I'm watching "Kate Plus Eight"....

My thoughts from last night:

1) the adults should have talked about Kate somewhere else, not in front of the children
2) Kate is CRAZY and needs a lot of therapy - she is annoying and wants EVERYTHING done her way. She insults people when they don't "HELP" her the way she thought she wanted to be helped, even though she does not always communicate her expectations.
3) She called Ashley and Jamie her paid help. I guess that is how she looks at them, as servants who are suppose to obey. I realize that Ashley is the nannie but Jamie is suppose to be her friend and should not be treated like paid help.
4) Kate has surely had a breast job. There was no question in my mind after seeing her bend over the RV window. NO question!
5) I have questions about the bodyguard and Kate too. That relationship seems too close but he also seemed annoyed with her and the kids so maybe we are reading too much into their closeness. Not sure.

She has absolutely had a breast job. In the show question and answer show, I nearly spit out my Mountain Dew when she said her tummy tuck was all she had. :rotfl2:

Steve seemed annoyed in a way that only a boyfriend would. As a professional bodyguard (only) he wouldn't get aggravated only. Those guys are used to dealing with annoying protectees.

No guy would put up with someone like that, for that long, unless they were getting something out of it besides a paycheck.

On the other hand, can you imagine?

'I SAID not like that, oh my GOD, do you listen?! How complicated is it to put your hand... do I have to do EVERYTHING? I do like organizing but I need cooperation!"

*passing the brain bleach to go along with that one, sorry, couldn't help it.*

I didn't think it seemed like the talking bad about Kate was in front of her children until the very big blow outs which really how could they avoid being within an ear-shot of any child in such close quarters. I also think it was one of those situations where Ashley became so frustrated and wanted to do her own "damage control" with the cameras rolling because let's face it, Kate also has a way of twisting things around to the public as well as to her children.

Kate also doesn't deserve the same kind of respect of not being spoken about when she did not extend that same courtesy to Jon, her children's father!! What comes around goes around.

Also she completely denounced her relationship with Ashley and Jaime by saying it was not the kind of "paid help" she was hoping for.

I thought Jamie and Ashley were wrong to talk like that about Kate in front of her children. On the other hand, Kate was wrong to berate her friend Jamie in front of her (Jamie's) children too. Similarly, if Ashley is a nanny/sitter/helper (or whatever phrase Kate prefers) then don't berate an employee in public and in front of the children either. What a way to undermine Ashley's authority with the children!

Question, who was compensating them? Kate or TLC? My bet is that they were being paid by TLC as "cast members" during the filming of these episodes. Ashley has been fairly prominently featured recently -- there was an episode when she was left filming alone with the kids. Kate may pay her as a babysitter when not filming but Ashley would be a real fool not to ask for aditional $$ when she is featured on the show. Interestingly, when Ashley wanted to quit, it was a member of the production team who said that they were arranging for her travel.

Agreed. I was watching her yell at him for agreeing to pizza and then saying "let's talk inside - I don't want to do this in front of the cameras" and I thought "It's Jon, part II" :lmao:

Ah. I interpreted that a bit differently. I wondered whether Steve has laid down a very firm boundary with Kate along the lines of, "If you have a problem with my work then we discuss it in private or I walk out on you immediately!" He has been around for years and witnessed a lot of what Jon went through, and how she treats people in general. He's a professional and be more likely to run a mile in the opposite direction than fall for her. That would be professional suicide.

I don't think their relationship is romantic. Kate does seem to be fluttering her eyelashes at him (metaphorically speaking) but he seemed totally over her. Impatient and bored with her demands and shennigans. Of course, I'll be proved wrong if the big surprise that Kate has been twittering about for the finale is Kate and Steve riding off into the sunset together.:lmao:

:thumbsup2

And I will add that I can't imagine going on a rafting trip and complaining about the hot rubber seat (and I raft myself) and then being worried about getting a drop of water on you is absolutely outrageously stupid! That guide was obviously hand-picked to handle Kate! And I'm so glad most of the kids got out of the raft and got wet briefly!

I haven't watched the show for a long time but the previews lured me in and I had a good laugh!

That was hilarious!

No. I think she was speaking at 1st Christian church in E-town, but I refuse to do anything to support her behavior.

Good for you.:)

Oh no! It is just a really good bra!:rotfl2:

As a security specialist Steve Neild has supposedly worked for politicians and governments. That would indicate a professional detachment and a lot of patience. But Tony on DWTS is really used to dealing patiently with egotistical "celebrities" who can't dance. He is a sweet guy, but lost it with Kate Gosselin too. She is really high maintenance and would try the patience of a saint!

I'm glad to see someone else say this, because I agree! I don't think they're "involved" either, it would be so beneath Kate to do such a thing with the hired help. Plus if she were CAUGHT doing it, that would put her at JON'S level (isn't Steve married?) as an adulterer. Her ego couldn't stand that sort of evening of the playing field.

Very good point! He is supposed to be married with children, isn't he?

