In Search of my Body...Not The One I ate...#3 "Crowning Goddesses As We Go"

Steph! I can't believe you are giving out goodie bags of premium candy. One peice would have been plenty! Very generous.

We live in the country, no trick or treaters at our house. We go into town, do a circuit at one grandma's then head over to another grandma's do another circuit then have a party at her house. Fun. I love trick or treating.

Get some gloves! No reason to burn yourself up.

Happy Anniversary!!!!! 15 long years.

NOOOOOO, EriKa's gone, now you and Kat. Who knew halloween would keep everyone hopping.

Fo Shizzle!

When do you leave?

Happy Anniversary Young One!!!

Kat, hope you have a good weekend with your best bud! Don't be a stranger. Or go home with any.

I'll text you.

Liz, like Kat said, in quick links, edit options, turn off the avitars and signatures.

Kat, I didn't know you could do all this until you posted. I turned on discreet/mobile.

We are leaving tomorrow about 8-830 am... I will try to hop on here before I go :)

Well Hello Dollies....

I will recap my past 2 days in hopes of some forgivenes and empathy...

Carsyn and Baylor went to Dr. on Tuesday ...checked out fine but 2 hours of running that day -

Wed was ortho for Carsyn at 8:10 and then dentist for Baylor and Treyner at 1pm. It is 3 hours total of running because we use a dentist in a town 30 minutes away that I have seen since
4th grade and love.

The best was when I went to pick up Baylor - he was nowhere to be found - at our school for 6-8th grade - the kids need a pass to get out of class from office but then can walk out to meet parents.

It is for 12:10 and by 12:15 I call the school justto make sure he is on his way - they send me to attendence to verify he gave them the pass...say yup...dentist at 12:10..then say - they will o try and find him...his class is in the auditorium for a play and maybe he forgot cause he loves school so much...yeah right!

It is now 12:30...my son is missing...Treyner is wondering WTH I am because he is waiting at the HS - and Baylor has his phone off like a good kid in school so I cannotreach him...Pannick is setting in esp. when they call me saying his teacher told them he left at 12:10 and said he was walking to the dentist...

Ummm...we dentis 30 minutes away and I said where he was going on the note I sent on which your pass should have copied...

But...I knew where he was...the ortho..which literally connects with the MS parking lot so they get loads of kids who can walk to and from and not have to have parents miss work...

Baylor was supposed to have been seen yesterday - but I switched the date just the day before with them because of the dental appt.

I fly to the ortho...run up 2 flights of stairs...and no Baylor in lobby...I ask the receptionist...where is my son...they say...Ohhh...Hi..he's in the back...

I am like ***...

They say....well we thought it was strange since his appt was not till next Thursday but we had room for him so we squeezed him in... I am calmly griytting my teeth and explaining that noooo..he was noyt supposed to be seen today...I talked with Jenny yeasterday and explained why he had to move his appt due to a dentist appt in Burnsville...

I was so mad that they did not bother to call/text whatever to verify...helllooo..they have a 12 year old boy in a room that just walked out of school without verifying anything...I am pissed off...

So I grab him...not finished...teeth half done...and we fly to HS..at 12:50 now...to pick up the kid who starts to say...we are always late..and then with the look of medusa...I shut him down...

******This was started 2 hours ago...just got a frantic call from Treyner - he needs his NCAA clearinghouse paperwork in (umm...whats that?? Isn't a school counseling office for seniors supposed to help parents who are not prior athletes???) on top of a physical in the last 6 months...ummm..nooo..here in MN it is every 3 years for HS athletes...and all these forms new with a new AD filled out...to practice...!!! The coach is going ballistic because none of this he knew and he has 10 soccer boys from around the worls using his phone and fax right now scrambling to get all this cr@p in...I need a drink....

I seriously am sorry - I just can't think of hwat I wanted to say o everyone

Munky _ Have a great time
E - you are blessed - I want to rub your butt like a little blarney stone...love your trippie
Lyz - you are my queen of reality in food and facing the mirror
Liz - great mom - have a fun weekend

Nancy and Lisa and Amy and Snuffster....hello...I am thinking of you all..

