In search of my body...not the one I ate! Part Deux... We sit at the popular table!

Did I read this right...Erika hasn't worked out yet today..... I'm speechless....

It is good to shake things up a bit though.... take care of yourself!!!!

Paula

You really want to freak out? It is almost 5pm and I still haven't worked out today! I am hoping to get to a 5:45 boxing class...but that depends on whether or not J gets home in time.

Spent the day visiting with my dad and in Freeport at L.L. Bean (but not fun shopping). And then I a had an absolutely HORRIBLE experience trying on bathing suits! I thought I would get a good deal, end of the season and all....and OMG. I still have ROLLS hanging around! Talk about a deflating experience. Yes, it was that awful.

More tonight.

Yeah - I feel your pain. Thankfully we have a pool, so it's not too often that people outside my immediate family see me in my bathing suit! I feel like I have one of those "personal floatation devices" around my middle. Not attractive at all....:sad2:

Crisis averted. We have secured Hannah Montana bed sheets. :dancer: It only took 5 different stores an a trip to the big city, but, whew, they are mine now. Er, I mean they are Madeline's now.

You people lose toenails and you want me to run?

Ok. This is insane. I mean, let's say you decide to start running and your toenails turn black and start falling off. Isn't your body telling you something. Like maybe, CUT IT OUT! Why would you do this to yourself?

LMAO Liz. I am just picturing you crying over pretty sandals and black toenails. :rotfl2:

I know right! The point is to look good, not gross. "Here comes snaggle toe."

Hogs. Still somewhat frightened.

City Girl!

So, I have put out about 10-12 resumes, and have heard from 9 (2 were not on the same page w/r to salary). Not too bad.

Not bad at all.

OK - what's with only one hog getting to go to the fair... something don't smell right there...

Ha!

I can just see it now....Miss Piggy as "spokes pig"...

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: POWER TO THE PIGS!!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Pig discrimination suite.

Good morning, all!

I did it! After 2.5 miles I was feeling great. After 3.5 miles I was feeling good. I pushed through to 7 miles this morning! And,I kept my pace up the entire time! 7 miles, 33 minutes. My legs aren't even sore (yet).

Deb

Are your legs sore yet? My butt just might die at 7 miles. Course it is a bit bigger than the thimble they call a seat.

I am recommitting today. No more night eating, and back to the gym at lunch. I have my clothes in the car and good food in my fridge and this is the END of the backslide I have been in for the past 2-3 weeks.

Thank goodness. I need your fitness report to get me going. Don't get me wrong, I'm annoyed by the whole, "1 hour on the elliptical and 40 crunches on the ball and 1,000 jumping jacks and...." but it gets me moving.

I took the kitten in this morning to get fixed and declawed. I had to isolate her last night so that she wouldn't be able to eat and drink or use the other cat's litter (had to put down shredded paper for when she gets home), and the other cat was extremely distraught. She really, really wanted me to let that kitten out, until I finally had to lock her up in another room at about 2:30AM. It was irritating, yet cute at the same time because it means they really have bonded.

Aww, they're sisters.

Oh, E. Sounds just awful.

Well, let me tell you, there is nothing like going to the mall to remind yourself what a schlub you are. I feel so, yuck.

There are bigger women who look nice, and bigger women who try to hide, and bigger women who don't care.

"I" am a bigger woman who is trying to hide. And it ain't working. I want to be 40 lbs lighter (at least) like RIGHT NOW!!! I can't stand it.

Ok gonna go walk again. That's gotta help.

edited to add: Where are Liz and Steph and Munky and Jodi and Stacey and.... - these boards don't run by themselves people. And I ain't losing weight by myself either. (Dawn - get better, we are thinking of you.)

LOL--ok, just saw your edited comment. I actually posted that before even reading the new posts! Very exciting. I was listening on my run and I actually let out a yelp when she said it.

You can all stop freaking out. I went for a run. 5 miles. Just returned. It was 7:30pm before I got out the door, but I got my workout in. So you can relax. The planets have realigned and all is well and right with the universe. :lmao: (ok, so maybe that was a just a tad narcissistic. :rotfl2: )

LIZ--I know you are working, but come up for air already!

KAT--post your workout.

JODI--check in, we miss you.

Sarah--Onederland???

