out now? Love the pics of Em.

Steph--post the weigh-in results, please. The good, the bad, the OMFG...we let it all hang out here. :lmao:

Dawn--feel better and keep is in the loop.

Deb--thanks for joining us. Ok, so you are Deb, you are a mom of at least one DD, and you live in S. Florida. This is a start. :rotfl2: How many kids? ages? Do you work outside the home? Is your Disney obsession fueled by anything in particular? Weight loss or fitness goals? Details, babe, we need details. :rotfl2: Hey, it isn't like I asked her what her bra size is. Sheesh. :confused3 :rotfl:

Paula
--glad you had a great week-end. Need your weigh-in results as well. You have been on a roll these past few weeks.

Lyz--any new hog drama? Awesome job getting on the dreadmill! WOO HOO.

Nancy--where are you, girlfriend?

My dad got transferred today from the hospital to a rehab unit. This is good. His spirits are up and it gives us some time to get things in order around here.

I have no siblings or family members coming to visit in the near future. Phew.

Ok, logging on to AIM now.

Erika - i was talking about you and your running all weekend. I tell people you run 8-10 miles now. You're my brag story. :)

Too funny! Cause you are MY brag story! :lmao: "OMG, my friend Liz has lost 70 pounds! SEVENTY, not seven, I said seventy. Seven Zero...." :rotfl2:

Ok so It wasn't to bad.. I gained 2.6 back in two weeks but that was two weeks of vacation and being home with my husband who loves me to cook and bake. Which I did for him cookies and breads, chicken parm, and lots of McDonalds and of course TOM showed early, so I don't think I did to bad!

So to make things better after weight watchers tonight I went to the store and bought veggies and salad and chicken breast for dinner!

I bought him DOUBLE STUFFED oreo's only because I don't like the doubled stuffed. Yes I am weird like that ,I like the originals or the white chocolate fudge covered ones (of course)! I did buy myself some WW fudgicles chocolate ones and latte ones. I have to count my points and see if I can have one tonight! If I can't I will wait till tomorrow!

And because I saw that Lyz didn't want to walk the dreadmill and she did I went out and did a mile and a half. I would have gone for the next loop around but I wanted to shower before WW and shave you know shaving can shave a few ounces off of your weight :lmao: :rotfl2:

So Zac's stomach flu wasn't bad I think it was just like mine just felt yucky. Ty still not feeling well! So I managed to have the day off and it wasn't as stressful as I thought it was going to be!
That is all to report for the night work tomorrow only for a few hours then another day off!

Hi all,

Sorry for the lateness of this post, but the night truly got away from me...

Well, the day of reckoning finally arrived and my weekend of fun means that it was time to pay the piper. I gained 3 pounds this week.... Now, in order for me to feel all right about this, I must do a bit of rationalization... Last week's weigh in was probably a bit inflated due to the fact that I changed clothes before my appointment and left my heavy jeans behind in favor of capris. So, this week, not only did I have my weekend of moderately excess food and liquor to deal with, I was back to wearing my jeans. So I suspect that I still gained weight this week, but in my head, I am cancelling out about 1-1/2 pounds of that to denim... Again, a totally fabricated rationalization, but right now it is making me feel better about myself and more imporantantly helping me to resist the urge to say the hell with it and eat everything in sight...

The good news in all of this is that I have a week of exercise planned and good food choices in my fridge, so I have the right mindset to get myself back on track so that I can get back to where I was a week ago.

Have a great night everyone...
Paula

So there you have the good, the bad and the just plain ugly....

Ok, so the 9.3 really kicked my tail. I am going to bed...can't keep my eyes open and the longer I stay on AIM, the more whiney students who IM me.

Details? Brown hair, brown eyes, a Libra, likes long walks in the rain...:rotfl: Bra size is larger than I'd like! :rolleyes1

We live 20 miles due west of Ft Lauderdale, right before you hit the everglades. 4 hours from WDW, where we're going for Sept 4-7! DD is a one-of-a-kind, and turned 6 last week. I work, DH stays home. That's what happens when you've got two highly educated people. We moved here so that I could work (after not being able to get a job) and now he can't find one. I turn 40 this year...

I've always struggled with my weight. Morelike M&Ms, coke, and no exercise. So when I went back to work, DH couldn't find a job, stressful job, DD not coping well to the change, etc. I packed 30 lbs onto a frame that was already barely in the not-obese BMI range. :sad2: Then another 10. :scared1:

But that's over now - I've slowly conquered my addictions. Gone from coke to diet wild cherry pepsi to soda once a week. Out of the vending machines except once a day (which is how I trick myself that I'm NOT on a diet). And getting up to ride my bike before dawn every morning. As a great big huge motivator, I've moved the bike into the house (with DH's permission). It sits there right by the front door, daring me to ignore it.

Right now, I want to lose 11 lbs by Sept 4. 11 lbs, 5 week, I can do this. I'm still in the honeymoon weight loss phase where weight's dropping off, exercise is getting easier, and I haven't gotten injured yet.

Deb

All this and she posts first thing in the morning...LOVE IT! Have you been reading our thread for a while and just decided to come out of lurkdom? Or did you jump on in?

You have great humor, you are going to fit in fabulously around here! Thanks for sharing a bit. I have a DD who is 5.5 and hell on wheels as well.