Happy anniversary, Sarah!

Erika- I'm currently living vicariously thru your report....(goin' to my happy place....:goodvibes )

Paula - did anyone ever....apologize?...for the fact that you got up in the middle of the night, and showed up early to work yesterday just to wait...and wait...and....:confused3

Turn your avitars and signatures off. It's so much easier to read the DIS from a phone when you don't have all those pictures to download.

Lyz - you amazing technological guru you...:wizard: ...who knew? :confused3 (I was feelin' pretty proud of myself that I knew what an aviatar was! )

I will recap my past 2 days in hopes of some forgivenes and empathy...

Ugh. I so hate it when crap like that happens. We don't have time for ONE appointment - but to mess it all up like that? Infuriating! Glad you got thru it....good luck with that NCAA paperwork. Ain't college app's just so much fun

I just can't think of hwat I wanted to say o everyone

That happens to me more often that I care to admit! :headache:

Speaking of forgetting to tell you something....

How could I possibly have forgotten this piece of happiness....WE HIRED ANOTHER WOMAN AT WORK! :yay: :yay: Yes, "we"...I had to be part of the interviewing process with this gal. Today was her 2nd day - so far, so good...she is really very witty, which makes it all the more fun...and while she doesn't yet know a whole lot of what we do there, she's a quick study and has been totally and completely helpful these past 2 days! :woohoo: :woohoo:

And...confessional time....this morning, I was saying how I felt good, and was feeling more like the "me I wanted to be"...well the "me that I don't care for so much" basically bullied the "good me" and forced the "good me" to eat a stinkin' cinnamon bun at work today! WTH!?!?! I NEVER, EVER, EVER eat those things. They are like giving crack to a druggie, I tell you. :scared: Bad news....bad, bad, bad. :sad2: But all day long those damn things were starin' me down, and finally the "bad me" decided she knew how to fix that stupid cinnamon bun. She was going to teach it a lesson for staring all day. Yep - she was gonna EAT it so that it couldn't ever stare at anyone ever again. :headache:

stupid, stupid, stupid <beating my head against the wall>. Yes, it'll be in my food report tonight....:sad1:

This is possibly the funniest thing on this incarnation of this thread. :rotfl: And sooo true! I ate that pumpkin pie last night to prove that I don't really like pumpkin pie!

Was it good?

