In search of my body...not the one I ate! Part Deux... We sit at the popular table!

Yes, my feet hurt after yesterday's run. And that is the second time they have hurt (the other time was after my last long run). I guess my feet are just not conditioned yet.

Today, my feet are fine but my hip flexors kill. So there. And as for never complaining...umm, hello? Do you remember April and May when I complained about my IT bands for like freaking ever? OMG, I was whining to Nancy every other post.

Yes, I drink during my runs. When I am on the dreadmill I have a water bottle right there. When I am outside I wear a camelbak (not the backpack kind, but the kind that fits right in the small of your back) so that is good for hydration, but it is not good for calories and fuel and carbs and electrolytes, etc. So I have to figure that out.

As for today...I didn't ride my bike AT ALL, so there! My mom couldn't watch the kids, so I had to go to the gym (and take them with me). I did 40 minutes on the arc and 30 minutes of strength training.

But go pick on NANCY! She's the one who does all of those 20+ mile rides! :worship: :worship: :worship:

Ok, I think it is TOTALLY unfair that only one hog gets to go to the show. (Add indignant and self-righteous smileys here. lol) Why can't they both go? And how on earth do you decide? I mean, really, isn't it a bit like choosing which kid is your favorite?? Poor lonely hog. And how do the girls feel about eating one of the animals that they raised?

Pool time. More later.

Just checking in. I have a new gig for the next few days, so it's very cool but stressing me out. If I disappear, that's why. Have to catch up and reply!!!

Ok, who else is thinking a 12 mile bike ride is a champion run, not a "ease up" deal? Freakshow.
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
I LOVE IT!!!!!!!! Yeah, HHHMM I did two mile and thought I was going to DIE right there in the road with no one around but the corn!
So 12 miles is CHAMPION Well then we do have NANCY who does 22 miles that is just not right!

I so agree! I'm trying to psych myself up and work towards a 11 mile Saturday trek in about a month. Some day when I won't have anything else to do for the rest of the day so my jello legs can recover.

I've seen talk about the Dark Side. I think I'm there. I overslept this morning, and over the course of 3 minutes went from "well, I guess I'll skip exercise and get in to work to catch the 7:30 meeting" (0 exercise) to "well, I guess I can take a quick walk around the block" (5 minute walk) to "I'm sure I've got time for a 3 mile ride" (15 minutes) to "heck, just do the whole 5 miles and go into work a few minutes late" (25 minutes). :cheer2: This on top of going out for a 3 mile ride last night to combat last weekend's indulgences. :cheer2: Can I be proud of myself now? :cheer2: :cheer2:

Deb

Love the honeymoon weight loss phase and that's a good way to phrase it. My honeymoom phase isn't going as well as I had planned, but I'm not ditching it yet.

What work do you do?

And yes, you have to get to the walking/bike path before the rest of the worlds idiots arrive.

Oh My God - you are so right about the idiots. They fall into 3 major categories: (1) doggie-dodging. Not having any clue that it's a problem when you're on the right side of the path and fido is on the left. (2) 3-across toss. Strolling in packs, taking the whole width of the path. (3) Deaf middle-dwellers. Runners/walkers with headphones who run in the middle of the path. Then there's the evening gnat swarms. And the drive-through showers. Why does the development think they have to water when I want to be riding? I only end up drenched on one side, so it just looks stupid.

I'm just about to don a helmet and get myself in the street. But then I think I'll be hotter and sweatier and don't think I could stand that.

Oh, I guess I forgot about that.

Ok, I think it is TOTALLY unfair that only one hog gets to go to the show. (Add indignant and self-righteous smileys here. lol)

Hey, in our house, if you don't perform, you don't go. (lol, just kidding.)

Why can't they both go? And how on earth do you decide? I mean, really, isn't it a bit like choosing which kid is your favorite?? Poor lonely hog. And how do the girls feel about eating one of the animals that they raised?

Cause you can only take one to fair. You get two, in case something happens, like death, or weight problems.

We decide by looks and personality.

