okay - gotta ask a question...
I am completely offended by the new Brooke Shields Volkwagon commercials...in fact their is a link on the the pages here for a full video commercial on it...
1st of all...
She is a woman who went through post pardum depression...and she is making light of children being brought into this world...when some kids are killed by woman who suffer from this....the rate of teenage pregnancies....etc etc...I just think Volkwagon did a poor job with getting their message accross...
I get it is about the fact you do not need a mess of kids to buy their new vehicle...that you do not need to be a parent to get into a new sudo mini van..get it...
#2 is the fact I had at least 8 relatives die in the Halocaust..and no I am no perfect person...and I make light of situatuions with a smart mouth all the time...but the whole phrase of ..."breeding babies for German engineering" is a little unsettling.
My mom's Dad was a Jew from Romania/France...my Dad's dad was a full blooded German one step from the boat and served in WWII for America...against his cousins...so I have both sides in me...don't hate or love one side more than the other...but I just could not believe that no one saw some flaws in this marketing campaign...
Brooke is also someone I recently met and Tupperware's new "Chain of Confidence" spokeswoman who is supposed to stand up for girls and empower them to be successfull women and mothers...in this commercial she is ridiculing women...stalking them...who are pregnant...questioning why they really had a baby...making fun of how crowded maternity wards are etc...
Anyway...just thought I would gather opinions... here is the link...hit..watch Routan Boom story...