SIGNATURE: "Hu-yuck!" (goofy laugh); "Ahhhhh-hooo-hooo-hooo!" (Alpine yell) and the simple-minded, bashful "Gawrsh," and his signature song is: "The World Owes Me a Living" (which he has sung or hummed in several cartoons).
BIOGRAPHICAL DETAILS: Goofy is well-meaning, good-natured, but stupid and clumsy. He began his career at Disney as a whiskered, bespectacled old goober munching spectator in "Mickey's Revue." During the early part of his career (in both film and comics) he was known as a more youthened Dippy Dawg, and his personality was that of a 'goofball.' His 'goofiness' and, especially his raucous laugh became his trademark and other characters began referring to him as "Dippy the Goof" (first called so in the 1938 book titled "The Story of Dippy the Goof"). His 'goofy' stamp stuck and his name eventually evolved to it's current form as simply "Goofy" (first called in "Goofy and Wilbur" - 1939). He was first spotlighted in "Goofy and Wilbur," and quickly became a studio superstar. Goofy comprises one-third of the Mickey-Donald-Goofy trio of comrades, and is one of Disney's Fab-5 (the others being Mickey, Donald, Minnie, and Pluto). He has also had a long and successful career in comics where he usurped Horace Horsecollar as Mickey Mouse's sidekick (but was briefly replaced by the alien Eega Beeva), and later headlined his own comics. In the mid 1950s Goofy acquired a mynah bird named Ellsworth who can not only talk, but actually carry on conversations. Later he was accompanied by his extremely intelligent nephew, Gilbert. As Super Goof, Goofy is imbued with super strength, super breath, super telescopic vision and super flight, all from swallowing magic goobers (peanuts) which he keeps under his hat, and grows in his garden, and his nephew acts as his sidekick, Super Gilly. As the Mighty Knight, Goofy plays his ancestor who was struck by lightning and endowed with super-human abilities, which he can also transfer to his horse, Sir Hayburner, granting the horse the ability to fly. The Mighty Knight was often accompanied by his faithful sidekick, Squire Gus (Gus Goose's own ancestor). Aside from his roles in many "How to..." films and as the athletic "Sport Goofy," he has portrayed the "everyman" in many of his films, usually under the name of George G. Geef. Several of these films have portrayed Geef (also called Goofy in these films) as married to a woman (probably another dogface), who is tall, slender built and has red hair. She is also very 'goofy.' However, we were never given a good look at her from the front. She was always referred to as "Mrs. Goofy" or "Mrs. Geef." The resulting offspring was a small red-headed, red nosed dogface boy named George Junior, or simply "Junior." Apparently, upon reaching puberty, Junior's hair and nose changed color and his name was revealed in the series "Goof Troop" to be "Maximum Goof," Goofy's inept attempt to name him "Maximillian," though the boy usually goes by the shortened form of "Max." He is still called Goofy Junior, however. Something, yet unrevealed, happened to Goofy's wife (Max's mom). Exactly 'what' is left to speculation. In these "Geef" shorts, Goofy also has a pet dog named "Bowser" who first appears in "Man's Best Friend" (1952) where George wants him as a watchdog, but gets far more than he bargained for. In "Father's Day Off" (1953) George tries his hands at housework and accidentally put Bowser in the washer. Again in "Father's Weekend" (1953) Bowser goes to the beach with George and Junior. Aside from they mysterious Mrs. Goofy, Goofy has had very few female companions (he has occassionally become enamoured of inanimate objects like a ship's wooden figurehead). A couple of notable, or rather forgetable, affairs were with the equally goofy Clarabelle Cow, and her apparent rival for Goofy's affections, Glory-Bee. While Glory-Bee might be considered a good character, fortunately Clarabelle's amourous sidetrack was short-lived, and she returned to her former paramour, Horace Horsecollar. Another love of Goofy's was Mickey's Aunt Marissa (from a Floyd Gotfredson tale printed June 17 - 29, 1946, and reprinted twice in WDC&S #95 and #575). Goofy, now a single dad, currently lives in Spoonerville with his son and pet cat, Waffles. Their immediate neighbors are his longtime nemesis and former schoolmate, Pete, and Pete's wife, Peg, along with their children P.J. and Pistol, and pet dog, Chainsaw. For a while in the 1930s, in a British publication, Goofy and Toby Tortoise teamed up as detectives for a while. The film "The Goofy Success Story" (Dec. 7, 1955), and the comic book the "Goofy Success Story" (Dell "Four-Color" #702 - May 1956) tell a version of Goofy's history and rise to fame.
HISTORICAL FACTS: While Mickey may have been the most famous Disney character, and Donald, the most popular; Goofy was certainly the most colorful and versitile. Goofy has played more "types" of roles than any of the others making him the studio's most useful character. Goofy has even played every character in several of his films (including the female characters), he has also played all of his relatives (except for the roles of his wife and son).
LITTLE KNOWN SECRETS: [?] Purportedly the term "geef" is Australian or British slang loosely meaning "a foolish blunder or brainless act" which may account for his name "Geef."
WORKING THEORIES: none

Well Hello Dollies....

I will recap my past 2 days in hopes of some forgivenes and empathy...

Dawn! Sounds like a day from heck! Everything was an emergency. Breath in. Breath out.

I hate days like that. Christmas day. Heck Halloween is usually like that too. I am determined to not rush tomorrow!!!

Erika- I'm currently living vicariously thru your report....(goin' to my happy place....:goodvibes )

I know, right!

That was necessary. Yaay for Nancy!

:rotfl: Hi Lar Ious! Your evil twin is something else. She is a bully. Going around eating things that stare at her. err you.

I don't have anything to add. Calm evening. Tired. Not tracking or exercising. Wonder why I never lose weight? Wait, it's my "bad me". Yep.

Just checking in with my food...