Right now, Willie is the best choice. He looks great and has a good attitude. BUT...he is heavier and if overweight, can't go. (And his ear is a little narly.)

Duke, (who is perfect on weight) on the other hand is LAZY. He won't even eat standing up. He lays down with his head in the bowl so he doesn't even have to lift it up. And he'll lay down any time, anywhere, not good in the show ring. AND he's got one blue eye. (Willie has two black eyes.)

Molli says she won't eat her hog. And I don't know if I'll be able to either. We will find out. Maddi already teases Molli when we eat pork, so I don't know if she'll be able to or not.

Deb

Go Deb!!!! Blow off work for exercise. You should be proud. Don't know about your boss...lol.

I'm here! Finally! I haven't had a minute to slow down all freakin' day.

I Hear yah...
\

My feet hate me. Specifically, my toenails. I am told they will turn black when I do a full marathon. Good, I need something to look forward to.

Yup. I lost 2 - one on each foot. Do you wear the double-layer running socks? They do help A LOT...but...loosing a toenail from running means you are a true athlete! ;)

Nancy--where are you, girlfriend?

MARCO....???? :confused3

And because I saw that Lyz didn't want to walk the dreadmill and she did I went out and did a mile and a half.

DREAD-MILL!! I totally LOVE it! :lmao:

Yeah, HHHMM I did two mile and thought I was going to DIE right there in the road with no one around but the corn!
So 12 miles is CHAMPION Well then we do have NANCY who does 22 miles that is just not right!

I love, love, love my bike  Looking for a local 50 mile event for this fall....haven't found one yet...:sad2: I don't know WHAT I'm going to do this winter....

Yeah, Nancy's a freakshow too. For SURE!

Ummm...yeah. That's ok. Talk about me like I'm not right here or anything...:rolleyes1

Yes, my feet hurt after yesterday's run. And that is the second time they have hurt (the other time was after my last long run). I guess my feet are just not conditioned yet.

Just pay attention to how many miles you have on your shoes. They may look good still, but the support systems break down quickly....

Today, my feet are fine but my hip flexors kill. So there.

Yoga. That and massage. The only things that helped me thru my marathon training. well, that and my pure insanity...who trains for a marathon thru the holiday season? :rolleyes1

I use Gu. I like it better than Power Gel, but either one is good...

But go pick on NANCY! She's the one who does all of those 20+ mile rides! :worship: :worship: :worship:

yeah, yeah.. mom of 3 teens - I have thick skin for sure (HEY - maybe THAT'S my issue. I'm heavier than I want to be because of all my THICK SKIN! :lmao: hey - I'm going with that for now...)

SUPER busy here - back to arranging tv, radio & newspaper interviews with DD.....with any luck I'll be here tonight with a full update....

You people lose toenails and you want me to run?

No, really.

Okay, crawling back into the work hole. Just saying.

LMAO Liz. I am just picturing you crying over pretty sandals and black toenails. :rotfl2:

Hogs. Still somewhat frightened.

Loved the dreadmill comment. Great term.

I think I might be back on track with eating. Not sure yet but I am hopeful.

Have I mentioned lately how very, very much I hate my job??

I think I am irritated and sad and that isn't helping. Plus today's face to face was a bust. So, dance card is as follows:
1) F2F at company on 7/18, waiting to hear about possible offer. Would take if offered and money was right.
2) F2F at company today, if offer came, would likely not accept unless money was just too much to turn down. Lateral move, no closer to home, and grim.
3) F2F at startup this week, will likely not accept offer from what I know of them, but not ruling out completely until meeting
4) F2F at company across the street this week, not entirely sure yet what they are about.
5) Waiting for F2F for company nearby (good prospect), have passed phone screen
6) Phone screen at 4 and 5 today with new possibilities

So, I have put out about 10-12 resumes, and have heard from 9 (2 were not on the same page w/r to salary). Not too bad.