Nancy--I don't know that I would wear a real bathing suit even in my own back yard! :scared1: I wear board shorts most of the time. (cause these thighs do not see the light of day! :scared: )

LYZ--you need to get padded bike shorts as they really do make all the difference. You can also get a padded saddle (bike seat) that is made for women.

Oh, and while I am thinking of it...Nancy, Lyz, Deb, and whoever else rides...L.L. Bean came out with a new bike short! Normally, biking shorts are tight black spandex numbers with an over-size maxi-pad sewn in to protect all your parts. Not flattering on most of us. And if you happen to ride into town or to a store or something, not really something you want to be seen shopping in, kwim? But Bean's has bike shorts that look like REAL shorts and still have the padding sewn in. These you would be comfortable being seen in public.

As for black toenails...this usually only happens after marathons, not from regular running.

SO....I went for my first "group bike ride" today....12 women...24 miles...LOADS OF FUN. Definitely would do that again in a heartbeat!

We met at 6:00 at the bike shop - actually, we were supposed to LEAVE at 6:00, but there were a few stragglers, so we left around 6:15...rode a mostly flat course, resisted the urge to "flip off" a few obnoxious drivers  ...one guy actually had the NERVE to yell at us as he drove by..."GO RIDE ON THE BIKE PATH". WTH. :confused3 Bet he makes his momma proud :rolleyes1 People are such idiots. I was in a totally pissy mood when I left my house - feel MUCH better now. (although, that could be due to the glass of wine I just had - ok, 2 glasses....:rolleyes1)

I didn't make it to the gym... was on my way out and some old coworkers were in the deli downstairs and I got caught up in convo.

I am likely skipping hockey tomorrow, too, as I have a 6PM interview (yes, another one). I may make it, though, depends.

However, I did eat fairly well and stayed under my calories today, and no beer. So that at least is a step in the right direction.

And bathing suits are the devil.

Lucky you! I looked today at rides in my area. Most rides advertise 20-24 mph - some are 24-28 mph. :scared1: How crazy is that? The slowest was 15-18, they called it a recovery ride after the 40 mile Sunday ride. :rotfl: I clock in at a solid 12-13 mph. So it's me on my own doing 2 mile loops.

I found a new obstacle this morning - suicidal ducks. A whole family! DH said I should have run them down. He was probably right. (Yes, there's a story there, ending up in DD getting bit by a duck last summer.)

Deb

Deb--are you on a road bike? Hybrid? Fitness? Trail? or Mountain? Nancy is on her new road bike. I have a fitness bike and my mileage is slower than if on a road bike. I clock in at 17-18 (and only hit over 20 when going down hill! :rotfl: ).

ummm..yeah...20-24 MPH? that's fast. And 24-28 MPH? maybe if I'm going down a MOUNTAIN

Ducks? I haven't encountered any of those. Squirrels, yes. :squirrel: God how I hate squirrels. :scared: The stupid rodents sit there and DARE you to get near them then they dart back and forth just waiting for you to make a wrong move and crash into a ditch. Curse them all. Every one of them!

And turkeys. We came across a whole ? flock ? of wild turkeys tonight hovering just off the edge of the road....bunnies, turtles, snakes, DOGS...but no ducks....yet....:goodvibes

Good point! I go WAY faster on my road bike than I did on my old mountain bike. Those skinny little tires do take some getting used to - and the "clip" shoes? well, let's just say I took a less-than-graceful tumble with those puppies..:rolleyes1 Thankfully the only thing that was hurt was my pride, as it was NOT a private fall...

So - Erika - you still lovin' the new bikes you got for yourself and hubby?

It is a rafter of turkeys...:teacher:

Don't ask me why the hell I know that! :lmao:

But it is also a murder of crows (weird, eh?)...oh! And goats! Either a tribe or a trip of goats. And let's not forget the hogs! A group of pigs can be either a drift or a drove (and if you call them swine, it is a sounder of swine). Yeah, lots of useless knowledge floating around up here. :rotfl2:

My brain is like a snowglobe...shake it and you never know what is gonna fall out! :lmao: (Get it, Lyz?)

There is a poster of these things at my peditrician's office - When the kids were younger, I used to know them ALL but now I only can think of "covey of quail"....at least I *think* that's right :confused3 ...oh...and I guess I should be *fired* as our 4H goat leader, because I just call 'em a HERD....(or nightmare, depending on how things are going....:rolleyes1 )

Oh - please. Don't shake my brain. I get things confused enough as it is! :goodvibes

OMG, I will NEVER catch up!!!