4 hours from WDW...heaven! How I wish it could be a "let's just jump in the car and go" type of location for me. :cloud9:

LOVE the idea of keeping the bike in the house. Great motivation! I have a ride planned for this morning as well. I haven't even started it yet, and I have already shortened the course! :rotfl2: I woke up still sore from yesterday's run. So now the 17-mile ride is already down to 14 (and I may drop it to 12 before I finish typing this post! :rotfl2: )

Alrighty, everyone...time to get up! Deb and I are the older members of this little tribe and WE are already up and posting (but she has a year on me...had to get that in, you know! ;) ). Get your young a$$es up and outta bed! :rotfl:

By the way, Deb, we all have our intros/bios posted on page one of this thread (post # 2) so you can learn all about us. :goodvibes

Good morning....

Just so we're clear on this morning crap... I am at work no later than 8:00 every morning, so it is not like I am home sleeping in or anything... I just don't always get the chance to post when I get to the office... lol..

Hope everyone has a great day so far...

Paula

In my defense! during the school year I am always the first one on! Summer I sleep!

So the FLU was fine until last night. . . . I heard this crash and I went running and there was my poor Zac Running for the bathroom leaving a trail behind him. Not the thing I want to be doing at 1230 am. So till 130 I was doing laundry and cleaning, Now I have to go vacuum and do a proper clean to the bathroom. Now Ty is still saying he doesn't feel good, considering he is laying on the floor to eat his breakfast I am saying he doesn't. I am trying to push fluids so that they don't get dehydrated but that is like pushing a cat into water not working so well!
Speaking of cats. Cat people need your opinion!!!! Zeus aka: Fat B@stard has been following me around and normally he does that when he doesn't have food So I feed him but food is full and water is full. If I am here at the puter he is sitting by my feet. I got up this morning and he was in my room where he never goes, he usually sleeps with the boys or at the top of the stairs where he is sure to trip everyone. As I write he is sleeping beside me on the chair. So my question is guess is this normal, do your cats follow you around. Have I just not noticed that he is always around me???
So I went back to tracking! :goodvibes I stayed within my points I think I had about 5 left plus the one that I earned for walking yesterday! I am going to try to fit in a walk today if it doesn't rain, I an not like Deb (HI DEB  ) I don't like to walk in the rain. Considering the last two times it's rained we have had total destruction around here! BIG STORMS!
Ok off to clean up! Let's hope that I don't get

Okay, I am back.

Pissy, irritated, don't want to be here, but back.

Reality Bites!

However, I have 3 face-to-face scheduled for this week and am waiting to hear back on the 4th.

Her younger brother killed himself (at age 22) two years ago (shot himself in the head with a shotgun, they think it was a gun-cleaning accident), and I think her mom is still very fragile about it, so that might be why?

You know some grandparents are just disengaged. My grandparents were like that. I didn't know different until I married and saw a whole other grandparent world.

I can say that this weekend just affirmed my desire not to have kids. I love my friend dearly, and I loved her daughter by association (I even tried to put her down on Sat night), but man, I just don't want that for myself.

I LOVE that you are certain this is not what you want. It's refreshing.

Ok, so the run. The first 4 or 5 miles went fine. Then I descended into the pits of hell for the next 2 miles. OMG, it was awful. Then, weirdly, it got ok for the last 2+ miles. I didn't re-fuel at all during the run (and you are supposed to have some calories throughout any run that lasts longer than an hour. This was an hour and 35 minutes).

Intersting. You don't run with a drink?

I am awarding myself a goddess crown today. Deal with it.

Um, I think you have one permanently attached anyway.

My feet hate me. Specifically, my toenails. I am told they will turn black when I do a full marathon. Good, I need something to look forward to.

Ok WHAT? For starters, you never, and I mean never, complain about aches and pains associated with all your exercise and activity. I pretty much thought you just felt good. I mean, you don't want to go sometimes, but overall, it was perfect. Your feet hurt? Like are you gimping? What else hurts?

Liz--holy crap! You have like the best social life of anyone I know.

Totally!

Hey, it isn't like I asked her what her bra size is. Sheesh. :confused3 :rotfl:

Not yet.

Lyz--any new hog drama? Awesome job getting on the dreadmill! WOO HOO.

Dreadmill. Still love it! No, no hog drama. They get weighed again Thursday night, so we will then decide who will show at fair and who will be our dinner.

My dad got transferred today from the hospital to a rehab unit. This is good. His spirits are up and it gives us some time to get things in order around here.

Good.

I love baking and cooking. I go thru spurts.

So to make things better after weight watchers tonight I went to the store and bought veggies and salad and chicken breast for dinner!

I bought him DOUBLE STUFFED oreo's only because I don't like the doubled stuffed. Yes I am weird like that

Ok, I thought we had alot in common, but well, not liking double stuffed oreos just canceled all the rest out. I mean, who doesn't like double stuffed oreos? I take one side off of two and smush them together to make a quad oreo.

And because I saw that Lyz didn't want to walk the dreadmill and she did I went out and did a mile and a half.

WOW! I love inspiring people. Who knew?

I would have gone for the next loop around but I wanted to shower before WW and shave you know shaving can shave a few ounces off of your weight :lmao: :rotfl2:

Totally. And go to the bathroom. And take off the jewels. And don't use hairspray. And...And...And...

Well Paula, I'm right there with you on the rationalizing. Makes perfect sense to me.

Love the honeymoon weight loss phase and that's a good way to phrase it. My honeymoom phase isn't going as well as I had planned, but I'm not ditching it yet.

What work do you do?

And yes, you have to get to the walking/bike path before the rest of the worlds idiots arrive.

All this and she posts first thing in the morning...LOVE IT! Have you been reading our thread for a while and just decided to come out of lurkdom? Or did you jump on in?
