Princess Half Training: Day 148

I did a bunch of different things today. I went out for a walk, planning to do 3-4 miles, but the WNW wind was wicked nasty and I only did 1.5. Then I did 35 minutes on the stationary bike. After dinner, I was feeling restless, so I grabbed an episode from one of my streaming queues (first ep of Foundation on AppleTV+, if you’re curious) and walked on the treadmill until it ended.

Princess Half Training: Day 149

My wake-up time has been moved back another hour. This is not very exciting, but I seem to be surviving.

I did 2 rounds of 20 second yoga tonight. It doesn’t seem like an extra 5 seconds per pose should make much of a difference, but it really does.

I got new achievement on my Apple Watch tonight: 500 day streak of closing my move ring!

Princess Half Training: Day 150

Another treadmill run tonight. It was a nice day, but the wind got bad by the time I was off work and I decided I didn’t really need to run outside for such a short run.

I got something in the mail today for my Springtime Surprise 10K outfit and it’s perfect! I need to pick up one or two things in WDW later this month, and I’ll be all set for that race. No idea yet what I’ll be doing for the other 2 races that weekend.

Princess Half Training: Day 151

I did a half hour dumbbell workout tonight.

So, back in December, I preordered a Loungefly mini backpack from Hot Topic. The shipping label was printed January 27, and then nothing happened. February 3, I contacted Hot Topic and they declared it lost in transit and reordered it for me. The label was printed the next day, and then…nothing happened. So I contacted them again today, they declared the second one also lost in transit, and reordered it again, this time with overnight shipping. That one seems to actually be moving through the shipping system now, so I think I’ll actually be getting it tomorrow. But…I just checked the second order again, and now that one seems to be making progress now 🤦‍♀️ 🤦‍♀️

Princess Half Training: Day 152

The elusive Loungefly bag has arrived! It’s a little bigger than I thought, but after all the hassle in getting it, I’m not giving it up. Also, it’s got Stitch on it 🥰🥰

My run ended up longer than scheduled, but that’s because the finale of Book of Boba Fett was longer than my run was scheduled to be. Everything was good.

I’m very annoyed with runDisney for suddenly deciding to do transportation for Sunrise Yoga. I really really wanted to do it, but because there was no transportation provided, I didn’t register. The whole reason I go to Disney, as opposed to other vacation destinations, is because all (or almost all, RIP DME 😢) transportation is provided onsite. I’m going to keep checking for a random yoga spot, but I’m not holding my breath.

Princess Half Training: Day 153

🥳🥳 I got a spot for Sunrise Yoga!! 🥳🥳 I honestly think it was karma. I saw post of the rD subreddit yesterday from a guy who was thinking of hiring a town car or a limo to get to yoga and was offering space to other people who needed a ride, and I clued him into the fact that Disney had decided to run buses, and lamented their late decision, and he thanked me, and recommended checking for spots. So I did that a couple times an hour today and I managed to catch one!!

Anyway, I did one round of stretching tonight, and walked 35 minutes on the treadmill. I had a tight muscle in my thigh from my dumbbell workout on Wednesday (squats and deadlifts) and it’s feeling better now after the stretching and walking. While I was on the treadmill, I was started watching Jungle Cruise and almost fell on my face laughing—I’m a sucker for the stupid jokes.

Princess Half Training: Day 154

I put together the last costume piece for Princess Weekend: a plaid sash for my Merida 10K outfit. And then I tested it in a treadmill 10K and had no problems. The bear on my wrist gets a bit sweaty, but it’s not like I’m ever going to use it again.

Anyway, the run was kind of exhausting. It was hot in the workout room, despite having the fan on high. I did finish Jungle Cruise, and it was a reasonably good movie.

I’m so over this winter weather! I obviously wouldn’t have been able to run outside today anyway, since I needed to test the sash, but I’m sick of it being in the single digits and icy.

I did an hour on the treadmill (3.29 miles) followed by half an hour on the stationary bike (8.19 miles). I wanted to make sure that I got all my exercise in before the Super Bowl started, I’d hate to miss any commercials 😆😆

Princess Half Training: Day 156

I did a little bit of patio shoveling on one of my breaks today. And tonight, I wanted to try out shorter poses and more rounds for yoga, so I did 3 rounds of 10 second poses, but I didn’t like it. I barely got settled into a pose before it was time to switch.

I was looking back at my 2021 workout log, and already this year, I’ve burned almost 23% of the calories I burned in the entire year of 2021.