Okay, brief surfacing. Then back to the salt mines, I mean makeup blogs. Seriously, these daily deadlines are making me work for my money!

Crisis averted. We have secured Hannah Montana bed sheets. :dancer: It only took 5 different stores an a trip to the big city, but, whew, they are mine now. Er, I mean they are Madeline's now.

Ok, I'm here! but working. So just carry on! Besides, nothing to tell. Weighed in, didn't gain, thank God. Minus .2. Didn't exercise. Busy weekend, lots of work. Good times. Tell me more stories, i LOVE the stories!!!!

WOW, Liz...considering your social agenda, the fact that you STILL posted a loss is incredible! Awesome! :cool1:

I had to read this twice to make sure you weren't poking fun! ;)

You guys are my biggest cheerleaders, and it shows. Thanks, babe!!!

OMG, I would never poke fun at a LOSS! (Or a gain for that matter!) You are so strong and successful at this whole weight loss thing. Truly amazing!

My point was...if that had been me? With all of those social functions? It would have been a gain...so not pretty. But you? You cruise through it all and still lose. Amazing, I tell ya!

Ok I am here... we are still dealing with the flu. Unfortunately zac has it and he is not absorbing any food coming out both ends. His blood sugars are remaining low I will be up all night checking him. For the last 4 hours his blood sugar level has ranged from 40 - 58 finally at 1245 he was 69. I gave his some pudding and gator aid to drink I hope it continues to go higher or we will be in the ER. I was told tonight by the Nurse Practitioner on-call that if his sugar goes to low I need to call for the ambulance because he could go into seizures if his sugar goes to low... you are asking what is a NORMAL blood sugar for a Normal person it should be 90-120, for a diabetic child it should be 70- 150.
So for those four hours that his sugar was low we had 8 oz of juice 4 tsp of carmel sundae topping regular ginger ale. NOTHING WAS WORKING! I guess I have called enough times to VT tonight that the girl said Oh Zac's sugar not going up still! UUUHHHHGGGG! They know me now! this is Zac's first illness since he was diagnosed in 2006. I have to recheck his blood sugars every hour tonight so I think Zac man and I will be pretty tired.

Oh and Liz I didn't wake stephen... we ended up driving to the supermarket and getting ginger ale and cleaning supplies to clean up the mess he had made earlier!
I will be on sometime tomorrow if I am not in the hospital with him which I am thinking right now I won't be!

Steph - I hope it all works out! Fingers crossed.

WAKEY WAKEY!!!! Board Babes!

Man, I am obnoxious when woken too early. I am up and working. And I went to bed at 1am. Yuck. I love sleep, i want to sleep all day. Oh, well.

So, here's my social rundown, because I know you care - or not, but by the time I write this it will be too late! Hah! :lmao:

Today - Bruce concert tonight, with parents and inlaws. That's Springsteen for those of you who are not from the Garden State. He just did a series of nights at Giants Stadium, and this is the last one. Should be good. Everyone I know has gone at least one night. No joke. It's like talking about the weather here, a safe bet.

But before that, I have work to deliver, another day of work to start if not finish, and my house to ready for the babysitter - my nephew, who is going to stay overnight. It's easier that way. Oh, and his sister is coming, too, to stay over. It's their parents' anniversary, so I said they could stay, give their mom and dad a night alone! Oh, and to go to the bank and take out a loan to pay him with! :rotfl:

Friday - Deliver work by noon, them head to the city in the evening to see my friend Michelle who is in town. I'm staying overnight, so that means packing and stuff, a pretty dress to wear, a decent something to sleep in. I haven't seen Michelle since her wedding in Oct, which I came home from and joined WW. So she hasn't seen me, and she doesn't really keep up with me. This will be a surprise to her! But also, I have to plan places to go. Sigh. Cruise director!

Saturday - A nice relaxed day of coming home, and then book club at night. Yes that's right, third social occasion in a row. We drink wine at book club. A lot of wine.

Sunday - work, to deliver by 11am on Monday, because I have another client at 11am, and then the Police concert at night. Fourth social occasion!

I'm going to be liking Monday, only Monday is jam-packed with work stuff. But sadly, I need work to escape my social eating occasions!!!!

So, that is my wrap up. Two concerts, two friend nights in four days. Social butterfly, that's me. Anyone want to give me their calories, on loan, for the weekend? :rotfl2:
