The weather here is CRAZY!!!
The wind kept us up all night and the lights have been flicking on and off all morning!
By this time tomorrow we are supposed to get 2 feet of snow!
Devon is so excited...I could live without it

Crazy weather for me, too, Snow!

High winds, thunder and lightning, and then the sun and pouring rain together the next minute.....lots of rainbows today!

My kids did NOT have school today, due to no heat in the building because of the gas leak.

Swimming is canceled tonight
but DD13's choral concert is ON


we may be a little chilly in the auditorium!

DS took the girls out to lunch today
on their unexpected "at home" day.

supposed to be working on a speech for it


but he is not

his master plan is probably to do it during the choral concert!

I am on the desktop machine
as DS has the laptop
NOT to work on his speech!

Tomorrow is a meeting at DD10's school
they have a new program for dyslexics,
which she qualified for....

good news
we drive a half hour each way to private tutoring
so this may lighten up our evening load a bit

I am actually cooking dinner tonight

strip steaks
green beans with almonds
french fries for the girls
tossed salad


I know, Rachael Ray would be envious!

The storm pretty much just missed us!
We got a little dusting but that's it...I can already see the grass again!
Devon is devastated...she was really hoping for a big storm.

I talked to Mom today though and she said they got hit pretty hard.
No school today for the kids back home!

Well I spoke to soon...

It started snowing around 2 yesterday afternoon and hasn't stopped!
We are getting it hard!!
I couldn't even see a few inches in front of me on my way back from class this morning!

Devon is loving the weather!
We went out and played in the snow last night

I have been quite busy since last on DIS

took a half day of work Thursday to visit the doctor (well momma visit) and visit DD10's school.......

very productive meeting there
she is going to get specialized reading/english/spelling instruction with an actual person, not a computer
EVERY DAY

much more than I had hoped for
this is what she gets at the learning center, specialized for dyslexics
and I didn't think the school would have/offer it, but they did!


It did take some convincing that she actually HAS dyslexia
she compensates and adapts well and earns A's....

We are so pleased that she will be getting what she NEEDS in school to overcome the dyslexia issues

The school has a gas leak
they are digging up a LONG LONG pipe area
through three parking lots

the kids did NOT have school on Wednesday due to this issue
(no heat)

but are back now
except the pool has no heat or hot water
so all pool time has been canceled

Varsity is being bussed to another school
so they can practice
since their season just started

but no 5AM practice

DS's first meet was Friday.
He did well, they lost the meet, though.
too many DQ's team wide....
sure to be some conditioning and practice for that issue

Varsity meet this Thursday
and supposed to be a club meet on Saturday
but htat may be cancelled if they don't take care of the gas issue


it is COLD here
has been hovering around freezing
but with wind chill