Breakfast: oatmeal and coffee
Lunch: tomato and mozzarella salad
Dinner: pulled pork and green beans

Now here comes the really bad stuff :scared1: :scared1: ...Snack size snickers (I couldn't put off buying halloween candy any longer!), candy corn (I also let DD have some :scared1: ), 2.5 glasses of white zin and a beer. Ugh. But I am signing up for a 5K that's on Sunday in addition to my regularly scheduled 6 miler on Saturday morning.

I hope to have time tomorrow to get back to my trip report.

To whoever asked about eating Yak and Yeti before the race. It wasn't all that greasy, I think the worst thing about it was the sodium and the resulting mass quantities of water I drank and the amount of time I had to spend in the port a potty line pre-race.

DD is 16 months old. She's growing up too fast. :scared1: :scared1:

We had a freaking FABULOUS day. OMG, we did SO much.

So, the day started…no winning a cruise (or anything else for that matter) today! We made it to Epcot by 9am, of course. We got Kel a Birthday Button (it is still 3 weeks away, but we are telling her that this is her birthday trip). GREAT thing, having that button. She was lavished over all day. I ran to get fastpasses for Soarin while Jeff and the kids made their way to test Track.

Met them at TT and it was a WALK ON! Not only that, but it was a walk-on THREE time in a ROW. We were in heaven! We never do Mission Space (J refuses because he says it kills people), so we went and did Spaceship Earth, and by then our Fastpasses for Soarin were ready, so off we went. SO love that!

DSCF6152.jpg

DSCF6155-1.jpg

After Soarin’ we watched the Jammitors (we have two drummers in the family, so this is a must. This is Jeff’s dream job for when we retire and move to FL). Then we did the Figment ride three times in a row (never any wait there). We all love this ride as a family, so that is why the multiple trips. We actually got engaged on this ride. Love Figment.

DSCF6156.jpg

DSCF6157.jpg

As you may recall, I have been really wanting to replace that awful pic of me with Figment. I tried. But he is not making appearances these days. So it will have to wait.

So, we went and did the Nemo ride (walk on) and Turtle Talk with Crush (another HUGE hit for our family). This was the first time that none of our kids were picked by Crush. Still made for a great show.

DSCF6135.jpg

Time for lunch. We ate at the Coral Reef, which was good. Not great, but definitely decent.

Then, it was off for another ride on Soarin’, Honey I Shrunk the Audience, and some character interaction. We saw…Mickey, Minnie, Chip & Dale, Goofy, Pluto, and Donald. Later in the day we met up with Mary Poppins and Genie, Aladdin, and Jasmine. Here are some shots….

DSCF6170.jpg

DSCF6162.jpg

DSCF6166.jpg

Ok, so while we were waiting for character time, J got a bit pissy. He wanted to get to World Showcase for Food & Wine and could not understand why the kids wanted pics with the same characters that they have a million other pics with.

Finally, it was off to Food & Wine! We started with Canada and England and worked our way around that way. J, as you can see, was in a far better mood at this point.

DSCF6198.jpg

This is where we saw Mary, Genie, and basically drank our way around the world, hitting lots of the booths and most attractions. We also took in some of the World Showcase entertainment.

DSCF6200.jpg

DSCF6182.jpg

We left Epcot at about 4pm and actually had some pool time! It hit the mid-70s today. Chilly for Floridians, but perfect pool weather for our kids. J and I didn’t go in, opting for umbrella drinks poolside instead. OMG, I had SO MUCH to drink today. F&W was great and then we continued it here at the Boardwalk! Always fun to see the crazy clown vomiting out kids!

DSCF6220.jpg

DSCF6217.jpg

After the pool, we got changed and headed to Spoodles for dinner, strolled the Boardwalk, and then home to get cleaned up.

DSCF6244.jpg

Once the kids were in bed, J and I watched an old Woody Allen classic before he turned in. Unless you are from the NY area, you likely don’t get Woody Allen. But I love his movies, though think he is scum in terms of moral stuff.

Overall a great day! We really got a ton in today. And tomorrow is Magic Kingdom! The big enchilada!