Although I tend to believe that Kate and Steve are "hooking up", the part in bold really makes sense as to why they wouldn't be. Kate has really made a mission out of playing the martyr role (poor me!) since she and Jon split up, and an affair with Steve would totally eliminate that.

I really don't think Kate thinks that way. She would find some perfectly logical reason (in her mind) why it is ok, they were forced into it, it is someone else's fault, ect..... She would be the only adultress martyr in history.

Did anybody else notice the conversation Kate and Steve had about the photograph someone snapped of them and think it was odd. I thought it was funny when she asked him if he was going to "take care of that photograph" and he told her no. Good for Steve. I wonder if she makes him bodyslam anyone who snaps a photo of her and then smash their camera into oblivion.

I bet we'll see that photo in the tabloids next week. Methinks someone is about to become very wealthy ! :wizard:
their vacation was back in July, no photo's have surfaced yet.

Did anyone notice that they jumped from Day 8 to 11.

Someone asked about camping with RV's. They had actually very nice and expensive. At campgrounds, there are always washing machines and dryers. Plus showers. Most times you want to save your water and use the campground facilities. Or, you hook up your RV right to the water and sewer hookups, and like Steve said, once you get to the camp site, you plug in your RV and then you get air again. RV's do break down easily, but like anything else, they have to be maintained, and with that brown fluid that came put of one, made you wonder how well maintained they were.

Agree 100%.

Wanted to add I wish Kate reacted as strongly for her kids needs as she does for Steve.
I wonder if both he and Kate have recovered from the pizza trauma.

So interesting when Steve said "Kate sit" and she did.

I too think the romantic rumors are really unfair given that there's no real evidence. I think over the course of their time together, Kate has clearly become comfortable around him and has relied on him for a lot of advice on what to do when "situations" arise. I think it's that comfort level that accounts for the typing of "bickering" that we saw. Conversely, Steve's comfort level is such (plus probably knowing that the gig is winding down) that he doesn't mind telling Kate when what she wants him to do is out of line (like "doing something" about that photo). But from this brief interview at the end of the episode this week, he seems to still exhibit a "This is just a job" mindset and separates himself from the rest of the group.

I wonder if TLC had any idea that the last episode would bring out all of those who would never watch the show, and then discuss it all over the net and bring so much attention to it, if they would have continued the show, but with the worst of Kate LOL. I have never, in all the time the show has been on, seen so much discussion of it. Hope this doesn't give them any ideas.
I can also see Kate doing the talk show circuit, since they will now know it will bring out the viewers, even those who intensely dislike her. She can then rehash the show over and over, and the kids can re-live it once again.

I think he crossed the line and got emotionally involved with the kids and maybe with Kate. He is more of a personal assistant than security. He was on the raft with Kate and the kids and encouraged them to swim. He gives Kate advice. I think Kate replaced -divorced Jon and wanted Steve as a father figure. Jon said, he felt their was something going on between those two and Kate made it all his fault, when she was the one that called it done.

I absolutely think Kate would find a way to justify it to herself, if no one else.

"We're soul mates." "We're meant to be together." "You can't fight fate." "The heart wants what it wants." Etc, etc, etc. She could convince herself that it was completely right.

I don't think so. They had that initial jump in ratings right when the divorce was announced, but then ratings quickly fell lower than ever. I don't think a 1-2 week ratings jump would be worth the amount of $$ they pay her.

Yeah, I'm sure her agent is working the phones trying to get her on any talk show possible. This is her last hurrah - her last chance to make some more $. Pretty soon, people will no longer care about her and she will become even more irrelevant than she already is.

I stole this from another site. I apologize to the person who wrote it, but it was just too funny not to spread around.....

<<<Oh, Lordy-bee, I'm a genius! I've finally solved the riddle of Kate! It came to me suddenly tonight, as I watched her in the raft.

Think about it:

1) She has an extreme aversion to water.

2) Her horribly dark fake tan must be covering up something.

3) She is often seen with a broom in her hand.

4) She has an unnatural affection for overly gaudy shoes.

5) She is mean to young girls and small dogs.

6) She is inevitably surrounded by munchkins.

7) She lives in a make-believe world where someone behind the scenes is pulling all the strings.

8) She knows someone who lacks courage, someone who lacks heart and someone who lacks bravery - oh, wait - sorry, it's the same person and he's gone now, so that doesn't really count...

Got it yet?? Quick - somebody throw a bucket of water on her and be done with it: "I'm melting, I'm melting!!!"

Me? I'm off to see a Wizard about some pesky flying monkeys... :) >>>>>>

Do you think it's really bringing that many new viewers? I can see people who used to watch coming back to see the drama .. especially since that was one of the main reasons some people watched in the first place.

For as much as I followed the show back a few seasons ago, I had no idea when the last show was scheduled to air. In fact, before this camping episode, it could have ended and I would've never known about it. Before this week, the last I saw or heard of Kate was when she was at the Derby 4 months ago. A friend alerted me to this particular episode (the RV trip) and I returned to see what my DIS buddies had to say about it all :upsidedow

I agree.

I also won't be surprised if there isn't some sort of announcement soon about what Kate is doing next.