Ummm...yes? Really -who needs those toe nails anyway? Besides - just paint them all black and be *hip*! :goodvibes

:yay: :yay:

I need help with that - I fell off the wagon myself. Then that dang wagon ran me over and left me for dead in the ditch... :sad2:

Sounds promising Kat - I really hope that you get a good offer from someone that you WANT to work for... :thumbsup2

Ok - one more newspaper to contact today, then I'm calling it "quits" for now. Have to run to the party shop to find cake topper things....my BIL's 50th birthday party - a surprise - is Sat and I have to make the cake. Wouldn't be so bad if I just did it myself - but my niece has this "plan" that has the rest of us nervous....her older sister will have a STROKE if this cake gets messed up....oy the pressure

Hi all...

I'm with Liz... running is not worth black toenails... unless of course you cover them with the latest black polish...

OK - what's with only one hog getting to go to the fair... something don't smell right there...

Kat - hang in there.... any job worth having is worth working for, so you need to be patient..

It has been a rough day here today.... I am stressed to the max with issues at work... I am heading home soon and am going to the driving range to get rid of some energy...

talk to you all later,
Paula

You must be so proud of her!

You people lose toenails and you want me to run?

No, really.

Okay, crawling back into the work hole. Just saying.

But it is for a good cause, no? :rotfl:

And Nancy, I think you are right...time for new running shoes. I have been using these since February-March-ish and have logged maybe 500 miles or so on them.

VERY promising! I am sure one will come through big time!

As for the hogs. This is unacceptable. I think we need to start and Equal Rights for Hogs group. Or some sort of Hog Empowerment organization. :lmao:

Just tucking the thread in and saying good night...since all of you are, you know...lame. :lmao:

Good morning, all!

I did it! After 2.5 miles I was feeling great. After 3.5 miles I was feeling good. I pushed through to 7 miles this morning! And,I kept my pace up the entire time! 7 miles, 33 minutes. My legs aren't even sore (yet).

Deb

Deb

Good morning, Deb. I haven't properly introduced myself - I've been MIA a lot lately....anyway...welcome to the *family*. :goodvibes

Forgive me, I've been w-a-y behind. What were we doing this morning? Whatever it was, glad you got up and did it!!! :yay: I'm taking the a.m. off (well, from exercise that is.....have to take DD to the 4H extension office to put together her press packets....:headache: )....going for a "ladies only group ride" this evening at the bike shop...:woohoo: should be fun!!

Good Morning everyone...

Hope you all had a great night... It is hump day... time to get off our humps and take a few steps towards a healthier lifestyle... I am playing golf tonight and I can't wait... It has been too long since I actually played the game and not just hit balls on the range...

What is everyone doing today to get their humps moving???? Deb biked (I think) seven miles already and if I know Erika, she is out doing something (running, biking, playing tennis, taking classes at her gym... something :rotfl: ).

Talk to you all later,
Paula

I am recommitting today. No more night eating, and back to the gym at lunch. I have my clothes in the car and good food in my fridge and this is the END of the backslide I have been in for the past 2-3 weeks.

As to the other, you all are right. I need to figure out what I need to do. I think I am going to bite the bullet and get in touch with the contact I have, and just pay it outright. $90/visit hurts, but it is better than dealing with this alone.

I took the kitten in this morning to get fixed and declawed. I had to isolate her last night so that she wouldn't be able to eat and drink or use the other cat's litter (had to put down shredded paper for when she gets home), and the other cat was extremely distraught. She really, really wanted me to let that kitten out, until I finally had to lock her up in another room at about 2:30AM. It was irritating, yet cute at the same time because it means they really have bonded.

Anyhow, back to pretending to care about this place. Hope everyone has a great day!

WOO HOO! Great job! Goddess crown for you!

Um, nothing...yet. :lmao: I have to re-evaluate my routines (time to shake things up a bit, I think...) so I have to figure out what I am going to do for a workout today. I should run...but am still feeling Monday's long run (just a bit...not a big deal).

Go KAT! You know how to do this. You just needed a break. Now you will get back on it! Post your food and exercise and we will keep you accountable. :goodvibes

And about the other--yeah, I think it is worth it...at least for a little while.

Did I read this right...Erika hasn't worked out yet today..... I'm speechless....

It is good to shake things up a bit though.... take care of yourself!!!!