Princess Half Training: Day 157

I was so bored today! I don’t have anything to do at work right now. I was so bored that I spent an hour setting up a new training schedule spreadsheet to keep me on track between Princess Weekend and Wine & Dine 2022. I’m adding another weekday running day (Mondays) and increasing my Sunday stationary bike time from 30 minutes to 45 (except when it’s the day after a race). I will probably still do yoga on Mondays (or possibly Sundays) as well as Fridays.

Tomorrow is going to see me spending a lot of time walking on the treadmill. One of my coworkers set up a “One Day Throwdown” steps challenge in our company health app. I think she’s underestimated just how much free time I have waking up at 5am when I don’t need to start work until 8. I think I’ll watch Princess Bride to entertain myself while I get a head start on the other people in the challenge. Also, we have a company info share tomorrow where I have an hour that I just need to listen—no reason I can’t bring the laptop to the treadmill and get 3 miles or so done at the same time.

Today’s very short run was perfectly fine, no problems whatsoever, and I could’ve gone on much longer if I’d needed to.

Yes, technically I’ll get some more steps tonight, but since I took off my watch for charging before bed, they won’t count. As of now, my coworker has logged 17K steps, and our boss has logged 5K. I might have gone a bit overboard, but I definitely won, and get bragging rights for the rest of time. Also, I got to start and end my day watching Cary Elwes movies (The Princess Bride in the morning and Robin Hood: Men in Tights in the evening) and that’s never a bad thing.

Anyway, I’m tired, and the bottoms of my feet are a little sore, but I’m not crippled up or anything, and it’s good practice for Disney next week (holy crap, it’s next week already 😱😱😱)

Princess Half Training: Day 159

My legs and feet feel perfectly fine after all the treadmill walking from yesterday. I was supposed to run today, but my haircut after work got delayed by half an hour, and then I had to stop at the store for my grandma, and still had to eat after I got home, so running was not going to happen. I did enough yoga to close my rings, and I’ll run tomorrow.

So, last year I did my first in-person race at the Twin Cities Marathon Weekend 10K. I was thinking about doing it again this year, but I’m tempted to do the Loony Challenge, which would be a 10K, followed immediately by a 5K (on the same course, doing the first quarter of the 10K out and back) on the Saturday, and then a 10 Miler on the Sunday.

It’s not really any different than any of the runDisney weekend challenges, aside from the 10K and 5K being back to back. And the 10 miler basically has no time limit, since it’s on the marathon course and that runs until 2:15pm, and the 10 miler starts at 7am, so I could walk it if I had to and still finish. The other advantage of the doing Loony is a guaranteed spot in the 10 miler, which is otherwise by lottery only.

I blame all of you for turning me into this person 😁😊😁

Princess Half Training: Day 160

Not a great run tonight, I was really tired. I’m glad it was only scheduled as a half hour. The wind outside is absolutely insane, and I’m thankful I have a treadmill (even though I also hate the treadmill). I don’t think I could even try to run in 30mph winds, even if the roads weren’t icy.

Today’s run was so much better than yesterday’s! But still much too short. I don’t like these short runs and I’m ready to get back to increasing mileage again.

After I got cleaned up, I got my regular carry-on all packed and ready to go. Tomorrow I will get the last of the stuff packed into my running gear carry-on. The suitcase will have to wait until Tuesday to get fully packed, though there’s a bunch of stuff randomly tossed in and around it so it doesn’t get forgotten.

My running gear bag is packed! This tiny little bag, that barely passes my knee (which isn’t that high off the ground, since I’m 5’3” 😆) has a ton of stuff in it!

Full inventory: 2 pair running shoes, 3 pair leggings, 3 shirts, 3 pair socks, 3 pair underwear, 3 sports bras, 1 handheld water bottle, 1 bottle Aleve, 6 sets extra shoelaces, 1 set extra insoles, 1 mini Body Glide, 1 mini Foot Glide, 1pair clip-on sunglasses (in a pocket case), 3 disposable ponchos, 1 mask, 1 visor, 1 bag with safety pins and bib magnets, 1 medal holder, 3 sweatbands, 1 pack of gum, assorted bandaids, and probably a few things I’ve forgotten.

This evening I did 16 minutes on the stationary bike, then 11 minutes of yoga, and then another 38 minutes on the bike.

Oh, and I downloaded some tv seasons to watch on my flights/during resort breaks. This is always a tough decision to make, since I try not to choose anything excessively violent/mature (since you never know who might be sitting next to you on the plane) but I also want something interesting. I went with Foundation, Outlander (season 1, it’s been a while since I’ve watched it), and Invasion. Of course, I sometimes I end up not watching anything on flights because I’m too tired to focus enough, so I also loaded up my Kindle with a bunch of books.
